Has good and bad
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's okay but has some issues. The phone will randomly restart into the boot mode. It also gets really hot when in your pocket. The battery drains faster than described and it is very slow to charge. Also if I pause my VPN for 5 minutes, it doesn't come back on. I do like the form factor and it's solid when open or closed. Performance is pretty good. Decent value though I didn't expect the bugs. What I've seen is every negative review they reply with a support email. It's just for show. I tried emailing and they ignore you.

loved while it worked well!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.LOVED until typing became a little difficult and the screen itself showed considerable signs on wear and tear about a year after I bought it. The battery life was a dream, wish it just worked for what I needed it for. I also needed a new phone to work with my medical devices and the software wasn't compatible at all. The camera isn't great and video quality was lacking considerably. Great phone for basic needs though!

Phone ok, battery bad, scam refresh rate
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I review phones a lot and do carroer testing and I was really looking forward to the razr plus 2023. Apon unboxing it was nicely packaged and felt great innthe hand. I was reviewing it after the moto edge plus 2023 (btw much better phone). PROS: outer display is a game changer, display is clear and one of the only phones that have a DC dimming feature for people who have PWM issues with headaches and irritation from OLED, build quality felt great, fast and responsive. CONS: Advertised refresh rate is a lie. Actually worse than some other phones. It is advertised as up to 165hz like the Edge Plus 2023 but at low brightness it stays at 90hz and woth gigher brightness it goes up to 120hz. It only goes to 165hz if you manually turn it on in Moto Game time while playing a game. But the other issue is the battery does not last long and it heats up quickly and thermal throttles so ot defeats the purpose... Even just using normal apps like facebook, and watching videos it heats up. Browse the web for 30 minutes and its warm. I know its summer but no other phone is like that especially in a cool air conditioned room. Overall ok phone. Cool concept but the only thing it does better than the Samsung flip 4 is the outer display. I'm really disappointed after seeing Motorola stepping up and dropping the ball on the refresh rate and battery and heating issues.

Acceptable, but not great
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Razr+ 2023 is a decent phone in some ways, but is overshadowed by what appears to be some quality control issues. I've now owned two of these phones, and while the second one is a little better than the first one, I'm still a bit disappointed. Maybe that's my own fault for having higher expectations for a flip phone of this style, or maybe it's due to Motorola's attempts at making an "affordable" flip phone. Either way, this phone leaves a bit to be desired. In both cases, the middle part of the screen on the phone has obtained horizontal wear lines that have appeared in the phones screen protector overlay due to the motion of opening / closing the phone. This is highly distracting for me and really shouldn't be happening at all for a phone like this, especially given I've only had this particular phone for maybe 4 months now? The hinge on the phone is extremely fragile, and you need to find a good case with hinge protection if you want the phone to last. Unfortunately there are hardly any good options for cases for this particular phone model that have hinge protection, and the ones that do seem to interfere with the limited outer screen protector options currently available for this phone model. So you can either get a case with hinge protection, or get a case that allows for the outer screen to be protected, but not necessarily both. This is likely due to this being a Motorola brand phone which doesn't seem nearly as popular in the market overall. The screen size is tall, but fairly narrow in comparison to most other phones advertised at this size, so apps and movies seem a bit squished in comparison to other phone styles. Performance is decent but not noticeably better than other mid range Motorola phones (like the moto g power for example.) Battery doesn't even last a full day at this point either, which is a tad annoying (again, only had this four months or so.) Outer camera is good, selfie camera is ok. All in all I guess I was expecting more than what I got, and I don't like owning a phone that I'm so constantly worried about possibly damaging in some way. Never had this worry with other non-flip style phones.

Mostly Good
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had my phone for over a year and mostly have been pleased with it. Tonight I discovered a major flaw in the design though when a misbehaving app (Google Home) took over my phone and overlaid everything on 3/4 of the screen. Standard fix for any tech if nothing else works is to reset the device by turning it off and on...except you can't do that with this phone if you don't have access to the screen. When you use the power buttons, even if you hold them in for minutes, nothing happens. The default setting is holding the power and up volume menu brings up a screen asking you if you want to power off. Which is fine, if one has access to the screen, which I didn't. I did manage to use the 1/4 of the screen I had available to get into my settings and uninstall the misbehaving app. However, what's wrong with a power button that actually turns the power off? The power button is defaulted to bring up an AI assistant, which I never use. The only option to change it to is holding the power button brings up the on-screen menu. If your phone is misbehaving like mine, that doesn't help. Poor design by Motorola to not even offer the option for a power button to turn off the phone.

Warranty Is Useless
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the phone. It is responsive, small and does everything I want. Camera was great. After 4 months, the screen failed and I sent it to Motorola for repair. It happens but I knew I had a year warranty. I was informed since I had small crack on the outer shell of the case, my warranty was voided. What phone doesn't have some scratch or small crack? I did that in the first 5 days I had the phone. Don't believe the warranty is worth anything. Buy insurance on the phone.

Great phone but Issues with Screen Protector
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The phone is great! It's got good graphics, it runs games very well, and is always a conversation starter whenever you close it in front of a group. The reason for knocking off 2 stars is because after only 3 weeks of use, the screen protector creased and micro fractured at the fold. The phone constantly reminds you not to remove the protector so I tried to get it swapped at Best Buy, they were unhelpful and told me they could only give store credit, but since I didn't buy the protection plan (I'm very careful with my phones and have never really needed it) they told me I would first need to purchase that for $170 before swapping the phone. This would use the $170, making it to where the new phone would need an additional purchase of a protection plan. When I asked the Geek Squad member if a 3rd party would be able to he said that Motorola is not a big company and would not have support out of Best Buy (What???? Moto is like one of the first cellphone companies???) That was way too much of a price tag, especially since I wanted the screen replaced only and not the whole phone. Plus after that last statement I felt like I couldn't trust the guy anymore. I feel like bringing in a defected product within a month of purchase is a reasonable thing, but policy is different I guess. I called BB customer support, they first told me that Geek Squad could fix it and to call them. But upon calling the number, I was brought right back to the BB customer support but with a different agent. This agent was actually helpful and told me to call Motorola and they will talk with a 3rd party to get it fixed. So many hoops to get to actual help So 1 star removed for Best Buy/Geek Squad either trying to pull one over on me or just being under trained and 1 star for Moto because of the screen issue in the first place.

Great Phone,Missing Cables and Poor Staff Response
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently purchased a used phone from Best Buy as a gift for my wife, and while the device itself is in excellent condition, there were a few issues that I feel Best Buy could improve on. The phone itself is in great shape, and the curbside pickup was seamless, which I appreciated. However, when I got home, I realized that no charging cables were included. This was a bit disappointing, as I expected the phone to come with at least the necessary cables. I had to revisit the store to pick up a USB-C to USB-C charging cable, but when I asked the Best Buy staff about the missing item, their response was not as helpful or courteous as I had hoped. It felt like a bit of an inconvenience, especially for a company with such a strong reputation. Overall, while I'm happy with the phone itself, I do think Best Buy can do a better job ensuring that all necessary accessories are included and that their customer service responds more professionally to such concerns.

Posted .Hi JohnM, I understand that you may have concerns about the heating concern on your phone. If you are experiencing this, please don't hesitate to inform us. It's important to note that while phones can become warm or even hot, it is rarely a cause for alarm. When a phone is charging or being used extensively, it is normal for it to generate heat. The speed of charging or the amount of power being consumed can contribute to the phone getting hotter. Activities such as gaming, streaming media, or using navigation can also cause the phone to heat up. However, if your phone becomes uncomfortably warm, it should provide a warning and automatically shut down to cool down. These instances are uncommon, but there are built-in safeguards. If you are worried, you can help cool down your phone by avoiding energy-intensive tasks, keeping it away from direct sunlight, and taking similar precautions.
If you are currently experiencing discomfort due to the heat, please let us know. We are here to assist you and will gladly investigate further. For other concerns, please send us an email at supportforums@motorola.com. -Ythan

Could be better
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not a premium phone for sure. It's decently thin and great battery life, and os is like stock android. The hinge is not smooth it's makes some creaky noises . Would be great value at a lesser price but at 990$ , it's not worth the buck.

Will most likely trade in for Z-Flip
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Maybe I just got a dud, but it seems very glitchy and it gets very hot mostly while charging or connected to Android auto, but sometimes while doing neither of those. The outside screen is great though. Basic cameras inside and out, but not a big deal to me but if you're someone who is all about cameras specs you'll probably want to pass on this one. As someone who's had Samsung Galaxy phones since they began making them, this definitely doesn't give flagship phone vibes for me. It freezes, restarts on its own, and I haven't even had it a month yet. Past the return period though, so I'm kinda stuck with it unless I trade for the upcoming Z Flip. Best for nostalgia, but definitely leaves much to be desired for me.

Moto Missed The Mark on this phone.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Screen isn't what I expected. Camera is not of good quality. Seems the camera is being guided by AI instead of the user. Won't take photos of you and the background. Very disappointed for a $999.99 phone. Love that it folds. Screen doesn't always cooperate or respond. Using a smart pen helps to navigate, seems as if the phone doesn't realize that I am tapping on the screen. It's too late to return or it would go back to the store. The colors in the phone aren't vibrant, nothing looks like it did online . My 2021 moto stylus is a much better product. I find myself using it more than the new phone. Best thing about this phone is the Moto character you can interact with. Like the stereo effect from the speakers, but still not great sound. Moto missed the mark on this phone.
