excellent product, recommended for use in any car with screen

It works, but was slow to connect, and frequently disconnected. I returned it and bought the Rexing CPW-22, which works much better. The Motorola MA1 is a fairly old design.

Takes a little bit of time to connect to the phone and show up on the car's screen. The connection is solid, haven't had any issue with it. In fact, my Goggle Maps would freeze when the phone was connected directly to the car through USB and it doesn't with this. I would buy it again.

I bought the M1A in May of 2023. I am writing this in May of 2024. I have had this thing for nearly a year and it worked flawlessly until yesterday. The unit will connect to my car and if I am lucky it will stay connected for a minute and then it will stop working and never connect again until the car shuts off. I've had interference issues and this isn't one of them. I tried a second unit from my wife's car (another purchase I am regretting) and it works fine. This one is broke. I've spent the last hour trying to get in touch with Motorola customer support, but it is impossible to find direct support. The best thing that you're going to get is an online form. In closing, don't buy this junk. You might want to look into AAwireless as an alternative.

Frequent disconnection while driving is putting you, car and passengers at a great risk. You going fast with the help of map and all of a sudden your device is disconnected and you dont know what exit to take next or cant get to your phone to check that. I would say, with just extra 50 bucks you can buy an used smartphone where you can install offline maps and then use it permanently for car use. Let it be connected to the usb in car thru cable forever.
