...and it was SO worth it. The graphics on this game are superb, the controls have an excellent layout, racing is fun and addictive. This isn't just your normal straightforward racer. You have to stay on your toes and learn track layouts to win. It makes for a very thrilling game. The tracks are fun and edgy as well. There are many vehicle classes to work with to suit your type of driving. You have to master each class to progress through the game, so there are some tough races. As you probably guessed already, each class has its own strengths and weaknesses, which you learn throughout the game. The game does have a slight learning curve but nothing too difficult for racing fans. I was a bit saddened because of the lack of multiplayer, but not many people I knew had a PS3 anyway. Haven't tried online yet, but I hear it's great. The desert tracks get a bit monotonous, but the developers kept switching them around so you didn't race the same track too often. Despite its flaws, I still think this game is deserving of 5 stars. It's an edgy (literally) racer every PS3 owner should pick up.

This game is 100% pure adreneline. The races are absolute mayhem, and each environment is beautifully detailed. The controls are easy to get used to, and the online races are a ton of fun. But sadly, they ditched one of my favorite things about racing titles, 2-player split screen. Nothing is more fun than beating your best friend in a race, and I wish they would have made it available. Tracks and vehicles are limited, but they have added some new downloadable content on the PS network, which helps. Also, each track is completely different depending on what type of vehicle you choose, so that also keeps the game from getting too old too quickly. If you like racing games, pick this one up. But the only way your friends will get to play against you is if you send them home to play online.

I think this game is pretty fun. It has astounding graphics, easy controls, lots of vehicles, and lots of tracks. The vehicles are, |Bikes, ATVs, Big Rigs, Mud Pluggers, Rally Cars, Buggies, and Racing Trucks. Each type of vehicles has its strenghts and weaknesses. For example, Big Rigs have great handling in the mud, but are pretty slow. So, the vehicles are good, but, it is lacking gameplay types. It has "Play", which is where there are different "tickets" in which you can choose to race on. Each ticket consists of 3 or 4 races. Each race has a set track and type of vehicle you must use. You must come in the top three in the race in order to qualify for the next race on the ticket. From finishing in the top three, you get points. The more points you get, you unlock more tickets and vehicles. There is also online play, where you can join a game or make a game setup to the rules of your liking. But, that is all there is. There is no free race or splitscreen. So, I think that kind of hurt the game, the "Play" and the online is still really fun.

I purchased the 80 GB PS3 which came with Motorstorm. Since it came with the console, I have enjoyed the game with the great graphics and action. The intro was nice to start the game and the game offers several levels and tracks to experience. Similar to many other racing games, you continue to work your way up through the circuit collecting points to unlock other tracks and cars. One area of the game that is lacking is the number of unique tracks. There probably 5 to 10 tracks used throughout the game. This ends up making the game seem very repetitive because even though you may be using a different vehicle or on a different skill level, you end up using one of the tracks you have already used before. This might not be a big deal to some gamers but after playing it awhile, it does seem a little monotonous. Overall, I think this is a cool game to have but I am definitely a lot happier it came with the console instead of me purchasing the game separately. Although some may argue you purchased the game when you paid the higher price for the 80 GB. Oh well - you will enjoy the game as it is competitive with great graphics.

Great graphics and tracks to race. Has a fairly steep learning curve - but each race is enjoyable. Try all the different vehicles and the mulitple variations (detours) at each track. Multiplayers is really tough...lots of good racers out there!!

This game has top notch graphics, great car selection, and awesome online play. The only bad part of this game is when you are selecting your car it takes a really long to load and when you play online it takes awhile to get into the races.

This game had a lot of potential, but they ruined it by focusing too much on the graphics. The graphics are amazing, don't get me wrong, but the gameplay sucks. Would of loved to of seen some vehicle customization capabilities, better tracks, more of a track selection, etc. Seems more of like an arcade type game. You're better off with a Need For Speed or Gran Turismo game.

I really like this title, it's just that there are some glaring issues that keep it from being a great game. While there is a decent selection of vehicles to choose from, there are only 8 tracks and that makes for a short gameplay experience. Also, every track starts to feel the same too quickly resulting in repetitive gameplay. While the control is great and it really feels like you're moving at very high speeds, this isn't enough to give this title a higher rating. The lack of split screen is also a big disappointment for any racing game.

this is a really good game. the graphics in this game are top notch. they really show the power of the playstation 3 system. the gameplay is good. you can even use the motion senor to steer your vehicle. there aren't that many differnet levels. they change the same level alot by changing the time of day it is. making it pretty much the same level. you can choose a variety of different vehicles, such as fire trucks, motorcycles, cars, trucks, dune buggies, atv's. and you can change basically the look of your vehicle only three different types. But this game is great even though it has flaws. I highly recommend it. you won't be dissappointed in the purchase of this game.

Mortorstorm is a very fun game. It challenges you to figure out what genre of car goes with the best terrain. Unfortunately, there is only a play mode were you race and it is also like a championship mode. Other than that there is extras where there is videos, options, and online. No multiplayer is a choice (but in the new Mortorstorm, they have a multiplayer). The online is insane. It is extreme fun to race your friends over the internet, and challenge other people. The unlockables consist of vehicles and tracks, which makes you get addicted to the game. The game is a must buy!

If you own a PS3, buy this game if for no other reason than to show off the graphics. I showed this game to a friend who had never seen a PS3 before. His reaction was priceless. It's not just a pretty face, though. I love the premise of Motorstorm. You tear around Monument Valley in just about any off-road vehicle you can think of. I would've liked to have seen more tracks (the biggest complaint everyone has about Motorstorm) but the ones that are there are great and (for the most part) follow multiple paths. The game is tough (it is way too easy to explode), but the trick to completing it is finding the fastest line and race it every time (no matter what vehicle you're in). I was really disappointed when I completed Motorstorm, however. The credits roll and then... nothing. No bonus vehicle, no extra races. I know it's a 1st generation PS3 game, but c'mon, you gotta give me something. I'm giving this game 5 stars just because it's an absolute blast to play. I haven't had this much fun with a game in a long time. Some of the races are absolute chaos- you never know what you're going to see. Your opponents will run into each other, go flying off cliffs, and explode in high fashion. It's never scripted or staged, either. The AI in this game races like it wants to win. Online is tough, the gamers will run the fastest line and you'll never catch them. It's frustrating to know that you have no chance of winning 3 seconds into a race. Overall, it's a beautiful, challenging and slighty flawed game. I had a smile on my face the entire time.

this game is pure eyecandy. thats it. sure it handles, too. i can barely recomend this. there is no mutliplayer what so unless your online, but i dont have that and a lot of other people dont either. theres only one game mode and thats racing. in fact, i dont even know if its a mode, you just turn it on and select a car and race. theres a few different vehicle types to choose from. trucks, bikes, cars, go cart things, and eighteen wheelers. with every vehicle type, theres about 3 or 4 different kinds of that type. theres only a few tracks to choose from but none that really stand out. so if you only care about graphics and racing, then get it. otherwise, it will dissapoint you. thank god the sequel is fixing all these problems.

Great graphics, and the cars are fun to drive. However, you're basically on the same 5 or 6 tracks for all 50 or so races and each vehicle only has 3 preset paint jobs to choose from. It'd be nice to customize the vehicles yourself. Gameplay is fun, but sometimes if you rear-end someone, they slam on their brakes and you can't get around, or if you get locked up with another car or two, everyone zooms by you. However, on the other hand, you can be in last place up until half way through the last lap and still win the race. Nice that this game comes with the 80Gb PS3 hardware, but I'm not sure I'd pay $60 for it...if you don't already have it, wait to buy this one til it's down around $30, but do buy it.

This game came with my PS3 as a bundled package. However, even if it didn't I would have added it to my collection. The game has excellent graphics a good selection of vehicles (including motor cycles, 4 wheelers, big rig trucks and off road vehicles). The online play is a lot of fun and additional game options and vehicles can be downloaded from the Playstation store.

If you own a PS3, you must own this game. The graphics are unreal and the amount of detail from the autos' designs to the crashes is jaw dropping. It truly does show the power of the PS3. I does get a little repetitive and the single player mode is short and not much of a challenge. You will be spending most of your time on-line with this game.

This game is a good racing game. The control is good. You feel like your traveling at high speeds. The levels are designed well, but there good have been more tracks. Also there should have been split screen in the game. Overall this game is really good. I would recomned this game.

This is a great game. I've never seen better graphics in my life, but it's missing a lot of important parts of a good racing game. First, there is no multi-player! WHAT? How can there not be any multi-player? That is wrong. Next, there are only two true options to Motorstorm. Online or that ticket thing. The tickets are where you race with a certain car on a certain track and if you do well you get more tickets so, you can race in more events. But, that's it. There isn't an option where you can just choose which track you want to race and which car you want to race with. You don't get any choices. You take what they give you. Last, the sixaxis racing is too sensitive. This isn't really an important part of the game, but it could be toned down a bit. Still, I'd buy this game just for the sake of having it. Also, if you get extremely good at racing in this game. You won't be able to stop playing it.

Well I got my 80gb PS3 in October, and it came with Motorstorm. Although I bought GH3 on the same day I never gave Motorstorm the full attention it deserved. I did play it though. First thing I noticed was how good the graphics were. I loved it. The second thing I noticed was that when racing when you go super fast and hit a wall, your car blows up and fly all over the place. And all of the cars and maps on DLC are cool. These are what I like about the game. The online mode racing against my friends was cool too, although there was no Splitscreen which was a bummer as well. Problems were: No splitscreen, slow load time for the cars kinda drew me away a little bit because I just am ready to hop in and look at a car pick it, and then race. Me personally am more in to say the Gran Turismo series, but I enjoyed playing this as well.

AMAZING graphics, but was just missing more detail in the offline mode. The game seemed like it was rushed and wasn't done, but nevertheless it is still one of the best racing games I've ever played. Online is just as fun as playing offline. It does lack as a multi-player game, but that's never really bothered me since you can race online as well. I give it a 4 before it was slightly missing something in the offline component of the game. I highly recommend this game to anyone who just bought a ps3 and is looking to show it off. The intro to the game is breath-taking. This game isn't for everyone, but it is a great way to start off your collection of ps3 games.

It's a great game! however i gave it a 4! because it DOES NOT include 2 player split screen! which i was very disapointed with!.. But atleast you can go OnLine and race, and as you progress you will gain ranks and such which is always neat.
