A coffee maker that is efficient
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This coffee maker is inexpensive, but it does what you need to get done -- economically. It needs to have its innards cleaned out every year. But it does the trick.

Ok Pot, Avg Flavor, DW Safe, CONDENSATION!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a pretty standard coffee maker. Easy to setup and get started. Makes 12 cups. Uses a basket filter (not cone) and includes a reusable basket. All but the plug in base is dishwasher safe. Flavor is not as good as the Cuisinart I've had for 15+ years. The carafe lid and reservoir lid have a lot of condensation and drip all over when you open them. I really like the dishwasher safe but don't know how often I will use it. The reservoir, top, water filter holder, coffee filter baskets, carafe and lid can all detach and go in the dishwasher. Only the remaining base w/ plug cannot. I like the cone filters better, this is only basket. And the flavor is just okay (maybe it will improve w/ use) It has programable functions for set ahead making. After use (overnight etc.) When I open the lid to fill w/ water, all the condensation drips down the side on my counter. The same thing happens with the carafe. My wife's comment was 'this is not burn your face off hot coffee'. Which must be a requirement. Hot enough for average drinker but not if you want the super-hot. This is an okay - average coffee maker. I just don't care for the condensation dripping.

Poorly designed with flimsy thin glass carafe
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The idea of the removable tank appealed due to lime build up in our existing coffee machine. However when I first got this one it took about 10 water cycles to get rid of the horrid plastic taste in the water, even with the filter and repeated cleanings. I noted then that a lot of condensation builds up on the inside of the lid and when you open the lid it immediately runs down past the filter basket and onto the hot plate. The main concern I had was that the carafe seemed to be made of really thin glass and sure enough barely a month after getting this the carafe cracked when washing it, just through applying pressure with a scrubbing pad to get rid of stains. I’m not going to waste any money replacing it as it would likely just be another cheap one. Going back to my trusty old Waring which has a solid carafe and has served well for many years.

Very disappointing
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Too complicated. Too many pieces. Timer difficult to use. The pot drips when pouring. Can't turn the pot on the warming plate without pulling it out. We made two pots of coffee and then gave it to our son.

Easy to use, easy to clean
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ordered this coffeemaker to use in my home office in my basement so I wouldn't have to keep running upstairs each time I wanted another cup. The online pictures dont look as nice as the actual product. This looks and feels much more high end. After unpacking any item that I use for to make something edible, the first thing I do is break out the dish detergent and bleach. Fortunately, with this coffeemaker, everything with the except of the bottom part is dishwasher safe. I was a bit skeptical because I assumed something would come out melted or deformed from the heat of it drying. I was pleasantly surprised that all was well after I took the parts out. One of my favorite features of this coffeemaker is the auto-pause feature. A lot of times I just dont want to wait for the entire pot to complete before having a cup and with this system, you just lift the carafe, pour your cup and place it back down. The coffee making resumes afterwards. Definitely a plus for me. All in all, this is a really nice coffeemaker from a reliable brand. You won't go wrong with this one.

Absolutely LOVELY
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me just start this review off with a bang! This Mr. Coffee is bangin! I absolutely love the filter! It changes the taste of the coffee. So crisp, and refreshing compared to just running tap water in it without the filter. I will list all the PRO’s and CON’s below to hopefully help you make your decision on purchasing this product. PRO’s: • Sleek design and well-rounded for any décor. • Dishwasher safe • Replaceable filter • Comes with a mesh filter so you don’t have to buy those annoying paper ones. • Brewed at the right temperature. • Easily programmable. • Very easy set up and unboxing. • Sturdy machine! CON’s: • I do wish it brewed a little faster. • The power cord can be short for some consumers who have outlets that are not on or near the place you chose to place your coffee maker. All in all, I have to say, I really do love this Mr. Coffee! I would recommend you purchase one! If you love coffee and want a wonderful coffee maker, PLEASE consider this Mr. Coffee. You won’t be disappointed.

It makes pretty good coffee and is easy to clean
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just received this unit, and I’m impressed at how physically light it is. I’m appreciative of this since I’m often moving our coffee maker around to make room for other kitchen appliances. One nice feature of this unit is that it can be cleaned by placing selected removable pieces into the dishwasher. DO NOT PUT THE BASE IN THE DISHWASHER, by the way. That’s where all the electrical components are and doing so would permanently damage the unit. They recommend routine daily/weekly cleaning in the dishwasher to remove residue, oils, and moisture. The four removable parts that can go into the dishwasher are the lid, brew basket, the carafe, and the top half. The monthly cleaning cycle – what they call decalcifying – requires cycling vinegar through the unit as though you were making a carafe of coffee, and then cycling water through the unit two more times after the first cycle is completed. Very easy to do. The instructions also recommend cleaning the unit first before the initial use. The electronic controls on the front are simple enough to use. First set the time of day by using the HR and Min buttons. This is especially important if you plan on using the Brew Later function, which lets you set a time for the unit to run automatically. That’s handy for setting up the coffee maker to prepare a pot of coffee for the next morning – which is what I do. I add the desired amount of water to the unit and an appropriate amount of coffee grounds to the brew basket, and because I pressed the Brew Later button, it automatically starts brewing the next morning at 6:30am. To discontinue the Brew Later cycle, just press the Brew Later button to turn it off. If you don’t want to brew later but want to start brewing now, just press the Brew Now button. Doing so starts a brewing process immediately and turns on the warming plate (which sits under the carafe). The warming plate continues running for four (4) hours, or until you press the Brew Now button a second time – which turns everything off. They do recommend using filters during the brewing process to pull out bitter sediments that might exist in the coffee grounds. You can use paper filters, but they recommend using a reusable filter instead because it will have tiny holes that allow rich coffee oils to brew through. I followed their recommended measurements for how much coffee/water to use and thus far it seems to be a good approximation of what works well for me. - For 12 cups, use 60 oz of water and 12 tablespoons of coffee grounds - For 10 cups, use 50 oz of water and 10 tablespoons of coffee grounds Etc. Essentially, use 5 ounces of water and one tablespoon of coffee grounds for each cup of coffee you want to brew. For me, much depends on the type of coffee I’m brewing. I like stronger decaf coffee, so I might add more than one tablespoon of coffee grounds per cup. When I use flavored coffee, I use less. All in all, this Mr. Coffee 12-cup unit is easy to use and equally as easy to clean in the dishwasher, and the resulting brewed coffee is more than adequate for my taste.

Great coffee and great value
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I owned a Mr Coffee brewing machine years ago and recall that it lasted a long time. Since then, I've tried several different brands from traditional machines to the single serve machines. I wanted to go back to a good-old fashioned coffee maker. I think the single serve machines are wasteful in how much trash they produce. When I unboxed the Mr. Coffee, I was very impressed by the packaging and how they engineered the components (especially the glass pot) to arrive to your doorstep unbroken. After setting up the machine, we tried our first pot of coffee. This is a great, simple and straightforward brewing machine. The coffee is great and the controls are easy and intuitive. I've you're looking to go back to a simple approach to brew your coffee, this Mr Coffee machine is a great value.

Economic Coffee maker adding some cool features
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am sure that when you approach the Best Buy aisle looking for a coffee machine you are overwhelmed by the options available and other that your budget, the serving size and the basic features you don’t know what to pick. I definitively think that this model should be consider among your options because three elements that are very special (never seem them before): 1.- Is fully dishwashable. Let’s be clear, cleaning the coffee machine after few years of use become one of the less enjoyable actions in your life and if the coffee machine is in a shared office space, probably one of the reason to get rid of the old one and buy a new one. In the past you been able to put some part (the pot, perhaps the filter) in the top rack of the dishwasher (the one with more conservative cleaning). Now this model allows you to put the full five pieces (pot, lid, filters and reservoir, all EXCEPT THE ELECTRICAL BASE) in the down rack (in the tough one) of your regular dishwasher, securing a full more deep cleaning. 2.- To be able to handle the dishwasher top rack, you can feel that the plastic used to build the machine is clearly more study than other average coffee machines. 3.- Typical in more expensive models, this version Includes also a basic water filter system that would eliminate some of the chlorine or calcium excess. But cartridges to be purchased separately (this is my only “but”). If you are thinking that by being attract but those new feature you are trading something, think again: You can use it for your daily coffee as good as in all the other options. Because, without using the full dishwasher, between few brews, the machine also includes an auto clean cycle. Because as other medium size coffee makers is ready to prepare up to a 12 cup serving, without limiting you to do a less bigger serving. Because you can use the immediate brewing option as you can use the timer for a fresh brewed coffee in the morning prepared for you at the exact time (don’t neglect the positive impact in your brain of the smell of fresh brew coffee in your mornings while taking your shower). Because is a no-cup model (and I dislike the effect of the plastic empty cups in the planet or the cost of the cups) nor a paper filter model (always looking to buy the right filter) but an universal plastic filter that can be used for your favorite grounded coffee. Having all those elements, now, I need to add that I also like the price.

Basic maker, but easy to clean in dishwasher.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice basic coffee maker that is easy to clean. The top half comes apart and easily cleaned in the dishwasher. It does take up a bit of space in the dishwasher though. You can schedule a time to brew, but you’ll have to do it everyday. There’s a filter pack for the water that’s supposed to make the coffee tastes better, but I didn’t notice the difference. The lid is somewhat hard to remove and I feel like I may break the tab if I pull too hard.

My Wife's Dream Coffeemaker
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This review is for the new Mr. Coffee 12 Cup Programmable Coffeemaker model BVMC-LMX120-WF. This is literally the coffeemaker of my wife’s dreams. She wants freshly brewed coffee every morning and she wants it to taste good. Every other coffee maker we have had was a pain to keep clean. The only cleaning you could do was the monthly vinegar wash, and hand washing the pot. Not anymore. This coffeemaker comes apart and the key components can all go into the dishwasher for quick easy cleaning. The carafe and all of the components above it come apart and are completely dishwasher safe. Once they are washed they all snap back together and you are ready for another great tasting pot of coffee. Do this as frequently as you like, to keep your coffee tasting fresh. It is still recommended to do a vinegar and water cleaning cycle once a month to decalcify the coffeemaker and carafe. The coffeemaker consists of the electric base unit. It has a digital display and 5 buttons. The buttons are for setting the time, setting the timer choosing the brew cycle and the monthly cleaning mode. The unit also comes with the glass carafe, a reusable filter, an advanced water filtration cartridge, and a filter holder/reminder. Before using the 1st time, put the 4 dishwasher safe components through a cycle in your dishwasher then follow the instructions on preparing the water filter cartridge and setting the filter change reminder. This coffeemaker makes a great tasting cup of coffee, is easy to clean and very easy to use. I highly recommend it.
