Too much money to break so soon
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will not purchase this brand again. We got this for my son and the mother board went out with in months. This was a nightmare. We had every type of protection that best buy and geek squad offered only to have to cough up another 1000 dollars to have everything backed up. Went through all of that had the computer for over 3 months. This was my son's work computer. I had to purchase another one just so he could keep his job. It was ridiculous.

Expectations met
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This machine has been easy to set up, and runs WoW flawlessly. Graphics are really clear and it’s fast. Doesn’t run hot. Using this for photography also, and seems to run well for that. I really like the lightweight for travel and of course the color changing keyboard is fun. I would recommend this, especially if you want a compact laptop that can do it all.

Excellent For Just About Everything
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this laptop for school. My major is video game art and design so I use a lot of programs that are very RAM and CPU intensive such as Maya, Substance Painter, Unreal Engine, Unity etc. and this computer is more than capable of handling these programs. I can have all of these programs open at the same time and I experience zero delay or drop in performance. Other than the performance, the design is exceptional... weighing just over 4 lbs and being so thin, this laptop is great for doing intensive work or gaming anywhere you go, it's basically a mobile work station and is on par with some gaming desktops. The battery life is good, but could be improved. Browsing the internet, watching videos and using other less intensive programs the battery life is fine, but if I'm using 3D modeling programs or a game engine the battery life shortens, which is expected, so I bring my charger with me if I'm planning on doing that type of work. This laptop also has very good connectivity, having 4 USB 3.0 ports is amazing in this day and age where most laptops have like 2 max. It also has the capability of supporting multiple external monitors which is great for when I'm working at home. This is the best computer I've ever owned (I've had laptops and gaming desktops previously).

Great Gaming Laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great gaming laptop. Thanks to the GTX 1060 graphics card and i7 core, it can run many demanding games such as the Witcher 3 without going under 60 fps. Not only that, it has a nice rgb keyboard with per-key lighting. One downside would be the loud fans it has, but I'm fine with it if it means I can play great games smoothly and with high detail.

A great machine!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was already a fan of MSI laptops. I own one of the older Apache Pro models, and I purchased my GF one of their business models for her school and work. Recently I needed a new machine for game development (and maybe a little bit of Sea of Thieves shannanery.) I needed something more portable then my steadfast Apache. I have always loved MSI for not just the affordability and well tested part configurations, but for their reinforced metal frames and tight hinges. Nothing feels loose on this laptop. It is incredibly sturdy, and quite thin for a gaming laptop. Beautiful design with full lit keyboard, with customization lighting. Plenty of USBs, great sound for a laptop too (not too tinny). The cooler boost also works very well to re-distribute the heat. I likely will not be cranking this beauty to the max. The most intense game I play is Ark Survival Evolved (which looks phenomenal!) It has a lot of power, and for the price, I could not be happier.

Excellent gaming laptop, light and fast
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing piece of art, elegant, thin and light. As for the hardware, it has an excellent performance, my games run smoothly. A bit noisy with the fan working, but I imagine it is somewhat expected. Compared to the RoG that I was using, this is such an improvement on portability that I'm in a state of awe. I'm glad MSI managed to make it fast and light.

A really great gaming laptop for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Before purchasing this MSI Laptop I spent roughly three weeks researching what would be best for me/specs/other reviews/etc, and over time it was apparent that this laptop was what I wanted to get for myself. Since buying it and having used it for the last few weeks I can honestly say that I did not make a bad decision in the slightest. It is surprisingly thinner and lighter than what I was expecting (my last laptop was a 2014 Dell Inspiron and when i picked up the two in comparison the Dell felt like a brick!) but it is definitely powerful. I have gone through my steam library and tried out a few variety of games to test out the system per-say and it runs all of them super smoothly with only occasional screen tearing (the tearing is a bit noticeable but i usually end up tuning it out since it only seems to happen in the top 1" - 1-1/2" of my screen) and having only really used consoles for gaming the last few years, it is definitely noticeable how much better the graphics are on this. Other than that i love the keyboard having the customizable backlighting (I just turn it to disco and pretend it's christmas lights) and the numpad. Basically (i'm awful at these reviews) I really enjoy the laptop. Like any product there are some cons and things i wish were different with the computer that I have found but haven't really taken away anything from it, though I feel it's best to mention it. The trackpad works great but i don't like not having physical buttons on it for right/left click (it's me being whiny but meh), and sometimes there are software glitches that end up being mild nuisances like games randomly sending me back to the desktop screen while playing (which is killer when i play rocket league ) though this might be due to it running on a windows os which usually breeds problems for most computers with the constant updating. In closing (i feel like im writing a school paper now) I love the computer and have had nothing but good experiences with it and while no computer will ever be without some minor faults this one has been perfect for me and I didn't feel like i had to dig to deep into my pockets to get it. If you want a good gaming computer but don't need everything to run on ultra settings (max and medium are just fine for me) then this computer gets the job done with no issues, though I have a feeling that it could probably run some games on ultra if i tried.

Great For Back to School
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop for online school and programming purposes, but it exceeds my expectations for more personal uses such as watching a video (the screen quality is amazing) or listening to music (internal speakers are better than the HP I am replacing). The different keyboard lighting is fun and being able to change certain keys makes it easy to work in a dimmer environment. The keyboard is also well spaced and I find typing to be easy. The trackpad is definitely taking some getting used to but is not a deal-breaker. As other reviewers have mentioned, the fans do tend to get a little loud at times and I have not yet figured out all the settings, so am hoping I can change operation since I do not do any heavy gaming. Besides the screen resolution, keyboard, and guts (processor, GPU, RAM), the best thing about this laptop is the slimness and weight, which make it a sleek little friend to take on the go. My final gripe is that even though the laptop itself is so light, the power adapter is a bit heavy. I wish it were a smidge lighter, although I understand why it needs to be that size. Wishful thinking. Overall an excellent piece of machinery!

proformance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.laptop runs great! The new GTX 1060 offers a huge improvement over the previous 970. Games like Overwatch, Witcher 3, Metal Gear Solid V, etc. run smooth as butter on very-high/ultra (they do not dip below 60FPS). When playing Overwatch, my temps run at ~60C which are way better than the previous model (~76 C). You'll be able to caress the most demanding and future titles with much needed TLC. Note: I had to mess with the GeForce Experience to disable the in-game overlay they force down your throat, and uninstalled some unnecessary programs first (*note some reviews describing a problem with the stuttering, which is a problem caused by this from my experience). To be fair, though, the Experience thing is a flaw from Nvidia, not this laptop. After that, it was smooth sailing. Buy a laptop fan stand to keep temps down (this applies to any gaming computer). Also, no G-Sync (why?) which is kind of a downer for those using external 144hz monitors considering this thing can pump more than 60FPS on most games, but this is something extra and you'd have to get at least 120 fps on high-end games for you to be able to notice a difference.

Powerful Gaming Laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Much better performance than any other laptop I've ever owned. The fans get a bit loud at times. I also had an issue where a windows update messed up my audio playback devices, but the issue resolved itself and has not recurred since. Extremely fast, decent battery life, great graphics and good customization opportunities.

A great laptop for students and gamers
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am entering college this fall and was looking for a good laptop that can handle all the task that I may ever need. I was looking for a laptop with an 8th gen Intel i7 processor, 16 GB of ram that can be upgraded, ethernet port, thunderbolt 3, and a GTX 10 Series graphics card. There are a lots of laptops out there to choose from. I was heavily considering the Razer Blade 15 but decided to go with this for a couple of reasons. The ethernet and SD card reader are great to have on this laptop. This laptop also has a full number pad. The keyboard on this feels great to type on and has very little learning curve at all. The storage on this laptop is amazing with 1 TB HDD and a 256 GB SSD you'll be sure to never run out of storage. Lastly the price, this laptop is a steal at this price point and especially with being a student. There is very little to complain about on this laptop. I would highly recommend this laptop to anyone looking at getting a powerful gaming or creative laptop. I hope this review was informative and helps you in your buying process. I hope you have a great rest of your day and best of luck in your laptop search.

Didn’t last long
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was really excited get this laptop but it did a software update and when it restarted the screen began to flicker and became very dark. Took it back to Best Buy and said that should not have happened, defective product of something happened during an update. The laptop had less than an hour of use when this happened. Did not take a replacement, returned. I would have expected that from a $250 laptop and not this one.

Not Bad for the Price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, this laptop is great for gaming and for working on school work. I haven’t notice any issues yet, but I did notice that this laptop’s screen as 60Hz. That doesn’t bother me at all, but if that does bother you then I would suggest looking at something else – but also, it’s not bad for the price plus if you’re a student; there is a promotion and if you have a card from best buy – it’s worth it. Temperature and Noise - They can get very loud when you are gaming. I tested out the Witcher 3 on this laptop and after while it will get warm. With the Dragon Center, you can adjust fan speed but regardless – it can get very loud. And if that bothers you, I would recommend headphones. - Besides from gaming, this laptop is quiet when I worked on simple schoolwork. And just surfing the web. Build: - The weight of this laptop is lighter and thinner than I expected. I believe it is around 4 pounds or 1.8-ish kg. - Fingerprints can be seen on this laptop. So, keep that in mind. - This is FHD – 1920x1080P. - I would also recommend maybe having a mouse for this laptop. While this laptop does have a mouse tracking pad, you do have to click a little harder. If you don’t mind that, then you can use the tracking pad – there may be a couple issues that I have yet to experience. Keyboard: - The keyboard is SteelSeries, there is a program that allows you customize the colors. This laptop does have an RGB Keyboard. - The layout is quite different that from what I’m used to. The windows key is on the right side. Programs: - When I first had this laptop, I did have to update a couple things and install a couple drivers. The Dragon Center that MSI offers is quite nice. You can monitor your system, adjust fan speed, there’s a mobile center, and there are tools that range from Battery Calibration to a user manual or help – if you need it. Camera: - You can turn it off or on. But the quality of the camera isn’t that good. It looks darker than it is. It’s not a big deal, but if you are someone that might be using the camera more – maybe talk to friends, family and for any work; I wouldn’t recommend this laptop built in cam.

Great Computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Needed a new everyday computer for school and tasks. I needed one that could keep up with gaming graphics/game development and still function with Microsoft Office products and this one meets all of the requirements. The keyboard is great and thin size with well thought out design makes it easily portable.

College Gaming
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is pretty good for a college student like myself; I enjoy playing video games like Skyrim, League of Legends, and many other open-world RPGS like Fallout. Of course, this is a problem for those who wish to have a powerful gaming device as well as a portable laptop to take to school every day. Upon unwrapping, the laptop is sleek and light to carry. I owned the previous model before upgrading, and the power bank is slimmer. Typing feels good, and I don't have a problem typing. The lighting is easily customizable through the settings, and gives it a very nice flair to the rest of the black computer. There's plenty of space for games and documents needed for school, and considering the GTX 1060, games run amazing on it. The only con I would have to say is the aluminum finishing is prone to fingerprints and smudges, but other than that, I see no problem with this laptop. It looks professional enough to carry around without all the flairs of another competitor, and has more than enough benefits for a college student.

Great for College
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a freshman in college and this laptop meets all the requirements for the Engineering school, and well above too. This laptop is light enough to carry around all day and looks sleek. It runs like a dream and other than the fans being slightly loud, which is really no problem, its an amazing buy.

Awesome Laptop!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So it is still brand new for me and I've only used it minimally so far. But it seemed to be the best deal I could find and is a good amount of hardware for the price. Pros: - i7-8750 HQ \ - Nvidia GeForce GTX100ti with GB DDR5 - Both an SSD and HDD (Although you can always add these yourselves, it was nice to have come with both) - Cooling system is one of the best Ive seen so far (Includes an Ultra-Boost button to give you extra cooling, but never needed to use it.) - Fan disperses air away from the back screen of the laptop, rather than the side of the keyboard. (I prefer this design better) - Uniquely designed Cooler Boost Technology keeps your laptop performing cool and efficiently - Program your game specific macros on a full color backlit keyboard by SteelSeries - Nahimic 3.0 Surround Sound virtualization - Equipped with HDMI, mDP, USB, and Type-C ports - Wired and wireless(802.11ac) internet connectivity - 1 Year Warranty with 1 time accidental when registered with 30 days of purchase.

Best Bang For Your Buck Gaming Laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently acquired my first "big boy" IT job, so I figured I needed a laptop worthy of an IT professional. I don't make bookoo bucks so I decided on a budget between $1,000 - $2,000. After days upon days of thorough review, I landed on the GS63 Stealth. I couldn't be happier!!! What I love: The processing power for a laptop weighing under 5.0lbs is outstanding! This thin beast packs a lot of punch for such a portable convenience. I pushed WoW on High and did not notice a stroke of lag. I hardly noticed any noise over the game. This model comes with 3 USB AND a Thunderbolt 3!!!! WAAAAAAAA!!!!! Agian, under 5 lbs The custamizable and multi lit keyboard seems to be made from the gods. Every key punch feels natural and smooth. Mild Grievances: The touch bad seems a little wonky and difficult to accumulate too. I usually use my Razer mouse so this is not a big issue for me. Overall: One of the best Gaming/Laptops I have ever purchased!!! You will not be disappointed :)

Replaced my desktop, and then some
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As an old-fashioned build-my-own-desktop gamer, my 10-year-old desktop was finally hitting the age where it was time for a complete rebuild. I've also been realizing that laptops these days are essentially equal to all but the most extreme desktop towers. After reviewing one of these in the store, I was certain this was the perfect replacement - I was not disappointed with my decision. Unless you are the most extreme of gamers, this looks to be built to easily last the next 10 years. Pros: Lots of USB 3.0 ports, Ethernet, HDMI, plus a card reader and type C USB Incredible power for a relatively light-weight laptop SteelSeries glowing keyboard was unexpectedly a favorite feature 256GB SSD main drive plus 1 TB secondary drive gives plenty of room for programs and for storage Cons: No DVD/BluRay - need an external Supposed to run fairly cool, but it will still get very hot on the lap. Need a cooling pad if you'll be sitting with it on your lap for a long time.
