It's all I wanted and more from a Laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The MSI GS63 is an all around laptop with superb specs. First of this is my first real gaming computer and I feel it leaves many gaming PC biting dust. The resolution and screen looks fantastic, the keyboard is very good to the touch and has a nice response, only problem is a few keys has some yellow bulbs died. The speed of this is great for photo and video editing. The Thunderbolt connection is very cool to see on a PC, but I what I like the most is that i haven't had any real problems with it. I can happily multitask and fly through my Laptop with out much delay. Battery life is bad but hey a behemoth of a machine like this will suck any power source dry if you let it.

Fantastic Laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop to play games, run light mapping software, and use Adobe Suites. It handles them all very smoothly. The keyboard has a soft feel too, but it feels solid. The RGB keyboard is very eye-catching and very bright, however it does not project the color white very well. It has more of a purplish color to it, but that's no big deal to me, as I usually leave it set to red with a pulse. Do note, the fans are quite noisy. The screen quality is great, and there's no glare on the screen at all, even sitting next to a window with sun coming in. All the USB ports are great, and I'm excited to use the Lightning Bolt to set an external GPU and other peripherals.

Good laptop for gaming
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the best gaming laptop so far, I like the design, and performance. The build quality aluminum case is black and looks great. Sound quality is decent, and graphics are great. I primally use this laptop for gaming like WoW and multimedia like music and watching videos. The display it is 15.6 inches and outputs to Full HD Widescreen LED in 1080p (1920 x 1080). The Storage is 256GB Solid State Drive and 1TB Hard Disk Drive. The Graphics is the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (6GB GDDR5). It has 16GB of RAM, enough to run handle most games and apps. It has the Intel 8th Generation Core i7-8750H with speed of 2.2 GHz. It has an USB 2.0 Type A, 3 USB 3.0 Type A Ports, an HDMI port, a Thunderbolt 3 Port, an Ethernet Port, a built-in webcam, a Headphone Jack, a Microphone Jack, a Kingston Lock, and a Card Reader. What else do you need, ahh? Audio is the Dynaudio Premium Sound Technology, which provides a decent quality sound. Observation: The only thing I don’t like is the position on the cable power connection which is in the middle on the right side of the laptop, but that is my opinion. Summary: This laptop is a good choice for a gaming laptop and I recommend it.

Amazing for gaming and managing coursework
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would like to say that I am very happy I entered into the MSI world. This is my second MSI gaming laptop and use it more for school than anything else. It boots from the SSD, which makes things exponentially faster when turning on your computer.. The 1TB storage is just about enough for most folks. When I do game, I play simulators that have high GPU requirements.. This thing has never hand a single issue with keeping up with those requirements. I use MATLAB and other modeling type software, which also require lots of GPU and memory. Never had one issue keeping up. Amazing keyboard, excellent I/O availability and funcionality. Never been happier with a computer!

My First Gaming Computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far I haven't done a huge amount of gaming on the Stealth GS63, but dang! TurboTax and Microsoft Office products run at blistering speeds. :-) Actually, I wanted an affordable laptop to do video editing, and the GS63 has been a superb choice for that. It's my first machine with a solid state hard drive, and the speeds at which the computer boots up and launches programs is impressive. And...when I do get a chance to dabble a little with fun gaming stuff, it is pretty swell for that too.

NOICE
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very nice. Overall great, I've had problems with the video display on apps like Netflix, Facebook, and YouTube. When it starts to heat up, it does make a rather loud sound. It's slim and lighter weight than other gaming laptops, keyboard gets a lot of compliments!

The Laptop That Can Do It All
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will soon be venturing off to college, and because of our society's current technological requirements, I would be needing a laptop. As someone who also likes to dabble in PC gaming, I wanted a laptop that would be able to run all the current games respectably. Therefore, my perfect laptop would consist of these characteristics: - Thin and light: I want a laptop that is easy to carry around from class to class. - Powerful: I was looking at laptops with at least a GTX 1060. - Great Battery Life: Since the laptop would be used in class, I desired 5+ hours of battery life to make it through a typical day of classes. - Subtle Design: I did not want a laptop that broadcasted to the entire campus that my laptop was a gaming laptop. After a significant amount of time researching different laptops, I settled on the MSI GS63 Stealth-010. Packaging: The laptop is packaged in very secure and impressive packaging. I would not be afraid of having it shipped to my house. Size: This laptop is thin. Really thin. For perspective, the laptop itself is thinner than the diameter of a dime; if you set the laptop and a dime on a level table, the laptop is a shade thicker because it has rubber pads that elevate it off of the surface. It is also very light. It fits well in my standard backpack and it does not feel noticeably heavier than the school-issued Chromebook I carried around this past school year. The power brick on the cord is also smaller than I expected for a gaming laptop (6 x 2 7/8 x 7/8 inches). It fits nicely for transportation. Set-Up: The set-up process was actually relatively frustrating for me and my dad, but the issues were not related to the laptop at all. Other reviews complain of bloatware, but what they really are complaining about is the default Windows 10 applications. Those are stupid to say the least. However, the laptop itself only has a couple default apps and they are all useful. There is the Dragon Center, which allows you to montior your system and is the performance center. There is the SteelSeries Engine app for the keyboard. And there is a photo and video editing software that is not a trial, but a full version and seems serviceable (PhotoDirector and PowerDirector). The set-up issues primarily came from the Windows Update 1803. YouTube videos would not play. After hours of research and restoring backups, I simply downloaded the latest Intel Internal Graphics Card Drivers and everything was working perfectly. After that, set-up was a success. Keyboard and Audio: The audio is not horrible, better than what I was expecting. Don't anticipate booming bass. However, the keyboard is a dream. The keyboard itself is easy to type on and is very responsive. After typing on it for a couple of days, I find it hard to switch to regular keyboard. In addition, there is infinite possibility with the SteelSeries Engine for programming the RGB backlights. The UI for the app is simple and easy to learn, within 5 or 10 minutes I was able to program an American Flag configuration that appears to be majestically billowing in the wind. My keyboard is a bit squeaky, I do not know if this is a common problem but it does not bother me. Outward Appearace: I'm happy that MSI did not decorate this laptop with the cliche gaming laptop bright colors and extravagant designs on the outside of the laptop. It is a simply bushed metal look; the only sign that the laptop is a gaming laptop is the MSI Dragon logo on the top, which is tastefully subtle. There is also a nice felt covering on the bottom of the laptop which is nice for carrying and also when using on your lap. Ports: For being such a thin laptop, MSI was able to squeeze everything you would need. The battery cable also has a 90 degree bend so it does not get in the way. Trackpad: Others have complained about the trackpad. I think it is pretty good. The one issue is that you have to put some pressure to get a click to register, but I use a Bluetooth mouse anyhow (and the connectivity is great.) Battery: This was one of the most important characteristics to me, and the Stealth checks every box. This laptop can get a consistent 6+ hours of battery life when doing light work (such as writing this review), watching videos, etc. When I'm not gaming, I set the laptop to the best battery settings which is quite simple to do. First, I set the laptop to Windows Battery Saver, which is one click in the toolbar. Then, I turn off the backlighting on the keyboard, which is for me FN + 0, then I set the laptop to ECO mode through dragon center, which is FN + F5. All in all, 10 seconds to let your laptop get plenty of battery life. And when gaming, just plug the laptop in. No one should expect any great battery life when gaming. Gaming: This laptop can really do it all. It has a 6GB GTX 1060 and 16 GB RAM. Most importantly, this is a full 1060 and not a MAX-Q variant. The full 1060 is able to perform a little worse if not as good or a little better than a MAX-Q variant of the 1070 in a lot of thin gaming laptops. I have no worries when I download a new game. For example, I can get solid 60 FPS on Destiny 2 with max settings and 100+ FPS on Overwatch's max settings. Storage Space: The 256 GB SSD leaves something to be desired, but there is no issue in using the HDD to save and launch applications, so I do not have a problem. The screen: The one negative point of this laptop. The screen is only a 60 HZ refresh rate. It personally doesn't bother me, especially because this laptop is incredible in all other aspects. Overall, this laptop checks every box that I had for a classwork computer and a gaming computer for a comparatively low price. Anyone who is searching for a laptop with the same expectations as I have without having to spend $2000+ on the only competitor in the Razer Blade should get this laptop.

Overall great gaming computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had purchased an asus laptop prior and later upgraded to this msi gs63 stealth and couldn't be more satisfied with my purchase. This laptop is able to run all my games with ease due to its gtx 1060 6gb graphics card and i7 8th generation processor. Along with its power this laptop is slim and easily portable. I'm very satisfied with this purchase and would definitely recommend this product to any looking for a top of the line gaming laptop.

Fast, lightweight, and beautiful design
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for something easy to carry around that would work fast, handle a lot of work, and provide a headache free user experience. I used to game a bit and knew these computers would provide that, with no intentions of gaming this time around. After starting it up in a matter of seconds, I already knew it was a good purchase. The raised keys make typing easier than the low profile flat keyboards on most laptops(not to mention fitting in a num pad which is always a bonus). There’s virtually zero wait time for anything, plenty of high powered USB ports, not to mention a variety of other ports to make it beyond versatile. I highly recommend this laptop!

Good gaming laptop

Compact, lightweight, great performance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great gaming laptop. It is light, compact and powerful. I’m happy with the purchase. I love the MSI GS63, I really do! I immediately fell in love with it’s outlook on it’s first impression. You know, when you grow older, you don’t want to carry heavier laptops anymore, but you want that extra horses under the hood for any multitasking that comes up in the middle of the day. This is exactly that laptop that satisfies the craving for such. The performance is excellent for it’s class and the cooling is incredible. I think the MSI GS63 definitely deserves a gold. Would I buy this again and would I recommend it to others? Absolutely.

Great Gaming Laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My husband and I needed a new laptop after our last one broke down. We are both into gaming, so we needed a good laptop to keep up with the games we play. We heard good things about MSI so we decided to go with this one. I'm glad we did; It's a great computer! It's super fast, has a pretty screen and plays all of our games really well. It runs very smoothly and quietly while gaming or just browsing the web. An added bonus is the light-up keyboard. You can customize it any way you want. The keys feel really nice as well. The only problem it has is the light under one of the arrow keys doesn't light up very bright. But we never notice it.

Great Power User Laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I mostly use my laptop for work which involves using Adobe CC quite a bit, the apps run incredibly fast and the battery life is quite good for the processing power. I love the RGB keyboard and many people comment about how "cool" my keyboard looks. My only complaints are about the positioning of the mouse pad and some of the key placements. Because the mouse pad is off center to the left a bit my palm tends to hit it when I'm typing and causing it to trigger. The mouse pad buttons aren't the best either, awkward click feedback, but I only use it in a pinch when I forget my mouse. My other issue is with the arrow placements and the 10 key, the zero is made smaller so the natural place you'd strike the zero key is replaced with the right arrow. One of the reasons I bought this laptop was because it had both the 10 key and the arrows so I'm not too upset by it but it does take quite a bit to get used to. Overall it's a very sturdy, well built laptop. It's a bit heavy, but for what you get as far as power and battery life, I have found it to be worth the extra weight.

great for gaming
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a gaming laptop that I could use as an actual travel/work/leisure laptop that could do both work and gaming and this truly exceeded my expectations. The case is a beautiful, aluminum and thin and light compared to the clearly cheaper Omen and bulky and still plastic Alienware equivalents. It is new enough to Best Buy that it wasn't on the shelves in the config I got, which has the 8th Gen I7-8750H and upgraded nVidia geforce 1060 with 6gb rather than the budget 3gb version. Between the new processor and the vidio card, I've been running games like Overwatch and PUBG on high with a standard 60fps and no lag.

a beast in all aspects!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a new overall laptop that was for gaming as well as school and let me say this is perfect! It has an amazing, sleek design, has amazing quality, and so farm its been able to handle any game I've thrown at it like a champ! Can handle 99 percent of all games on high to ultra high graphics settings and that RARE 1 percent it can still get well over medium which still looks great! Its also very light and slim without feeling like its gonna fly off the desk! The ONLY issue I have personally is the track pad isnt the best but that can easily be overshadowed by everything else! I would STRONGLY recommend.

Perfect gaming laptop!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ive been looking for a desktop replacement for quite sometime. The problem with most laptops in the 1000 to 1500 range have integrated graphics or shared ram only. Not only does this model have a 1060 6gb discrete graphics card, the CPU is close to beating out an I7 7700k overclocked desktop CPU. So far it keeps gameplay silky smooth at 60fps and maxes around 100. The fans can be a bit loud but nothing a pair of headphones cant fix. The cons are nitpicky like subpar speakers that fire down but the copius amounts of USB ports and thunderbolt 3 make up for it. Overall this laptop is a straight 1080p 60fps beast!
