I'm not a gamer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. That's right, I'm not a gamer, so if that is your interest, I can't tell you much. I bought this computer hoping to be able to run CAD software reasonably well without spending thousands more for a workstation grade laptop. I haven't had enough time to evaluate all of the software that I will be using (Solidworks, Inventor, etc.) so all I can comment on at this point are my general impressions of the computer. Overall, I'm very pleased with it so far. I don't like spending money on electronics, and I hate spending money on electronics and then have to deal with a lot of problems, fixing things that ought to just work, so I was a little unsure of buying a computer with a dragon on it :} But I've been impressed. Considering the high performance hardware packed into this thing, it is quite slim and sleek, and won't look too out of place in a business meeting. The quality feels pretty good, especially opening and closing the lid. The keyboard is ridiculous and the first thing I did was to turn the lights off (ok, first I had to try "disco" mode), but later I changed it to a simple single color except for the f, j, down arrow and 5 keys to help me position my hands in low light. The light color varies significantly from key to key when assigned the same color, poor uniformity of the LEDs I suppose, but it isn't horrible. Performance on office productivity apps is very good, unsurprisingly. The only CAD I've installed so far is Fusion 360, and it will smoothly rotate their sample Formula SAE car model like an ADHD kid with a fidget spinner. Unless I run into some hardware incompatibilities because I don't have a 'certified' quadro card, I think this PC will perform quite well with large assemblies and even moderate FEA simulations. There isn't too much bloatware, other than all the gaming 'enhancements', and those haven't gotten in my way yet so I've left most of them installed. Other than that there are some simple games like candy crush and some preloaded Norton utilities, but that has been easy enough to uninstall (freed up several BG on the SSD) and I haven't been bothered with a lot of popups. The only snag so far has been after a windows update, I couldn't play videos. I manually updated the drivers for the on-board video chip and the Nvidia and it has been fine since. Oh, and it would go to sleep automatically when plugged in even though the power option was set to "never". Had to enable "show hibernation in power menu" option and now it works properly. Occasionally my bluetooth headset says it is connected but I don't get sound through it. As soon as I open the bluetooth control panel I get sound. Bur really, overall, living with this computer has been pretty trouble free. Some other misc. observations: -The keys on the number keypad are a little narrow so can be a little tricky. But at least it has a dedicated number keypad. -The trackpad makes a noise whenever I tap it. I don't use trackpads much, but I don't think this is typical. It sounds a little loose. -It is supposed to support two external monitors. I haven't tried this yet, maybe it is possible through the thunderbolt port or maybe it will require one monitor on an HDMI cable and one on a display port cable. The MSI manual online is no help at all. -Plenty of usb ports and a thunderbolt port should make it easy to connect other devices. -It isn't very loud compared to the Dell workstation I had at my last job. You do hear the fans but it doesn't sound like a jet. Really I'm pretty happy with this purchase, and I'm not one to get excited about new electronics.

Good for traveling away from your desktop.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this laptop for school and the occasional traveling, so being a gamer myself, I would require hefty hardware. This laptop has about everything, a good 1TB HDD, a nice 256 SSD, and a nice almost silent running time. It can run almost as well as my desktop, but that comes as expected since this fine laptop contains a nice compact GTX 1060, while my desktop has a good MSI GTX 1070 TI. The only problem I'd have would be the power supply size but that's not much of an issue.

Great balance of price and power
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a gaming laptop that could play modern PC games and render videos for YouTube. I was comparing this to a similarly speced ASUS laptop but went with this one due to its satisfying keyboard and extremely light frame. I haven't been disappointed. It's light, quiet and has a ton of power. The customizable RGB keyboard is sleek as well. Overall, it's an impressive machine for the price, looks good, set-up is a breeze and it's done everything I've asked it to without a fuss.

Keyboard is great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I play a lot of games that are keyboard only, so the steel series keyboard was a huge factor in getting this computer. The anti-ghosting keeps my inputs from dropping, and the layout is just like my old laptop (which also has a full-size keyboard). I didn't think I would care about the crazy gaming keyboard lights, but I instantly started using them because they are quite fun. The specs are also top of the line, it can play No Man's Sky on high settings without any chug.

Seems Great!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far the startup process and feel seem smoothless. I am having an issue with downloading adobe programs, but that is neither here nor there on the computer product as I believe it is the automatic Norton Security Program. I thoroughly enjoy the ability to customize the performance, as often I will be using the computer for online documents or for photoshop and being able to change the computer to work best for one stage or the next is relieving. I am excited to pursue my careers on this laptop as it seems to be quality manufacturing. One note, the speakers are not that high quality, so I would invest in a small Bluetooth speaker (I have my Lansing Outdoor Speaker hooked up and it has been quality sound with quality imagery). Specs and pricing are fairly accurate which I highly appreciated!

Powerful and sleek
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this laptop for my work, where I needed something with a lot of processing power and a dedicated GPU for the type of development work I'm doing. I liked it so much I bought one for personal use as well. It's thin, relatively light, but wide enough to have a dedicated number pad. It has ample USB ports as well, which was an issue I've had with previous laptops. Also this is a minor thing but I like the soft felt bottom, it feels good in my lap. A++++ Definitely a buy!

Excellent Laptop for Gaming and More
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just purchased this laptop. I was looking for something to play some games on but after initial experience, I intend to use it as my everything computer. Very high quality in all aspects. Love the design. Excellent screen. Very fast!! I finally got it set up to play my favorite game. It so overly exceeded my expectations. Can't wait to use it for other games that I never could have thought to use on my last laptop. Very happy with the purchase and worth the expense.

Amazing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The laptop is sleek, portable, thin, and lightweight. It's one of the sexier looking laptops. On top of that, the performance is amazing. For its price, you get more than what you would expect. The only cons would be the screen (which is better with the $2000 version laptop). For all the specs, only displaying it on a 1080p 60 Hz screen is somewhat disappointing. However, if you're in it for the games, school work, your job etc. This laptop will last you easily 10 years.

No Regrets
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love how light and powerful this computer is. I'm a student studying game design and most of my work is done in libraries and coffee shops. I needed a light PC to carry around that was also powerful enough to run my various game engines and 3D modeling software. The GS63 stealth took on the challenge and passed with flying colors. Now I can keep all my projects in one pace. No longer do I have to carry a USB drive back and forth from my desktop to the computer lab.

Excellent Laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a student and was on the search for a laptop. Do not be intimidated with the price, the computer will give you everything it is worth. Excellent computer, high speeds, and overall high performing. The only con I could think of is storage and battery. But both are very great compared to most computers. I am very impressed with it, and best of all it is very light to be taken with me to my classes, and when I have downtime I can hop on my favorite game. 5 stars.

Great Gaming/School laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wanted a gaming laptop, but also a laptop that was built to be carried around school and also easily do all my school work. This computer is great for both, being much sleeker and a little lighter than your traditional gaming laptop. It also looks amazing, I love the keyboard. Only negative thing I would say is the touchpad, mine is a little loose and it is a very loud click, however I use a mouse so it is not a big deal. Excellent laptop! Would recommend to anyone

Super pretty and fast to boot.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The keyboard and customization really to bring out the beauty in this laptop. I know custom back lighting is nothing new in keyboards but the clear edges add that extra pop to it. It is also super light compared to other gaming laptops which makes it very versatile and mobile. The only negative thing I can think of about this laptop is the track pad is kinda awkward to use, but it's not a huge deal because most of the time you game with a mouse plugged up.

Gaming, Power, Enough Said
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bit of a story with me and this laptop. Began with getting a previous model as a gift. Fast forward to just under a year, and for some inexplicable reason, the hard drive gave out. To this day I do not know how or why, and from what I have seen and researched, it is just bad luck not bad craftsmanship. Even still, with the SSD as a backup, I was able to still run at full performance. However! The year I had with that laptop was phenomenal, outperforming even some of my friends' dedicated, self-made, gaming towers. I played some of the most intense games at some of the highest FPS's I've gotten anywhere, let alone on a laptop as small as this. And that was only on the previous model, with an overhaul of the MSI Dragon Center (a sort of customization and performance/how-it-runs menu, including the RGB keyboard, and things like battery life and brightness to fan speed), and probably more fun things I haven't discovered, means that it is even better and more awesome than before. The touch pad click is a tiny bit clunky, but since I always use a mouse, it is no problem. In fact, I would almost count it as a bonus, because my hands have a tendency to sometimes hit the track pad, and it doesn't screw me up in the middle of that intense showdown. Overall, An amazing laptop, with a lot power. So good that I just had to get it all over again. If you've stuck with me this long, let me tell you that MSI has the best packaging that I have ever seen. It is all in the style of tight and compact, yet secure and protected. The best unboxing experience ever, with a lot of detail and satisfaction to be had. TL:DR Worth it, power and portability, when you get it, be ready to be amazed.

Slim yet a Power House for all my needs
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent all round laptop, Games fly on this thing 60FPS and if games fly everything else is blazing fast. I am surprised on the value. Full 4K screen would be nice but this screen is very good. No complaints. You buy this thing you will be happy. I would recommend. Design is Slim, keyboard lights are a gadget and keyboard feel is like my MacBook Pro. Very Satisfied. I might just buy another one and replace my MAC for fraction of the price.

I would definitely recommend this laptop!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My friend had this laptop last semester and it worked perfect for gaming and class work in one package. Plus it is incredibly light and thin so it is perfect for carrying around campus. Now I have it and am loving every minute of using this device! Only down side is it is a little bit gamer chic for my liking. Other than that absolutely no complaints!
