I respected MSI as a company previous to owning this laptop because my friend had a laptop just like this beauty. Its design is so perfect and sleek and yet it packs so much power. The metal design was a must for me because i am sick of the feeling of a cheap laptop and this baby is nothing like that. I can already tell i'm going to get years out of this beast.

I started playing games and was looking for good laptop/desktop. This was one of my picks. Went to the store and was immediately sold on the laptop. Really well built. Things I like: - Slim, Portable, - Viewing angle in the screen - Build Quality - Storage - Wide Range of Ports Things that could be Better: - Screen @ 60hz(Should be minimum 80hz)

This is by far the best laptop I have owned. I have long been a fan of Steelseries products and was more than happy to see their keyboard on the MSI laptop. The MSI is crazy fast with amazing graphics. I paired the laptop with a Steelseries mouse and could not be happier. MSI is highly recommended and ready to handle any game or software with ease.

I just bought this laptop so I may update this review the more I use it. So far I'm happy with it. I like the MSI Dragon Center. It's nice to see what is going on with my system in one one app. It does come with a few other programs and apps that I don't really need but I just got rid of them. Compaired to other gaming laptops in the price range this one comes with 100mb more SSD space and the light up custumisable keyboard is a nice touch. I can't say to much more because I haven't use it to much. As I said in the beginning, I will have to add to this review the more I use it.

This is fantastic for any tech professional as it doesnt have the traditional gamer look. I have this and a 2017 MBP but i prefer to use this for multitasking and gaming in free time along side other great computers. Very premium.

General performance: This laptop can handle just about any everyday task with ease given it’s an i7 with 16GB of RAM. There’s no real concern here. The main point to make is that the SSD is just a SATA M.2 drive so don’t expect anything special. It’s pretty fast but not even the fastest in this class. The HDD is just your average laptop drive and a hybrid disk would have been better suiter for game loading times. Gaming performance: The full GTX 1060 6GB in this model can play just about any modern game at a minimum of medium settings. I have yet to find something that didn’t run smoothly at 60fps and you can forget about a lack of VRAM. Also, the GPU tends to boost to a wonderful 1800+MHz easily in my unit which for a nice bonus. Build quality: This is the main negative. The top is a nice metal but everything else if cheap plastic feeling, the display hinges are awful, and the laptop make noises that sound like it could snap in half at any point. I am very disappointed in this. More on the display hinge mechanism; the bottom of the display is curved and rubs against the laptop body for some reason. It seriously needs fixed next generation. Display: Average is the only word I could use. It looks great but for a laptop at this price point something like 120Hz or thinner bezels should be expected. Keyboard & trackpad: The keyboard is nice and fully individually backlit. Steelseries designs nice keyboards but Engine 3 is still awful for adjusting them. MSI should partner with someone better. Also, the selection of FN keys is poor. There is plenty of room for more media keys or macros. The touchpad is not Windows precision, a shame for 2018, and required increasing force to press the closer to the top your finger is. Its nice size is the only thing going for it. Software: A $1500 laptop should include Windows 10 Pro without the bloat, full stop. Other: Other minor complaints include: the power and status LEDs are annoyingly bright and should all be located together, the power button doesn’t go on the side on a 15” gaming notebook, the motherboard is upside down requiring full disassembly to even upgrade the RAM or SSD. So yes, I’d still recommend this laptop to someone, but it’s right on the border of driving me nuts in a few ways. Still, the performance is outstanding, and it has a pretty good value when grabbed on sale at Best Buy. A side note, I bought this to replace a ROG Zephyrus M that died within a week and I’d say MSI makes a better laptop by far despite it having some things I gripped about in this review. All of my MSI products last.

This laptop has an excellent IPS display that works wonderfully if you're intending to do any design work on this particular model. The performance in games with the GTX 1060 is also particularly outstanding for the price. The latest i7 processor works like a dream. I would definitely recommend for those who value portability and screen performance.

I purchased this computer to take CADD classes at the University of Central Missouri. The Solid State Memory and onboard hard drive in conjunction with the graphics card and dedicated graphics memory in addition to the 16 GB memory makes a very powerful combination. The keyboard layout is very comfortable and the included 10key is awesome!

I use this laptop in college mainly for school work, but also to play games in my free time. It handles every game I've tried so far, and does tend to get a bit hot, but to me it's not a big deal. Overall, would recommend this to anyone looking for a good gaming laptop.

If you are seeking a laptop that is capable of doing school work, gaming on occasion, or maybe media this is a great option to pick up. I was originally going to purchase just a standard HP Envy, but since I play the occasional game or three, i figured I would spend the extra hundred or so dollars for the graphics card and replace my aging PC. The system runs great, often I have settings for games running on max, with CPU temps running under 70-75C. The storage is great with the SSD and HDD, and the laptop has a lot of awesome features, such as VR. Overall a good pick!

Light, fast for video processing, vibrant for full color spectrum, smooth for online gaming, audio well balanced, professional work force for almost any heavy data software. Definitely recommend.

This MSI laptop has to be one of the best electronics purchases I have ever made. The great versatility and usability of this Laptop is unmatched for the price. The Intel i7 with a SSD, 1 TB of storage, 16GB Ram and the Nvidia graphics card makes this thing unstoppable. I would recommend this laptop to anyone. Extremely satisfied customer.

Decided I needed a new laptop for school. I was originally going to get the Dell XPS but omeone else recommend this laptop. I was a little skeptical at first because I never heard of the brand, but I'm so glad I bought this! Amazing graphics card (great for gaming), performance is great for the price, decent amount of storage. I rate A++!

This is a great gaming laptop. Coming from cheap and generic laptops, you can tell the quality is way better. The graphics card on this thing isn't too bad, everything isn't too over done. But the over done thing that I wouldn't complain would be the beautiful lights on the keyboard. it's quick loads up fast and is reliable. I like it.

Ive had five months to give it testing, Overall performance is very good. The drive needs to be updated to receive the full performance it has to offer you though. Make sure you update the bios,firmware, and dragon center, Otherwise it will likely be glitchy coming out of sleep. For the price and build quality its a nice balance.

It was a toss up between the MSI and the Dell and while the Dell was a cheaper price, I had doubts about the build quality. After my purchase I have absolutely no regrets and I'm loving the speed and minimalistic style. For years, my friend was getting on my buying a gaming computer, so now I finally did it and I'm not looking back!

The components that this laptop has are enough to run basically every game at a decent frame (60+) rate in order to enjoy the gameplay. I also like this laptop because it has a decent keyboard (if you are not going to buy one separate), the screen size is perfect and the laptop is relatively light compared to other gaming laptops.

I needed a new pc to use instead of my desktop for traveling and this pc is great! It is portable and powerful. I love the feel of the keyboard and the mouse is better than most. Even though I dont use it. It has decent heating when you run difficult tasks. And the all aluminum body is a nice touch. If need be I would buy another.

As an engineer student, I needed a computer that would be powerful enough to run CAD, AutoCAD, and Inventor software. My biggest requirements were a decent battery life and a good graphics card. This computer fulfilled those requirements. This computer so far has worked well for me and I'm looking forward to using it in the future.
