I've had my laptop for a bit now and haven't had a single problem with it. It works smoothly, looks good, and isn't heavy for a gaming laptop of this caliber. I am very happy with my purchase.

The computer is simple to use with different programs like Matlab and AutoCad. I enjoy the sleak build and the keyboard colors. Runs very smoothly and have had no issue with it so far.

This is my first gaming PC, and a big step up from the old 2nd-gen i5 Elitebook I was using. I wanted something powerful but portable. This computer has a great combination of CPU, GPU, storage, I/O, packed in a slim form factor at a good price point. I looked at a few ultrabook alternatives (HP Spectre, XPS 15, Asus Zenbook Pro), but they all cost as much or more than the GS63 and only come with a 1050Ti at best (probably bigger batteries and 4k screens though). Pros: the performance, everything mentioned above, and the individually lit RGB keys. Screen looks great too. Cons: Touchpad buttons are really firm, heavy power brick, inconvenient power outlet location.

I bought this laptop to take to college with me. Since I am majoring in Mechanical Engineering, I needed something that would be able to run intensive CAD software but still be portable enough to carry around campus. This laptop fits the bill perfectly. I haven't found any other laptop that fits this much power into such a lightweight frame. I like that the laptop doesn't look too much like a gaming laptop on the outside, so I don't advertise to the whole campus that I am carrying a gaming computer (You can turn the flashy lit up keyboard on and off pretty easily). The whole thing is very lightweight (4.39 pounds) and thin, making it easy to fit in my backpack. The bottom of the computer has a felt covering that feels high quality and makes holding it on your lap more comfortable because the felt doesn't get as hot as the metal. The main body is made of metal and feels very sturdy and well built. The keyboard feels nice, even though I don't particularly like the font they used on the keys, and the inclusion of a number pad on a 15.6 inch laptop is a nice bonus. The screen is pretty much your generic matte 1080p 60hz laptop screen (not touchscreen). I'm not a stickler for color accuracy or any of that, so I don't have anything to say about that. I am not a serious gamer by any means, but I downloaded Fortnite just to see how well the laptop performs, and it did not disappoint. After updating the graphics drivers and turning on v-sync to eliminate some screen tearing, the laptop was able to run Fortnite at a constant 60 frames per second on the game's "epic" (maximum) settings. I believe the laptop could render more frames, but I had it limited to 60 fps since the screen is only 60 hz anyways. While gaming, the laptop did get pretty hot (you wouldn't want it on your lap) and the fans got rather noisy, but this was only after gaming for 2 hours straight. During normal use the laptop stays nice and cool and the fans mostly stay very quiet (they occasionally rev up to disperse heat and then go back down a minute later). The speakers on the laptop are perfectly acceptable for normal use. If you obsess over sound quality I would assume you have a headset anyways. The laptop has lots of ports for a 15 inch. There are three usb 3.0 ports on the left and 1 usb 2.0 on the right. I assume the usb 2.0 is for your mouse. I am surprised that this laptop has an ethernet port, as most laptops this thin don't have them. The battery life on the laptop is okay. It doesn't run down too fast with normal use, but I would be hesitant to leave the charger at home when you go to work or school. If you are gaming, you'll want to have the computer plugged in. I am still getting used to most of the preinstalled software on the laptop. Some of the MSI Dragon Center features aren't very intuitive and you have to tinker a lot with them to figure out how to use them. The computer comes preinstalled with lots of third party (not Microsoft) photo/video editing software and other software that I can't see myself ever using and I will probably delete most of it. All around this laptop is a very high quality piece of hardware that knows what it is (a gaming laptop), and doesn't try to be anything it's not (like a 2 in 1). If you are looking for a traditional style laptop that is both lightweight and extremely powerful, this is what you're looking for.

The fact that it has dual storage, top of the line specs and graphics and decently portable makes it an excellent value for its price.

    Slim, Portable Laptop

I wanted to replace my Asus that I've had for about four years now. Every time a Windowns update rolled by, the mousepad would lose its multitouch function. The sales rep who got my sale tried to convince me to buy an Alienware or Razer. I wanted a decent computer I can play a few games on, run reliably, and be able to use it for work in the future. This is a good MSI laptop. Yes, you can change each key on the keyboard to be different colors. The charging cable is nice and long (about 10 feet) but weights nearly half the weight of the computer. The computer itself is super thin and smaller than my Asus. My husband watched me set it up last night and he made note (as someone who has an Alienware) that he would likely buy an MSI once his Alienware dies. Cons? The fans could be considered loud. But some people need to realize that this is an ultrathin gaming laptop. All that heat needs to go somewhere or else risk melting your internals. If you're picky about fingerprints, this computer does show them really bad. Also since this has two hard drives, you have to finagle the storage options and settings to get things to your liking.

In my recent days, I have purchased a a somewhat variety of laptops. Ranging from Lenovo, to hp, or even asus, but this gaming laptop takes the cake. I originally wanted a laptop in hopes in aiding my Engineering major coursework to run programs like CAD and other software that demands optimum graphics. At this point, I would definitely recommend in the purchase of this laptop. Not only can it run the software with speed, but it also does its fair share in running video games as well (which was its intended use anyways). Overall, price was worth it for me in hopes of giving me something that allows for prolonged usage and efficiency.

needed a laptop for my automotive job training and the occasional gaming. it was a super hard choice to make but im GLAD i picked out my MSI. it works great for live steaming data from cars/trucks and seems faster than the shops own gm computers so that already made me very happy. im also a religious fallout gamer and alot of people mad dog laptops for the limits of power but the this system does it wonderfully even with mods and the screen quality is perfect! only issue i have was battery life when it came to fallout gaming but i cant complain because its a massive open wold rpg style game series and 3hrs of fun is good enough for me!

It’s my first laptop ever and I like it so far. When I received and opened the box, everything was at it was supposed to be. The packaging was nice and the laptop was well protected. It’s very thin, despite the hardwares installed, and is kinda stylish. The only downside to look and exterior is, back of the laptop is fingerprint magnet and if you are a sensitive person it would kinda bothers you. The screen is good and relatively color accurate. The trackpad is accurate but i don’t like the button functionality. They are kinda stiff and annoying to my taste. Overall, I haven’t had any problems and I am very happy with my purchase.

I am not a computer gamer, but I mainly purchased this laptop for my graduate/masters program in computer systems. I did my research and looked at all my options. I also work in the IT field, doing heavy loads of analytics/data management, so this was a affordable version of a high specs computer. I don't usually for for the trends, and don't need a flashy computer, but I do did need is a computer that can hold the high loads and can handle high levels of programs, this fit the bill. Some of the mainstream models like the Dell XPS or Surface Pro 2 just did not have the same level of upgrades while staying in the price range.
