Bought this laptop mainly for running engineering simulations as well as small amounts of gaming. The resolution is amazing and smooth and has various levels of customizability. The computer is fast and hasnt had any issues or malfunctions. Battery life is as expected for a computer as capable as this. Overall a good purchase and well worth the money!

Picked this laptop to replace my four-year-old Lenovo laptop and so far I have not regretted my decision to switch brands. I have been using this laptop for about two weeks and I am very happy. The keyboard is snappy and responsive and the battery is decent considering the meaty hardware under the surface. I am definitely pleased with this product.

I got this laptop as an excellent graduation present, as I am going into Electrical Engineering at college and needed a laptop to handle the rendering programs my major required. I have not yet begun college at the time of this interview, but this laptop, in terms of its sheer specs, runs circles around Dell or HP workstation laptops while costing and weighing far less. The keyboard LEDs and the options for them are a fascinating aesthetic feature. This laptop outperforms my old clunky desktop in every single regard. Gushing praise aside, there are a few minor cons that I would like to mention. Apparently, my power button (not the button you press, but the actual switch) got slightly misaligned at some point even though I have not dropped it, and have really not even taken it from my house much. This resulted in me having to mess with the power button for 5-10 minutes just to get the laptop to turn on. Eventually, I tired of it, and pried open the bottom, and was able to very easily press the switch firmly into its socket. So definitely an easy fix, but it shouldn't happen in the first place with a $1500 laptop. Not sure if I got a lemon, manufacturing defect, or what, but worth noting. (A side note, when I opened the bottom, I couldn't get the whole cover off. It was either wedged in there or there was a lock I missed (yes, I removed all the screws). If you plan on opening yours to mod the insides, you may have some difficulty. I only own this one, though, so I can't say if it holds true to others.) Another annoying issue that I haven't yet been able to resolve is that, despite setting all the sleep/power off settings to "never", it invariably turns off after 15 minutes of inactivity (Also, not sure if it's speakers, hard drive, or something else, but there is a disconcerting "pop" sound when it does so, right after the fan speed increases.) This can get a little annoying if you've pulled up some reference images or if you want to leave your laptop on while you get lunch. It was a much more annoying issue when my power button wasn't working properly. I want to specify that it did not come out of the box this way, it developed some time afterwards. I will edit this review if I find a fix. Lastly, when running games off the battery, these games perform pretty poorly. For example, when playing Injustice 2 when not plugged in, you quite literally fight in slow motion. If you plan on playing games on the go, bring your charger and maybe turn down your settings. Despite these issues, it is still, all-in-all, a incredibly well-performing laptop. This will definitely be my go-to computer for the foreseeable future.

I will have to say that I am impressed with the updates that MSI has done to their gaming series of laptops since I bought my last one almost 3 years ago. It was time for the wife to get mobile and this is the perfect computer to take the desktop quality of gaming portable. I have loved my first MSI and I am positive I will love this one as well.

The laptop is great, it's fast and the screen quality is sharp. I've played the Witcher 3 and it worked smoothly on the high settings. I previously own a MacBook so I thought this laptop may take some time to adjust to but it turned out very easy to transition and simple to use. The fans aren't too loud but can be bit annoying at the beginning.

This laptop is great for gaming and the keyboard is really nice

This has been my first ever gaming laptop purchase, and I have so far been very happy with it. The computer as a whole runs well and there's a lot to be said about its general performance and gaming capability. In terms of everyday performance, it is fast in almost every aspect, due in part to its SSD and 16 GB RAM. The i7 is also 8th gen, so it's working pretty fantastic. You can browse 50 Chrome tabs while watching a movie without any slowdown. But this is a gaming laptop, so let's get into that. It can run most last-gen games I've played (Bioshock Infinite, Borderlands 2+Presequel, etc.) on Ultra settings at 60 fps. On modern games, like Battlefield 1 or AC Origins, you can play on high to very high as well. The 1060 is a huge step up from previous generation "equivalent" GPUs so that's always a plus. Overall, I found this to be a wonderful purchase as it's my daily driver and a gaming beast when I need it to be.

I am a college student studying Cybersecurity and this laptop is exactly what I need in order to complete my assignments and use specific programs. My previous laptop was extremely slow and did not have the capability to run or load what I needed. I also use this laptop for gaming purposes and it runs very smooth. I am so happy with this laptop!

I needed to upgrade from my 8 year old laptop. I'd previously purchased an MSI desktop for my son. He loves it and its performance. So I went with an MSI laptop as well. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. This machine is so light weight and lightning fast. The Windows 10 OS makes everything easier to work with the display is crisp and clear.

As a flight attendant, I need something majorly light and secure, this bad boy does the job, every night im in a hotel on overnights and usually playing any game without hassle. I would recommend this laptop even if you ain't-a gamer, the ladies love the light show it preforms. Pros: Best ive used in a while Cons: None that I have found.

Best laptop I have owned in my life its light and stupid fast

My son is almost 14 years old. Bought him this laptop because he loves gaming online. It is very fast and he generally has no issues with his games crashing. The one draw back was within 10 days of purchase one of the fans went, the bearings of the fan. We had to return it and just order a new laptop. This one has held up so far.

I love it! Haven't had it long, but it's lived up to every expectation that I imagined for my situation! I would of loved more Thunderbolt ports, but still a 5 star in my humble opinion. It looks great and performs just as good! Wish I would of bought it sooner! The i7 6 core processor is also mind blowing! Must buy if it's in your budget!

After my hard drive failed on my 6 year old Toshiba laptop, I needed to get a new one for my Electrical Engineering studies. I purchased this laptop while it was on sale for $1450, and I have been in awe of what it can do. The graphics are far superior compared to my old laptop, and I can easily run engineering software such as MATLAB.

I was looking for a computer that would serve double duty for college and gaming. I looked into apple computers, and other PCs. This computer came highly recommended, and was more cost effective than its apple counterparts, and PCs are better for gaming anyways. I just finished setting it up and am super satisfied, would highly recommend.

This is an excellent laptop that can handle anything you throw at it. I am a college student at Tamu in College Station and I use this laptop for everything. I use it for notes, essays, gaming, and Design programs. 10/10 would recomend to any college student gamers out there. (First time playing games on max setting and its amazing!!!)

Great laptop for gaming and school. The only complaints I have are the fact it took some working out and updating of drivers in the beginning to get everything working smoothly, though that may not be the manufacturers fault. The trackpad isn't the best but isn't the worse, and the same goes for the speakers. None of the cons are bad enough in my opinion to stray choosing this laptop, unless you game with trackpad. Games run fantastically. The only issue I've had with a game so far wasn't because of the computer but because of the game itself. 8/10 would recommend.
