This is a gaming laptop and therefore has a separate video card with additional memory on it. A huge plus when running a program like Photoshop. My previous laptop was a touch screen and I had a lot of trouble with it. This laptop does not have a touch screen which was a big plus for me. Also, when I did my research, I found out that MSI actually beat out Apple at the CES show this year in Las Vegas. Since so many photographers tend to use Apple products and I prefer Windows, this was another big plus for me. Also, from what I can see in my limited testing, it seems to handle Photoshop well (with all of the memory it has, I don't forsee running into a problem with it). There are a couple of aspects that I would like to point out not to deter someone from buying the laptop but just so that you don't go into it blind and things I hope the manufacturer will consider when designing the next models of their laptops. The big one is the keyboard. On other laptops that I have had, there has been a standard (Courier or Times Roman) font. This one is different. The letters are rounded and the zero has a slash going through it like the Europeans or military write the number. Also, the W and E look like the E turned 90 degrees and the D and the O look very similar on the keyboard. I am used to the Delete key being above the Backspace key and the Windows key being on the left side of the Space Bar. These are things that I can get used to, but for a little bit I am sure I will make some errors until I do get used to it. Overall, I would give this laptop a 4.5 out of 5 but that option is not available to me.

I'm excited to be using my first MSI laptop! Every review I've watched or read mentioned the speed and incredible performance of this machine. I originally assumed it was all hype. After using it for myself, I've determined that the excitement is justified in my opinion. So far I'm very happy and would recommend it.

This laptop was super easy to set up. It boots up in less time than I can take a sip of coffee in the morning. It's light, fast, has great battery life, and runs everything I've thrown at it without a hiccup. I love the LED's in the keyboard, helps me see during nighttime gaming sessions or work. Worth every penny.

When I received my new msi I was pleasantly surprised before I even got it out of the box. I was packed very well and when I first turned it on it was easy to set up with Cortana. I haven't used it extensively yet but so far set up was a breeze. It is fast and responsive. I would highly recommend this computer.

So when I first purchased it seems I may have gotten a defect one that was giving me the blue screen of death since the first day. I went back to BestBuy and they exchanged it and I have not had one issue with the new one. It works super fast and it has been extremely reliable. Very happy with my purchase.

I love this laptop so far. I have had it for 2 months great for watching movies and tv, I only play wow, HOTS, and overwatch. It has been great with no FPS drops at all even during high animation scenario. It also works great for just general use. It is very fast. I would highly recommend it to any average gamer.

I bought this laptop as I needed an upgrade from my Macbook pro. I have to say this computer is amazing. I use it for everything from gaming, to writing reports, data analysis and so much more. I highly recommend this laptop to anyone looking for a versatile computer and also a great place to play games.

Well, when I mean "do everything", I mean it is a very well balanced productivity and gaming machine. The new 8th gen CPUs are a huge improvement over previous gen Kaby Lake chips and the GTX 1060 is very capable of delivering solid 1080p performance. I bought this laptop to replace my old Dell Inspiron I bought about 6 years ago. The GS63 is much thinner and much lighter while still packing a ton of computing power and a decently sized battery. So far, my initial impressions are fantastic. The keyboard is comfortable to type on; the RGB lighting is fun to play with, but I prefer to leave it to a static color. The trackpad is good, however I'm getting used to using a trackpad without dedicated buttons. The screen is great; everything looks alright and not blown out. CPU/GPU performance is great. I was initially looking for the 8th gen CPUs because of the extra threads I can utilize for rendering in Adobe and the GTX 1060 can help with GPU acceleration and the light games I play. So far, this laptop is everything I was looking for in a thin and light machine.

I have been using this computer for school and it is great. Haven't had anything it couldn't download and do. Battery life is good and love the battery saving features. Screen lighting and picture are amazing. Especially love the function button feature. Overall amazing laptop. would definatley recommend.

This computer has a lot of great features and is well made. Setup and other installations took about 20 minuets at the most right out of the box. Very user friendly and can be personalized in multiple ways. Highly recommend this laptop for someone who is into gaming or just to have a really nice laptop.

I bought this laptop a week ago and it has exceeded my expectations. It runs every game ive tried on high settings very well. i would definitely reccomend this laptop to anyone and everyone looking for a good gaming laptop. My friend tried using it and loved it so much he went out and bought the same one.

I bought this laptop to functionally run a music program that required a lot of power (compared to a typical mac or other standard laptop) and to also run video games at desirable speeds as well. This computer does both perfectly well and I have not had any issues with it at all so far. Would recommend.

I am extremely new to gaming. I have had no trouble with this PC. I also transitioned over from a Mac book and found this to be easy to use. The laptop itself is so sleek and I love the feel. The trackpad itself I feel could use a little more depth but that’s a personal preference. 10/10 would recommend.

I haven't had this laptop for very long and already I'm impressed. The startup speed is incredible and it doesn't overheat. Lets not forget the fact that I can't even hear the fans when it's turned on. Performs very well with gaming and can handle almost any graphic levels given. Overall an amazing choice.

I bought this laptop to use in college. As a Mechanical Engineering student, I needed something that would be able to run intensive CAD software and SolidWorks but light enough to carry around campus. This laptop is perfect and so much lighter than other gaming laptops. I also like that I can modify the keyboard lights as needed so at times they are flashy and colorful and other times they're not. The bottom of the computer has a felt covering that keeps the computer from getting too hot and the whole computer feels really well built. The keyboard responds well but the trackpad is a little less responsive. The laptop has lots of ports - three usb 3.0 ports on the left and 1 usb 2.0 on the right and one ethernet port. The battery life seems acceptable so far but I'll probably keep my charger with me for late nights in the lab. The speed is fantastic but I haven't actually run the intensive software that will be required yet. I am still getting used to the laptop and its capabilities but so far I'm very happy with the purchase.

Excellent laptop for editing in adobe or final. Great alternative to other high performance laptops because of the superior graphic card alone not to mention other obvious benifits, surprised at how light and compact it is for the large screen size, beautiful design as well. I’ve made the right choice!

I got this laptop to use for college and it is easily the best laptop I have ever owned. It looks beautiful and performs very well. It can run modern games at a good frame rate and can knock out school work without a sweat. Also comes with 4 usb ports which is definitely useful. Well worth the price.

As an upcoming college freshman I've had tons of entrance and placement test that Iv'e needed to complete and the keyboard and processing power of this beast has pulled me through all of them, not to mention that I'm now able to run darksouls III on max settings without giving my computer an aneurysm

I had just got an Asus and wasn't happy with that at all so I gave it to my wife and went to the store and picked up a GS63. I have nothing bad to say about this laptop. Plenty fast, lots of storage, and 4 USB ports. I use Cakewalk and Adobe Premier mostly and this laptop doesn't break a sweat.

All good except loud noise when gaming, other than that its a great laptop. Got this laptop 2 days back but overall it's great.
