I got it a few weeks ago and it works great. The size is good, it is very sleek. It has good battery life. I have only tried one game on it - Far Cry 5 and it works great. Very happy with my purchase.

I have a desktop by same make, needed a new and faster laptop and when I read up and saw it at BestBuy I knew that this is what I needed. So far I'm just started playing with it and it surpassed my expectations. Usually I have to customize my laptops to make it what I need and liked with this one is outstanding. Love the little customization that are already installed like their keyboards .

I had to replace my old laptop that had slowed down to speeds where online gaming was no longer viable. I have been super impressed with the speed of the Stealth both in booting up and in game play. The only problem I have encountered was on the first night when I was typing it would occasionally not pick up on everything I typed if I started typing too quickly, but I was able to mess with the keyboard speed settings and get that resolved. It is lighter than I was expecting, which was a pleasant surprise! The fans do a great job at keeping it pretty cool - there is tons of ventilation on all sides. The only thing I am missing is the number pad for the keyboard, I keep going back and forth when I get new laptops on if I need it because it feels like I hardly ever use it, but then when I get one without it suddenly it feels like I am trying to use it all the time and it's not there!

Powerful School Laptop, Even better gaming laptop

I decided it was time for an upgrade from my old custom Origin PC laptop, after 4 years it just isn't good anymore. Going in to Best Buy I had the intention of getting a lightweight school laptop as my old one was nearly 5lbs, but I also wanted a laptop that could pack a punch and play some of the newer games that are out and that are soon to be released (Talking about you Fallout 76). I started with really loving the new Razer Blade 15 but across the aisle was this MSI. For around $300 less and with the same hardware specs as the Blade except for the Nvidia 1070, this laptop was a no brainer. I'm very pleased first off with the Steel Series keyboard, the feel of it is just so right to me, my typing is smooth and of course I love the backlighting. Next is the screen, as I was used to an old 60Hz screen, the screen on this laptop is absolutely amazing. The color range is beautiful and I've tried multiple backgrounds with them all looking vibrant and natural. The speed and response of opening apps and games is fantastic and because of the 1070 8gb, everything runs fluently and with little to no frame drops on Battlefield 1 with high settings (but make sure to have a cooling mat underneath because the laptop heats up quite a bit.) There's more to this laptop than what I've talked about but in a nutshell, this laptop is a great buy with strong performance and easy portability.

Best Gaming Laptop I've Ever Owned

As soon as I opened the box for this, I was immediately greeted by very nice clear wrapping on another box that said 'MSI'. After opening, I set it up and began to enjoy the beauty it offered. I've owned numerous gaming laptops, and by far this one is the best. The quality of gaming on this thing is freaking awesome, and the streaming quality is really nice as well. I'm a streamer, so I really needed something strong to support everything I'm going to be doing. I also have wrist problems, so I bought the stealth thin because it's very light! Which is why I was surprised by the power it had to offer for such a light gaming laptop. I also love that it's VR Ready, and the fact that I can set every single key to whichever color that I want. Overall, I'm just really pleased with this laptop and I would definitely recommend it for anybody that's looking into buying it.

Performance PC Gaming without the Bulky Tower

This laptop has allowed me to return to PC gaming after a long absence without having to deal with the space and mobility sacrifices of a standard tower setup. This is a notebook that provides an impressive graphical experience whilst also giving the user the flexibility to pack it away into a backpack and sit down at a cafe to browse the web. The keyboard has a clicky firmness that I really enjoy and the rgb led lighting is fun and easy to change on the fly using the dedicated function key. In terms of performance I've yet to fully put it through its paces with some of the more graphically intense games out there but it handles all of the games in my lapsed steam library without breaking a sweat on maxed settings. I've been having a blast with this machine and you definitely get what you pay for in terms of a premium gaming laptop experience.

This laptop is awesome! Tons of power and runs every game I can throw at it. Screen is very bright and the 144hz refresh rate keeps everything looking smooth. Games look smooth but so does simple web browsing. Also, the battery life is great. I took it to work and used it pretty much non stop from 9:30am till 5:00pm in the evening doing web based emails, research, and using the remote desktop to access my company's point of sale program. I recommend using the Comfort setting in the Dragon Center as this keeps the cpu from overclocking the processor and makes a big difference in keeping the laptop cool. I have the laptop sitting on my bare lap as I type this and it is comfortably cool. I can not recommend this laptop enough. Absolutely incredible from top to bottom. Ton of power but looks respectable and classy while in the office at work. Thanks MSI!

I bought this laptop to replace my previous MSI GE60 Apache Pro. I mostly use it for emulation of the PS2, PS3, and Wii U; as well as for school. This laptop is PERFECT. I have been able to run all of my games in very high quality at full speed. The laptop doesn't get too hot, a major issue I had with my previous laptop. The thin and light design makes it comfortable to carry around a college campus all day, but it still feels well built and not at all flimsy or fragile. The metal casing makes for a very sleek design and the laptop is comfortable to use on your lap. the keyboard and touchpad feel nice and responsive. I run it with Ubuntu 18.04 currently, and if Ubuntu is installed in Legacy mode, everything works well. Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase. The only minor downside is that the keyboard lacks a numberpad.

Absolutely blown away by the MSI GS65. Coming from using MacBook Pros since 2010 I am so glad I made the switch. Best thing about this laptop is really the value you get with this Best Buy model for the hardware (144Hz Screen, 8th Gen i7, GTX 1070) compared to any other laptop in this price range. This thing can run all my CAD software easily, and my PC games on max settings. Plus I am able to easily take it to class everyday on its battery charge, and then come home and game hard on it. Would recommend to anyone who is on the fence about purchasing it, as I did a lot of research beforehand, and already friends who are purchasing one after using mine!

I looked at a few laptops before getting this one. I was originally going to get the gigabyte aero but it was a few hundred dollars more than this. So I bought this one, and i couldn't be happier. It runs games like a champ. Doom is averaging around 130 fps and it looks awesome on this screen. The 144hz panel is the show stopper here. Movement looks very fluid and smooth. It was hard going back to 60 when i used other devices. The 1070 max q runs pretty toasty sometimes so make sure you use this laptop in a cool environment. The battery is also great. I'm getting a good 6 hours on this thing while browsing the web and watching videos. If you plan on gaming make sure to plug in before doing so. i got through about an hour and 15 minutes of doom on ultra settings before the battery died while unplugged. The keyboard feels good to me although i haven't used a large variety of laptops. The RGB keyboard looks really cool to me as well. The power adapter isn't too bulky. Its thinner than most power adapters but also wider than most. TLDR: Good all-around but does get hot. Would recommend for gamers who want power in an understated look on the go.

Outstanding laptop but Best Buy specs are wrong

We bought this MSI GS65 laptop from a Best Buy locally after doing much research. We were disappointed after getting it home that Best Buy does not list the specs correctly (STILL!)... the graphics card is actually an NVIDIA 1070-MaxQ, not the 1070. What that means is about 20% less GPU speed than we were hoping for, but it seemed a fair tradeoff for still getting excellent battery life and the thin form factor. Also, the 8th gen i7 processor has two extra compute threads to help (compared to previous i7 mobile generations). Other than that, the track pad was a bit wacky out-of-the-box, but some updates and trackpad setting adjustments fixed it without having to call Customer Service. Overall very impressive and reliable laptop so far, and it is being used for high end graduate school work in computer graphics.

This machine has many pros the biggest of which is the size and weight. It does get surprisingly hot. When playing a relatively low requirements game (Pillars of Eternity) at 60FPS, it got hot enough to be painful on a lap through jeans.

The specs and size / weight of this laptop were exactly what I was looking for due to how often I travel. I have owned it for 1 month now and use it everyday for video game art production. For the price point,I would have preferred higher quality materials used on the construction of this laptop. It feels like it could snap in half or crack if handled wrong. That’s said, it’s light weight and because it sits on a desk most of the time, I’m not terribly worried. I wish the hard drive was not partitioned, though l’ve been using the C drive for software installation and the D drive for personal files. The laptop looks like a matte black Ferrari, so no complaints there! I was hoping for a built in SD card slot as I take a lot of photos, but it wasn’t a dealbreaker for my purchase. So far, everything I throw at it runs quickly, from UE4 to Zbrush and everything in between! The screen shipped with 1 live pixel (which means sometimes I see a green pixel when a white dialog box is on screen) but 99% of the time it’s not visible or I don’t notice it. Reaching out to MSI, they said I could send the laptop back to them to have a look, but that’s not an option for me as it’s my only computer and need to use it as a source of income. This is my first MSI purchase as I have only owned Dell laptop’s prior. In terms of build quality and feel, Dell wins. But in terms of specs, looks and price point, MSI steels the show.

So far this laptop has been amazing with faster speeds and processing then ever before. The Hexa-core, 1070, and large battery are work well together to provide a strong gaming laptop with great battery life. A few things to be wary of: the laptop can get hot under a heavy workload, so be ready for that. Also, the laptop is amazing thin so make sure that your case is extremely protective.

Gorgeous, bright display. Amazingly fast. Very thin, light weight conservative looking laptop. Still trying different sensitivity adjustments on the touchpad, could be better, wish it had physical click buttons. And the touchpad seems over to the left a little compared to my other laptops, so I find natural placement of my hand too far to the right. Keyboard feels a little weird, but it seems to work fine, I can type full speed. Backlit keys are bright, backlighting does not include the symbols you get with the shift key, such as @, #, etc., a little irritating. Even though it is very thin, the case is strong enough. This is the first gaming laptop I have owned, the first MSI I have owned, so it is a little different for me.

Amazing Machine, Fair Price, Hidden Technalities

For whatever purpose you are using this MSI, I can assure you that it is very adequate--in fact it is highly qualified--for whatever; whether it be to play PC games, or edit and create videos, or use any program that requires a higher benchmark performance that your standard computer. I only have used the MSI for a couple of hours, because I just bought it, but there are some things that a user or a future user should consider before buying a MSI or any gaming laptop. The first is that this MSI laptop in particular will NOT CHARGE TO ITS FULL EXTENT, MEANING THAT IT WILL NOT REACH 100% OF BATTERY LIFE. This is meant to preserve the battery longevity, and urges users to not leave the laptop in the AC power adapter especially if it does not require a charge. Another thing that a user should know is that the processor is already prepared and programmed to be overclocked, so if your game, program, or engine requires a bit more power, the new Intel processor will grant you more with its overclocked benchmark power. So far, the MSI has proven to be a formidable machine; very qualified in everything: work and play.

This is my first time switching away from a desktop to a laptop full time. I spent a lot of time researching powerful machines that I would feel comfortable taking to work. Unfortunately, most powerful laptops are designed with young gamers in mind, and are covered in lights and over the top branding that I really wouldn't want on a work machine. Thankfully, the MSI Stealth Thin lives up to the stealth in its name. It's comfortable to use, and easy to transport. There aren't any glaring badges or bright red streaks across the cover. It's a workhorse when I need it, and easily handles a game or two in my off time. I would totally recommend this to someone that is looking for an alternative to plain PCs or the ubiquitous MacBooks.

At first, I was comparing all the different gaming laptops Best Buy had to offer and the MSI GS 63 and GS 65 were my top picks. I chose the GS 65 because I travel a lot and even it has the same screen size as the GS 63, MSI was able to make it smaller. I don't really care about having a number keys, I wanted more portability and power. The GS 65 delivered both. Using it for work is my first priority and the GS65 handles it with no issues, but I also use it for gaming, and it is a breeze. The 1070 max Q handle all the latest games at 1080p in high resolutions with no issues, most of the games are between 60 to 120 fps. If you are looking for a gaming desktop replacement, then the MSI GS65 is it, no questions...
