I purchased this laptop so that I could game when I was away from home. I wanted something thin, lightweight, and with a GTX 1070 gpu. So far I'm very pleased with the purchase. The machine is super compact and very nice looking. It's like a gaming notebook for adults. Looks very premium. I mostly play PUGB and other FPS titles. I'm getting very good frames. Display is gorgeous and the 144hz is something that you should definitely want in your gaming display. I like the key travel on the keyboard, but it did take me a bit to get used to. Plenty of connectivity with a myriad of ports on both sides. Power brick is also compact. The only gripes I can come up with are these. It should have came with an SD card reader... for 2k it should have one. The speakers are not anything to write home about, they are sufficient but not great. Lastly... this thing is a fingerprint magnet. It comes with a microfiber cloth to wipe fingerprints away. You'll be using it. haha None of these were bad enough to deduct a star. This is still one of the best gaming laptops you can buy at a reasonable price.

I've had this machine for just over 2 weeks, and besides a couple of minor things, I only have positive things to say about my experience. Context: When I first starting looking for a gaming laptop, my budget was $1,300; and at this price cap, I had a trade-off - either go for a powerful yet bulky machine, or a slim yet weak one. Neither sit-in well, and during my trip to BB, loved the feel of MSI Stealth Thin and after extensive research, bought it despite having to stretch my budget to over $2,000 (calmed by saying that I've "future-proofed" myself, hopefully). Verdict: I strongly recommend buying this laptop, esp. if you want a strong gaming experience w/ portability and style. In addition, I'd say get an extended warranty (it's a few hundred $$$, but will give you a peace at night). Pros: 1) Slim, and premium looks (solid build quality overall) - love the gold trim 2) Powerful specs (these specs with any other respectable brand will cost you an additional $300-$500) 3) Solid speakers 4) Beautiful screen (gaming w/ 144hz is a different experience altogether) 5) Excellent battery life (6+ hrs) - unheard of in gaming laptops 6) My favorite = no bloatware! Like none, and as such, the load time was super fast Cons: 1) It gets very hot, at times, during gaming (but that's usual w/ almost every gaming machine I've had) 2) The fans can get a bit loud (during gaming) 3) Hard drive capacity (I expected at least 1TB given the other specs) In conclusion, I'd recommend this machine to anyone w/ a ~$2,000 budget (gamer or not).

So this has been a great computer so far. It's actually the first laptop I've ever owned, and this when I personally read reviews mentioning heat and fan noise, I was expecting this thing to be LOUD. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that people were generally over-emphasizing noise, heat and flex. It does flex, moreso than any other laptop I have personally tried out, but it is a thin sheet of metal that while flexing, feels very durable to me. I have absolutely no worries about the durability of this machine. As for performance, I haven't played with fans, over clocking or anything of the like, simply embraced the bit of bloatware (except for Norton, screw that) and tested to see how it runs. My expectations were all passed. This machine ran everything I threw at it like a champ, including the newest and greatest of games as well as some video editing. This edition does come with a bit slower ssd and network card than the other versions, though I haven't tested to see how much of a difference it makes, and it does seem to be a pain to upgrade, though it is doable to somebody comfortable inside of a conputer., So keep that in mind. The keyboard is very nice, I like the feel of it and the per key lighting is absolutely gorgeous. Overall, I love the looks of this computer, it is ridiculously thin and light for the power that you get out of it. I've gotten several compliments on it's looks, being a very classy gold and black. This Best buy model is the best value I've found at this price point, and I would recommend it to anybody who is looking for a top of the line laptop without being insanely expensive.

This laptop is super thin, sleek, and powerful while remaining quieter than an older ASUS 1060 laptop I had. The RGB keyboard is governed by Steelseries' Engine and allows full customization and programming. It's amazing. This laptop kills VR! It has mDP and HDMI which is perfect for the HTC Vive, I can hook this thing up to my TV and headset and play VR with friends and family super easily. The 144Hz panel has amazing blacks, and incredible response time. Little to no ghosting. My only complaint with this model is that it has two M.2 SSD slots. One slot is for Intel Optane memory, and the other is just for basic SATA devices. The laptop only ships with a 512GB SATA SSD, and for a $2000 laptop with an Optane M.2 slot, you really should be getting an Optane SSD instead...

After a weeks worth of use I can say this unit is wonderful. I can multitask, school work and play games at the same time while utilizing discord and minor web browsing! I did experience some low frame rates at home, but where I usually play there are lag spikes often, I would play WOW at a low of 50fps, I will later check this at a better location. 16GB of ram paired with a 512 solid state drive allow this unit to be quick, the hard drive is partitioned out of the box with the OS/recovery on the main at 279GB and the other being the data drive at 179GB, I do not download a lot so this works for me, I have many backup drives for pictures and all other miscellaneous items, There is also a little lag when the dedicated graphics switches from dedicated to onboard depending on the task and has happened. The illuminated steel Series keyboard has many setting that are athletically pleasing but if you want to drain your battery quickly I would suggest to turn this off unless near a power source I am not a huge fan of the mouse pad when gaming, however when utilizing to brows the web I find that it has similar gesture features to that of a mac and it does a good job, I am just worried with the amount of play it has. Something else that should be noted is that the unit might not charge initially once turned on properly you might find yourself at 93% battery, and once plugged in you might have a notification that states the unit is not charging... this was frustrating for me till I searched a few forums and found out that the battery needs to be calibrated in order to charge properly. I had to do this twice before getting it to work properly, the staff at the store had not heard of this issue and offered me to exchange the unit but seeing as to there was nothing wrong beyond having to calibrate the battery I kept the unit. Sound quality was ok. The display is beautiful with very little bezel. The aluminum body and copper trim are nice touch unit also had a bit of weight to it despite being thin. I have yet to get a proper reading as to battery life when just playing games since I have may things going on in the background. As to surfing the web and playing Roll20 it seems long enough, but I will update once I have an actual time frame. So far I am loving this unit. Originally went in thinking of getting a surface book 2 because of battery life, however I went with the GS65 Stealth it is overall a better buy. More to come as test it further.
