Just want to start out by saying how pleased I am with my laptop. Such an amazing product with very few negative qualities. Processor runs very smooth, graphics card (1070 Max Q) provides plenty of firepower to combat any AAA title or below at max settings (easily reaching 60 FPS on graphically intensive games, and 100 FPS in-game for games like Fortnite). 16 GB of RAM is plenty when it comes to high end laptops these days (don't let anyone tell you otherwise). The only negative aspect of this laptop is the thermals (process can reach 90 degrees during intensive workload, graphics card can reach 75 degrees as well). I would not use this laptop to game unless you are strictly placing it on a desk, as it will burn your legs. Although the thermals are not ideal, there are ways that you can undervolt the processor/graphics card to get temperatures to drop immensely, without sacrificing significant performance. All in all, this is a wonderful laptop with few caveats. Thanks MSI.

I was looking to replace my ultra thin notebook since I needed something powerful but still thin enough to carry from home to work. I found out about this laptop while browsing Best Buy. I am happy with this purchase and recommend people get this if you're into gaming not just at home.

This is hands down the best laptop you will get for gaming that’s under 3-4K. The 144hz screen is better than my 400$ 2k monitor I use on my actual desktop. No issues running games on highest settings, and you can even customize the LEDs on the keyboard. Stop looking, start buying.

I've been waiting for an alternative to the Razer line of laptops for quite awhile. Some manufacturers have come close, but MSI finally bridged that gap with this incredibly designed laptop...and even bested Razer at their own game. From the elegant gold accents, black brushed aluminum, and understated logo (finally a subtle gold rather than garish red), to MSI's performance record for gaming laptops, the GS65 checks all the right boxes for an elegant, extremely capable gaming laptop that would easily fit right in on a corporate desk or business meeting. And the Max-Q 1070 graphics coupled with a beautiful, almost bezel-less 144hz screen EASILY carry the day, no matter your favorite type of gaming. I'll take Optimus over GSYNC any day for the long battery life (5-7 hours realistically) on its generous battery. If it sounds like I'm gushing, it's because I am. MSI didn't just hit a home run with this: they hit a grand slam. Easily the most impressive laptop they've made yet.

Once I completed all of the updates, I took this machine for a test drive- blazing fast, 960MB on a GB backbone, 8th gen I-7, and all SSD drive... I would compare it to a surface book 2 for performance and it actually has useful connectors on the sides... for 2/3 the price.

I've used this computer for about a week now and have been for the most part, impressed by its overall performance. Its lightweight design enables this laptop to be suited for not only the gaming environment but also that of an academic setting. Prior to my purchase of this computer, I've taken my notes with the most basic of tools: a pen and paper. This computer has been a game changer since with its 8-hour battery life and portability. As a result, taking notes in class has never been easier. Gaming on this computer has so far been a great experience for me as I've been able to play League of Legends with at least 135 fps on the highest settings. I've also tested watching movies and shows on this computer in which I have not yet been disappointed. The display of this computer is of great quality and has not put much strain on my eyes like my previous laptop has. This laptop is definitely not flawless as one would expect though. The first time I had turned this computer on, I encountered minor keyboard errors. For instance, as I would type out my password on the intro screen, only half of the letters I recall inputting actually registered. It happened again today, a week after the purchase of this computer in the middle of my note taking in which an update shortly followed suit and like before, the issue went away once the laptop had restarted. A second flaw I find which like the prior, is minor. It is a bit more consistent though and it involves the freezing of the mouse cursor for a brief second whenever I’m trying to load something of decent size. This has included opening certain documents, websites and sometimes the league client itself. Over all, I rate this computer a 4/5 but that’s only because of the minor errors I’ve encountered which were a tad bit concerning. 5/5 for aesthetics though as this is one beautifully crafted machine.

This laptop has worked great for me since i bought it. I have played multiple games on max settings and the fps never drops below 60. Most of the time its over 100. I like the small bezels on the sides of the screen. The only negative for me was where the charger plugs in. It just kind of blocks the ports on the side when plugged in.

This laptop is definitely what you’re looking for if you’re looking for a gaming powerhouse. However, a glitch (probably within windows 10) has rendered my internal speakers inaudible after plugging in headphones, and sound does not return to them until I restart the laptop. This happens every time I plug in my headphones, so it’s quite frustrating, hoping to stumble upon a fix in the near future but this is why I gave the product 4 of 5 stars. Otherwise, great rig.

Bought this mainly for gaming and VR while not at home. I have a 980Ti at home and was a little nervous how this laptop would perform in comparison but I'm very happy! The 120Hz screen is so smooth and the keyboard is awesome. I'm very satisfied with the slimness of this laptop for all the features included. With a MacBook Pro as my work machine...I don't find this laptop nearly as large as I expected. In fact, it's only about a .25 thicker than my 2018 MBPro.

Hands down amazing laptop! When I first started looking at this laptop I read a lot of reviews and noticed a lot of people complained about the heat, and the thermal throttling. When I purchased the laptop I undervolted the CPU by -.130v and adjusted the fan curves within dragon center. When I’m at school/work and I’m not gaming I use the CPU for graphics and don’t even have the fans on, I usually sit around 30°C-40°C for casual use. When I get into gaming I use the GTX1070 max-q and have the fam curve adjusted to keep the laptop running at around 70°C. The fans aren’t cracked out as if it’s using the cooler master setting but it’s still loud. Put some headphones on, and everything is amazing. End state: it’s a thin, lightweight, gaming laptop. If you want to keep heat away, undervolt, and increase fans. Final thoughts: I would buy this again, and again... it’s a beautiful machine.

Purchase an Acer nitro five or six months prior to purchasing this labtop and wow what a difference! This computer is awesome it’s fast slick and lightweight compared to pokey forward anchor I bought six months ago would recommend highly to purchase this laptop

It is amazing how such a light, thin, and sleek laptop can pack so much power. I wanted something I can easily carry around without looking stupid if I had to take to a coffee shop for work. It has had no trouble running any of today's modern games or productivity tasks. The only real concern I have is the build quality. The screen is held together by small hinges on both ends of the laptop and there is also a bit of flex to the screen. I don't expect MacBook quality build, but if you are spending about $2000 for a laptop you like it to last. Only time will tell. All in all, I am quite happy with my purchase. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a high performing laptop with a light and unobtrusive design.

Great laptop, super efficient when doing work in autodesk maya (i´m a junior animator so i use a lot of Maya, Ai, Ps and other apps...i know this is a gaming laptop but it works wonders when animating and rendering scenes) great framerate and smooth keyboard.

I purchased this to upgrade from my very old laptop. It is remarkable how powerful this machine is in such a small package. It would've been nice if they'd gotten the thermal throttling under control, but it's just a part of having a thin package with these internals.

Two years and this bad boy is still pumping games for me. I definitely recommend getting a laptop cooling pad for gaming as with most every laptop they get hot during load. Overall, was a great purchase.

So far so good. I have not really put this notebook to the test to see what it can do, but I have no complaints so far. Firstly, this notebook looks amazing, I can hardly believe MSI has managed to fit so much goodness in such a small package. Keyboard feels great and looks fantastic. Great build quality and feels very sturdy and durable. Display looks great and is smooth as a big tub of Land O Lakes butter. I have looked long and hard to find a complaint and here is what I've found. My only complaint is very minor and is sort of hard to explain and will be a non issue for 99% of the time I am using this notebook. It is the track pad. It almost feels textured and my fingers don't glide as easily across the surface of the track pad as compared to my HP notebooks. It is still very usable, it just feels different and the majority of the time I will be using a mouse. So, again this is a non-issue.

Ill start by saying this laptop is phenomenal. It packs quite the punch despite its size, plays current games at ultra graphic settings, all the while staying surprisingly cool. Its a great looking laptop, plus its got a fairly good keyboard and touchpad.

This is an amazing machine, quiet, portable, but more powerful than I could have imagined out of something this size. If you are in the market for a new gaming laptop that packs a punch and can be moved around quite easily, this is, by far, the way to go!

This computer is definitely a great product. If you don't game, then it's like keeping a Ferrari in the garage and never using it. Use it! I spent a lot of hours looking at different gaming computers and this one stuck out the most. I wish I could've afforded the most expensive one, but the wife had other plans with the extra $1,500 I'd spend on it. Plus it took me over a year to save the funds. So I purchased the best one I could afford. I don't spend a lot of time gaming, but when I do, I go all out. Luckily work sends me away for days at a time, and this is when I can catch up on my games. Speaking of work, This computer works great for engineering projects as well. It's light, thin and has a fantastic battery life when not gaming. As I just purchased this laptop the other day, I've spend most of my time with it. Definitely worth the money.
