This is simply the best laptop for me. It is super powerful and super portable which is exactly perfect for me as a college student who likes gaming. The display is just amazing, I got complement from one of my friend who is a Acer user. The keyborad is also adorable, try mode disco and you will love it. The battery life is not very impressive but I think it is actually a good thing because it forces me to not play any game when I take this lape top to class. Generally, highly recommand this model. I think this SATA 512 GB model is particular good because it is cheaper and I do not feel the difference in SSD is causing me any trouble.

So happy with my purchase, its comfortable, light, the screen is beautiful, its thin, and very quiet. I would recommend this to anyone looking at getting a new gaming laptop.

Perfect size and battery life for the college student and powerful enough to play all the latest games. Can't build one with the same specs for the price of this machine.

I've used this computer for college and gaming. So far one of the best computers I've used in my life. The performance is incredible and it runs most of the games with no lag. I would definitely recommend it of you're looking for something powerful but light at the same time.

After getting more deeply involved in PC gaming, I wanted a laptop which I could use both for gaming and work! MSI has done an excellent job of creating a POWERFUL gaming laptop with the portability and professional look of a business laptop. I have been able to run a number of games at Ultra Settings (Overwatch, League of Legends, and Killer Instinct, for example) . The screen is crisp, the keyboard feels responsive, and even during intense moments, the graphics card soldiers through. I would highly recommend this laptop to anyone looking for a spectacular gaming experience on a laptop fit for the office.

This laptop is all around a great laptop, with amazing performance and a lightweight elegant design. For some the price may be a downside but many are willing to spend upwards of $1,300 on a Mac that is functionally far inferior to this laptop and many other lower-priced laptops. For the price-point this laptop certainly packs a punch despite its stealth-book design, with it performing excellent in most games even when thermal throttling. The performance of this laptop really can't be beat for the price it is at, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a functional yet lightweight laptop.

I purchased this laptop primarily for work. I use my computer on average 8-10 hours per day and needed something reliable and easy to carry around while traveling. I compared this laptop to some of the competitors (ASUS ROG, Gigabyte Aero, etc.) and decided on the GS65 for price, specs and looks. PROS: - Price - Quiet - Keyboard is great to type on - Touchpad is very responsive and predictable CONS: - Partitioned hard drive from factory - Charger is heavy and gets very hot - Plastic around keyboard flexes a bit but not a big deal (noticeable to me because I'm coming from a MacBook Pro)

1. Power: Nvidia 1070 maxQ with 8GB GPU makes playing games a breeze. The laptop switches to the Intel GPU for non demanding activities. 2. Display - Full HD display at 144 Hz provides provides zero lag gameplay. 3. Keyboard - Key travel is good. I programmed the color RGB keyboard to act as an equalizer while playing music. Looks amazing! 4. Others - The laptop does not heat up at all while plugged in and minimum heat while on battery. Good number of ports - can be easily connected to an external display. Has high resolution audio. Overall, very happy with this purchase. Exceeded my expectations.

It loads games quickly and there doesn’t seem to be any graphics “lag”. It’s thin and I like how light it is. It’s easy to carry and fits nicely into my backpack.

My 14 year old was ready for a PC as he approaches high school. But, as an avid gamer I was looking for something to pull double duty as a work and gaming PC for him. For the price point, this hit all the marks, powerful, light and mobile and a great sale price during the holidays. It certainly wasn't cheap by any means, but nothing of any quality really is. My older brother is an avid PC gamer and owns an MSI... he recommended the brand as his PC is several years old and is still handling the newest games. Therefore, I am confident this new MSI to last him thru high school.

A lot of positives here - this thing looks great out of the box. It's got a streamlined design, super thin bezel, and that gold trim that really pops. It's loaded up spec wise, and it doesn't disappoint in the performance department. Demanding games run smoothly and high resolution renders (using Blender) get churned out quickly I haven't really found any faults with the machine yet, but if I'm making a wishlist, I'd ask MSI to try and fit this into a 14 inch machine and add some color choices for the chassis. Neither are likely to happen for the next model, but a guy can dream can't he?

The laptop looks gorgeous and has given me no problem so far. I only use it at home so it's not an issue, but for people taking it places to school / libraries / etc., one thing to note is that it does get VERY loud with the fans when under moderate to heavy use. Simply installing a small program or opening a flash game on Google Chrome makes the fan go very loudly. It might be a little embarrassing when it goes off like that in a quiet environment but hey, what are they going to say when they look back and see your computer? Nothing, because it looks better than theirs. ;)

From opening the packaging, to starting the computer the graphics and look of the computer are impeccable. Super fast, sleek, and lightweight. Highly recommended.

This is a great light gaming pc. It is a power house. Plays all modern games and great for a backpack for school. Not heavy like other laptops with this power

Bought this as a graduation gift for my son. He was very excited to have it and has not stopped playing his games on it since then. It is very fast, great graphics, and light weight. Hoping he will take advantage of the fast technology and put it to good use next semester in college.

I got this thing for school and for some moderate gaming. It's really quiet when I'm taking notes in class, which was of great importance for me. I get self-conscious if it's too loud and feel like I'm disturbing people around me, so silence was key I'm also using it for entertainment while on my breaks on campus or visiting my SO. I mostly play FFXIV on it right now, and it runs great (albeit rather warm). Undervolting solves part of this, but realistically, it's still gonna run hot as all thin laptops do, so I'm not too concerned with it. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the flipped motherboard. I would've liked to tinker around with it a little bit, maybe installing a different WiFi card, repasting the processor, or upgrading/ expanding the SSD. Due to the added layer of difficulty of a flipped mobo, I won't be trying that with this purchase. Maybe next time!

Laptop is very light weight and has great picture quality/performance. Does run very hot when gaming which may impact lifespan of laptop long term.
