What can I say I have no idea how they packed so much in such a small lightweight laptop. Simply stunning!

When shopping for a laptop for my first semester of college, I decided to treat myself to something with a little extra power than needed for taking notes, hoping for longevity and an unbeatable user experience for casual gaming, Photoshop, 3D modelling, etc. Immediately I was blown away. I opted for this configuration from Bestbuy because I thought it was the best for price to performance, although I strongly suggest you look at the variants, listed here https://us.msi.com/Laptop/GS65-Stealth-Thin-Intel-8th-Gen/Specification to see if another model is better for you. Most important to note is the type and amount of the SSD, from what I've seen on here and other reviewers. But moving on to my experience. BUILD Not flimsy, not a tank, really. I feel confident that it wont bend or anything when I put it in my backpack, but it's still likely prone to denting if you dropped it, which is to be expected. Looks absolutely beautiful with the gold trim and matte finish, although it picks up fingerprints very easily. It's fairly light weight and not at all bad to carry around in school all day. SCREEN Amazing! Its hard to go back to my desktop after looking at this screen. Blacks are deep, it's super bright, and the refresh rate is excellent. KEYBOARD/TRACK PAD I was skeptical on the keyboard, as my experiences with Steelseries haven't been the best, and since this would be used for taking notes, a bad keyboard would have been a deal breaker. I drove a bit to find a Bestbuy that had it on display to test it out, and was very pleasantly surprised! I have no issues, and actually vastly prefer it to the Razer keyboard I've been using lately. The slights look great and the software to control them is fairly easy once you figure it out. Haven't tried any of the ones that react to your games or anything yet though. The lack of numpad has raised very minor inconveniences but the overall feel and spacing is perfect for me. The track pad is generally fine. This is mostly a windows issue I'm sure, but some of the gestures controls are pretty inconsistently read, so I've turned those off. SPEAKERS Not too good, but I don't expect much from laptop speakers. Compared to the other laptops I've used I'd say this was better, but still no selling feature. BATTERY It lasted me all weekend of on and off use without charging of streaming, Blender, and web browsing. Whenever gaming I'll usually have it plugged in at my desk anyways, but the battery life is significantly less. The charging brick is nice and small though, which makes taking it with me easier PERFORMANCE/ETC All the games I've tried I've been able to max and run at full frames. Not that I'm playing anything too intensive, but I'm happy with it. Startup time is super fast. Sometimes it'll do something in the background, usually a windows update and the fans will just get super noisy which can be annoying, but this rarely happened after my first week with it. It's got an excellent number of ports. The 512GB total makes me use mostly cloud storage, as it fills up quickly with games, but that solution is fine for me. Comes with the typical windows bloatware but Norton isn't too hard to uninstall. Overall I highly recommend this laptop, it scores high marks in all categories for me, and I look forward to using this computer for years to come.

The MSI g565 Stealth thin 037 is an amazing machine. It is fast, efficient and has great battery life.

I'm an animation student and have had to use a regular laptop to do my work, obviously that wasn't working. I just got this laptop but so far it's been working great, Maya opens and works on it so that awesome the graphics look great. The laptop itself looks good and its lighter than my other laptop, it bugs me that the screen is a bit matted but way less than the other l laptop's from this brand. So far though I like this laptop.

Very good computer. Did not give 5 star because having an issue with the speakers. When headphones are plugged out, sound does not come from the speakers. Did not have a chance to contact customer support yet.

This computer is fast ! ...with the processing speed there is absolute no lag for on-line gaming.

Computer makes all kinds of creaking noises when picked up which leaves much to be desired. The gaming performance and noise levels are great but it’s definitely needing some beefing up in structural integrity.

I recently purchased the MSI GS65 Stealth thin laptop with the 1070 graphics card. So far when I've played Overwatch and Pubg it never lags! My settings are on ultra and there is no lag to the game so far. I'm really impressed by how thin the laptop is and so lightweight. I would recommend buying a cooling pad for this laptop, it can get pretty hot and needs something to help it breathe. With the cooling pad it stays at a good temp. The reason I docked one star from the review was the fact that there is not a lot of memory in this computer. You need to buy extra m.2 cards to make this laptop become the ultimate machine. Besides that this laptop is amazing, I would highly recommend getting it and buying those extra cards! :D

This is honestly one of the better thin laptops I've seen. The design on this doesn't look bright, childish like the other gaming laptops. This laptop looks and feels more premium. Its amazing how a computer this thin could run almost all of the latest games at a decent frame rate with high settings. The only downside is the how hot it gets after a few hours of gaming, but what could you expect from a thin beast of a laptop.

This model is a dumpster fire of a gaming laptop. First gaming laptop I've ever bought, worst one I've experienced. Currently undergoing repairs at Geek Squad for a cpu fan failure. This is the 3rd fan failure I've experienced with the laptop in 2 years. I gave it many chances to prove me wrong that it would be a great product but failed me countless times. Cooling is my main complaint, with the fan failures, fan speeds exceeding advertised max speeds (Cooler Boost mode - doesn't control temps anyway), and extreme hot temps with any program running (probably has poor/old thermal paste). I'm currently hoping that the repair center would approve either a replacement (although that's unlikely since the model stopped selling), or getting full store credit refund. I simply do not want to own this laptop anymore and I'm already looking for other laptop options (I have 2 jobs and need one asap), as well as waiting to build a new PC (prices are sky high right now). I have a lot of buyer's remorse because of the laptop, and if I could give this a 0 star rating, I would.
