Best Gaming Notebook-Period
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this MSI model from reading other very positive reviews and going to Best Buy and seeing it in person. Boy, did it blow me away with how thin and light it is without sacrificing any power and graphics. After getting it home and played some games I could not believe how it how fast rendered textures and seamlessly held framerate without a hitch! It is the perfect combination of the best components for gaming and graphics in a tight and light package. The cool multi-colored keyboard is awesome too. Highly recommend it if you want a powerful mobile gaming system.

Excellent Value With Some Trade-offs
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The GS65 Stealth presents a great value proposition. You get a current 8th Gen i7 with 6 cores and 12 threads, a GTX 1070 Max-Q, 512GB SSD, 16GB of DDR4 memory, and a decent sized battery. Razer has a similarly spec'd configuration for $600 more, which is a significant cost difference. Overall, the MSI GS65 is a great machine for the money. Here are some quick pros and cons: Pros: * Great performance for gaming and productivity work * 15.6" screen in a near 14" inch body due to slim bezels * Decent battery life when it comes to browsing and content consumption * Comfortable keyboard with per key RGB lighting * Great port selection, including Thunderbolt 3 Cons: * The motherboard is flipped which means any DIY upgrades are riskier * The screen brightness is below the competition * Due to the overall thinness, there is a bit of flex and creaking on the keyboard deck * Speakers, even though branded by Dynaudio, leaves little to be desired

Thin. Fast. Beautiful.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I spent a week straight researching laptops to fit my needs for Video Production, Motion Graphics, and IT. I wanted something thin, powerful, and Windows-based. I've never purchased MSI before, but am very impressed with the build quality of this computer. It runs the Adobe Creative Cloud suite like a dream! I tested Sea Of Thieves and the 144Htz refresh rate paired with the GTX 1070 gave me 80-120 frames on Ultra with no tearing! The only thing I wish it had was a built-in SD card reader, but there are plenty of USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports to make up for it.

Beautiful screen
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The screen bezel on this laptop is really sleek and the overall thinness of this laptop is a huge plus. Fits perfectly into my backpack for school. The screen is so buttery smooth, watching anything on it is magical. Only downside would be the intense fans that turn on when you game or download, but it's still bearable. Glad I chose this laptop, it's going to last me.

MSI GS65 STEALTH THIN
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The following review is for the GS65 STEALTH THIN-037 I purchased the MSI GS65 Thin yesterday morning and since then I have put it through the paces. Out of the box I first installed a few games from Steam and the Battle.net launcher. Design: The thin design of the chassis is fantastic, and I absolutely love the thin bezels around the screen. I thought I would notice the chin bar under the screen and the gap between the lid and main chassis more; but when I am working or playing a game, both tend to fade from mind. The I/O is pretty great to have on a thin laptop. There is a bit of flex near the power button, in-between the speaker grills, but overall the machine feels solid. The flex is only noticeable if you are looking for it. Otherwise, the rest of the keyboard area is amazingly rigid. In addition, the keyboard layout only takes a couple hours of typing to adjust to. Gaming Performance: This laptop is an absolute monster. When I first played PUBG on the machine, the graphics settings were defaulted to Ultra. I went into a match and managed 70+ fps for the entire match. There was no stuttering or major fluctuation occurring. Rainbow Six Siege is the same story. All settings maxed by default and 100+ frames 99% of the time. It dipped to about 90fps when there was a lot happening at once on the screen. Overwatch was a breeze to run similarly to RSS and PUBG. No faults or complaints Speakers and Sound: Speakers are subpar at best. They will do for a quick YouTube video, but for anything more I’d recommend a good pair of headphones. Please note this is not a fault of the device: most laptop speakers are underwhelming. Battery life is about standard. On battery just browsing the web or working in word / excel, I managed just over 6 hours. While gaming, you will want to keep the power adapter with you – I only managed 1 hour and 15 minutes of battery in Overwatch. This is to expected and perfectly fine seeing as the power adapter is small and lightweight enough to be carried in my laptop bag daily. Overall I’d recommend the MSI GS65 in a heartbeat to anyone looking for a new daily driver that needs to be able to eat up some of the biggest games at the moment while still being portable and low-profile enough for business meetings / public use.

Great Replacement
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a Republic of Gamers for the last 5 years that I used heavily for architectural design and related programs. That computer worked well but it was very large and heavy and recently the hard disk went out so I had to get another computer. I spent a bunch of time looking at computers for an upgrade and was/am extremely impressed with the size and power this laptop offers. This computer is very lightweight and ten times faster than what I had before. I am very happy with it so far and look forward to working on it in the comming years.

My First 2K Gaming/Work MSI Laptop. Recommended.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is truly a beast! It has everything a hardcore gaming fan wanted but pleases the eyes when using it at workplace and inside conference meeting. What is not to love about this laptop? It has the latest Intel i7 8th Gen chip and the latest Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 8GB memory with 16GB of fast RAM memory too. I love the 1080 resolution TN panel with the high refresh rate of 144Hz. Some review thinks it an IPS panel but not true. If you read the specs it "IPS-Level Display" which I read it similar to the same level as an IPS. With a TN panel it has less light bleeding on the edge of the screen. My does have a very little bleeding on the top corner of the display. I also dig the RGB per key colors custom setting allowed. This Best Buy exclusive model by GS65 STEALTH THIN-037 sold here on their website and at an auction website (via I order directly auction seller - Best Buy Store). By far this model has all of the best specification for the money. You get the 16GB Ram, faster video card 1070 with 8GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD hard drive (512GB M.2 SSD). So, the con on this model is it uses a slower 512GB M.2 SSD drive but you get twice the hard drive space instead of 256GB but a faster 256GB NVMe SSD. I have already filled up my C:\ drive space when I tried to install my The Elder Scrolls Online game that is over 100GB that I end up uninstalling to save HD spaces. I think any laptop to have at least at minimal 1TG SSD hard drive in it but this would increase the laptop price at 1TB NVMe SSD increase the cost by $200 plus (GS65 Stealth THIN-051). There is two option for upgrades. You can upgrade the 2nd free NVMe slot and replaces the two ram sticks of 8GB each with two 16GB ram sticks for a total of 32GB (max). Which to me is a little overkill. I don’t really see needed this much ram unless you play a lot of different VM sandbox setup like using VMware Workstation, Oracle VM VirtualBox, etc. Overall, I do highly recommend this BB model GS65 STEALTH THIN-037 version even thou it about $300 more you get a much better deal with 2GB more instead the slow video card NVIDIA GeForce GTX1060 with 6GB only. You can compare them at MSaI website: _https://us.msi.com/Laptop/GS65-Stealth-Thin-Intel-8th-Gen/Specification.

Powerful, thin, light, great battery.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a college student, I needed a laptop with long battery life, something that was powerful enough to edit 4k footage, and wasn't a big ugly gaming laptop. This laptop covers all those bases. Amazing spec, pretty good build quality. Only gripe is that the chassis are kind of weak on this laptop. Just from taking it in and out of my laptop, this thing has bent a decent amount. Also the corner dented really easily. A second gripe would be the fans are fairly loud if they go off in class. Sometimes I'll just have One Note up and the fans will ramp up to full blast and people look over and ask if I'm gaming or something... No... I'm not, the fans just decided that One Note was too powerful for a laptop with an 8750H processor... Oh, also, 144Hz screen is amazing. TL;DR- Powerful, looks great, fans are kinda loud, chassis are somewhat weak.

Excellent laptop for portable gaming
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After my old laptop broke It was an opportunity to look for a new modern laptop that has no problem keeping up with today's games and this laptop has not disappointed in any regard so far. It's been able to run almost any game I've tried to play on it so far with no problems. It's amazing how hardware this powerful could be so thin too, this thing weighs almost nothing and it feels like you could take it anywhere. Overall I can tell this is a laptop that will last me for a long time.

Solid Laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this from my local best buy shop and was incredibly immepressed with the build quality. It arrived in a sleek box and from the momne tI opened I knew it was felt premium. I'm a big gamer and I needed an upgrade from my previous setup and this laptop has no problem reaching over 100 fps in games like The Witcher, GTA V, PUBG, and Overwatch. The fans noise is also very reasonable and highly adjustable and battery life is about 6 hours which is amazing, Highly recommended.

Great laptop with very few drawbacks
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an amazing gaming laptop, with fairly high end specs and an slim, sleek exterior that doesn't look like a giant sharp-edged brick like most other gaming laptops. The keyboard has a wonderful feeling and the backlit colors are good as well, and the laptop is surprisingly lighter than most laptops (gaming or non-gaming) in general. Some of the cons about this laptop though are the heat it produces, the noise it makes, and the stiffness of the mouse. It seems like no matter what setting its on, the laptop gets from warm to slightly hot to the touch, and when the fans are on it makes an annoyingly loud whirring sound. The laptop's mouse is slightly stiff, needing to be pressed down slightly harder than I'd like. Other than those small drawbacks, the laptop itself is amazing and well worth the price.

Good Laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop has worked extremely well during the time that I have used it. After 3 months the battery is still working at the level it came at. This laptop is also very fast and continues to run quickly even when a large number of tabs are open. I have also found that the screen resolution is excellent. One problem that I found was that the computer fan is quite loud when running some games with high graphics. Overall though this laptop is reliable and works quite well.

Incredible Performance and Looks
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although you pay a premium for the design, this laptop is worth every penny. It can handle nearly every modern game at max settings with good thermals. The laptop can get hot but if you use the "cooler boost" mode in dragon center heat is not an issue. Good stock storage with the option of adding another M.2 drive. The screen is almost too good. It has put me in a situation where I don't want to use my external monitors at all causing me to want an upgrade.

VERY GOOD
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very good laptop overall with some minor negatives including the fact that it is a fingerprint magnet, the battery is sub-par even at just multitasking, and the fact that it can be difficult to upgrade the SSD or RAM with the design of the computer interior. Also, the speakers aren't amazing but its easy to just use headphones or possibly external speakers if you need to and the track-pad that isn't amazing but still works alright if you don't want to use a mouse (but i recomend a mouse for best experience). Overall great laptop considering the specs you are getting for the price and i would highly recommend considering this laptop if you are looking for something with amazing performance whilst not being the typical big, bulky, and gamer looking laptop.

Super fast, super slim
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this laptop as a big upgrade to a 2014 Macbook Pro that I was using as a gaming laptop. Insane upgrade in speed, screen size, and overall performance. Was up and running out of the box in less than 20 minutes (had some updates to download). Consistently hitting over 80 FPS on shooting games with settings maxed out. Also love the looks and size of this thing - it's definitely portable and I really enjoy the minimalist design.

Top of the line gaming laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Before purchasing the gs65, I was deciding between this and the razer 15. I was originally going to buy the razer, but Best Buy was sold out. That being said, I am extremely pleased with this gaming laptop. The performance on this computer exceeded my expectations, and the screen produces a great image. The only downsides of the gs65 is that the touch pad isn't the smoothest and the body isn't fully aluminum. If you're unsure between buying the gs65 and the razer 15, buy this laptop if you aren't willing to spend an extra $600 for the same specs. However, if you want a better keyboard, all aluminum body, a better matte black look (imo), AND willing to spend significantly more money, then the razer would be your better option.

Very good gaming laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The GS65 has good specs for the price, a wonderful form factor (love the light weight, thin body, and small bezels), and kicks butt in the looks department. The RGB keyboard from steelseries is beautiful and surprisingly nice feeling for what it is, and the gold and black looks absolutely beautiful. The internals are more than overkill for anything except AAA titles, and as someone who is used to a GTX 1050ti is absolutely amazing.
