super light and games like a beast
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Extremely light and has everything you want in a gaming laptop. Only complaints are the heat and the build quality could be a bit more solid but overall does not detract from the experience. the keyboard feels really nice and the track pad is alright.

Best laptop you can buy right now!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After doing an extensive search for a new laptop with capabilities for constantly using programs like GIS, Adobe Suite, and gaming, this was the clear winner for 2018. I am extremely happy with this laptop and think many specific complaints are too nit picky. The touch pad is very sensitive and extremely customizable, although I will likely be using a mouse instead. The so-called "give" in the framework, specifically around the speakers, really is not noticeable at all. The screen is beautiful, the keyboard is comfortable, the power is incredible, and for the price it is definitely the best laptop you can buy right now. I am extremely pleased with it, and not to mention the black and gold design itself is very sleek. My only complaint would be how easy it is to cover the laptop in fingerprints, but really if that's the only problem, I'm thrilled.

Head Turner
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After going through both 2017 Razer Blade 14” 4k and Razer Blade 17” FHD, along with the Asus ROG Zephyrus GU501 and MSI GE63 8th gen I’m happy to say I’ve found a laptop that not only has great build quality and battery life but also has a sharp and color accurate screen and the small bezels definitely make this laptop feel like a 2018 device. I immediately took this into a cafe after purchasing to set it up and gave breakfast and it really turned some heads, the sleek black and gold design along with the gold MSI dragon logo makes it look as if it was a Porsche or Ferrari designed laptop. I’ve yet to fire up any games but I did turn in the cooler blast fan mode and I have to say It was pretty darn quite compared to max fan noise from the previously mentioned laptops. Will be doing some gaming and benchmarking later today to test thermals and FPS.

4 Lemons before switching to MSI
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Recently I have had a horrible time trying to buy a simple laptop. I went through 3 ASUS ROG 501s ($1499) each having a different problem. To the MSI GS63 which I also had to return because of it overheating. The other three computers 2 bad screens and one bad fan. The MSI GS65 Stealth Thin is a major winner in my book and I am not returning this one. It runs fast and the CPU is running right now at around 34 celsius just typically browsing and does not pass 90 while gaming. The build is solid and nice looking. The keyboard feels nice...trackpad could be a little bit better. No number pad :-( but that is ok. I feel like losing the 1TB HDD from the other computers I tried is a bit difficult but I am LOVING THIS COMPUTER! I know that when it is time to start shopping again I am going to look at purchasing MSI again.

Excellent Laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well priced laptop from a reputable brand with top specs. Finding a gaming-preformance rig with a 1070 GTX and 8th generation i7 is rare at this quality. The thin bezel, 144hz display, sleek slim design make for Great aesthetics, along with all the steelseries hardware, performance, RGB keys functionality. -Runs a little warm, speakers are ok, but Preformance is off the charts. Treat yourself to one!

Best graduation gift ever
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received this laptop as a graduation and birthday gift, and it's honestly better than what I could have expected. I'm inexperienced with gaming laptops, but I'd say this is worth it if your budgets allows it. I don't have any concerns about this laptop other than how hot it can get. The fan is quite noisy too, so a head's up about that if that matters. This is a massive upgrade from what I was previously using. I lack the vocabulary to describe how amazed I was by this laptop. A lot of my friends tell me that my laptop's specs are better than their desktop's specs, so it's comforting to know that every penny was worth it. I don't lag out with this laptop, and I feel like I'll be able to use it for many years to come. Thank you MSI and thank you Best Buy!

Powerful thin laptop with few flaws
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pro: 1. Slim and sleek, with a lot of power. 2. As I said, a lot of power. Overkill for games like League of Legends. Runs 80+ on High setting in WOW. 40-60fps on high-ultra in most 3D mainstream games. 1080p ofc. 3. Aluminium feels solid and nice built, RGB lights of keyboard is good too. Keys feel okay. 4. Bluetooth connection is easy and fast, I got a mice, a headset and a speaker connect to it at the same time. No problem. 5. Light weight for such a powerful machine means you can put it on your legs if needed with less pressure. 6. A lot of USB ports, type-C is a must, HDMI and Thunderbolt are also there. Cons: 1. Fans are noisy when it's on duty. 2. Fans are noisy for a reason because it's pretty hot. (My hands are sweating now while I'm typing) 3. Leads to another problem which is, as I mentioned in Pros, this is a light weighted gaming machine which you can put it on your laps but holy molly, it's burning. 4. Finger prints. I mean a lot. It's black and it's glossy aluminium. Go figure. 5. Right arrow key is located by the number 0. Take times to get used to.(Good thing is, you have ur number pad tho) 6. Talking about A/C connection, it's on the right middle of the keyboard. I hate it so much because I can feel it every time I move my mice too close. 7. Average speakers 8. Track pad is not the best, kinda stiff and surface is not smooth when dragging. It's pretty much the cheapest for it's spec, if you're looking for "Thin, portable and Powerful", you found it.

MSI GS65 Stealth Thin
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.MSI GS65 Stealth Thin I had a Asus Rog Gu501G with the same processor but it had a 1060 instead of the MSI 1070, my ROGs speakers quit working so I returned it to get the MSI , overall the MSI seems to be built about the same as the asus, but the MSI is way thinner and the bezel on the screen is almost non existent. the MSI is fast but it does heat up pretty fast when gaming or editing, I bought a additional fan for the laptop that I can rest the laptop on I recommend getting more cooling for this bad boy. Overall I really like this laptop only thing that bugged me was the storage this thing has little to no storage for games, so don't expect to use this as a main gaming station, its more of a Business class gaming laptop. as for being vr ready is awesome ill be taking advantage of that in the future.

Excellent laptop so far
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm very satisfied with my purchase thus far, I've had the laptop for a couple weeks and so far so good. The thing that I'm most impressed by is the amount of power in such a lightweight and thin package. As I'm a professional video game developer who works remotely, having this kind of power on the go really opens a lot of doors for me. Of all the laptops I looked at (and I looked at a lot before finally deciding on this one), this one was far and away the best value for what you get compared to everything else I saw, and now that I've gotten to use it myself, I can say I have no regrets about my purchase for the time being. It's true that the laptop gets quite hot, and I haven't really pushed it to the limit just yet. So far it hasn't been an issue for me though.

Laptop is excellent
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is perfect for basic browsing all the way to some high performance gaming. I use it for both and love it. It is super sleek and fits easily in my backpack. Not too heavy either! Especially coming with a 1070.

Lightweight and powerful!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is light and fast. I work in Cinema4D a lot and it works great! I even use Octane for 3D renders on here while I'm doing a little lookdev. I've also tested working in Substance Painter on here and had zero issues. This laptop keeps up with my work without lagging. YouTube has teardown tutorials that will help you through the process of upgrading the laptop with more ram and a 2nd m.2 card. I did this and also reapplied thermal paste to the cpu and gpu. Working great and I'm a happy customer!

Excellent balance of portability and power for
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the third MSI laptop I have owned (GT627-218, and GS60 Ghost Pro 4K-238) and while my previous one was still viable for casual gaming, I felt this was a worthwhile upgrade. It also addresses some of the issues I have had with the GS60. First and foremost, I’d like to go on record to say that the GS60 is a great midrange gaming laptop that has served me well for the 2+ years I’ve owned it. At the time of its purchase, my only complaint was that the GeForce 10 series laptops had come out right after purchase. That being said, it’s held up fairly well with modern games. The main reasons I wanted to upgrade were that the gs60 didn’t seem to work with the Oculus/Vive VR headsets and the 4K resolution, while spectacular, didn’t get enough of a boost from the graphics card to play many games at 4K with anything other than low settings. The only other complaint I had was that the backlit keys were sort of lacking as they were not able to be set individually. With that in mind, I set out looking at other reviews and checking in stores for some of the other models available from different manufacturers. During this time, the GS65 Stealth Thin was released and I happened upon it while looking at the GS63 as a possible candidate. I immediately was drawn to the gold lines and the very thin bezel around the screen. While the GS63 shares a similar chassis to the GS60, the GS65 is a departure and to anyone comparing the two, the differences are immediately apparent. Unfortunately, there were little to no reviews on the web for this beauty for almost 2 weeks save for a thread on reddit about it. So I had to obsess over the MSI site and it’s specs list patiently. However, a few reviews started cropping up and I was pleasantly surprised by the level of detail that has gone into this machine over the earlier models. It jumped to the top contender of my list, save for the fact that aside from a display model, Best Buy didn’t seem to have it available in stock and a shipping time of the end of May. I lucked out today as one of the more distant Best Buys in my area had one in stock today, and so I jumped on it without hesitation. My pros and cons list so far is fairly short as it’s based on only a half of a day of use, so time will tell if I have more to add to the list. On the plus side, this thing is very classy and gorgeous in a subtle way. It has enough power to sit at an upper mid to low high end portable gamer position without breaking your back, lap, or bank. My only gripes thus far, are that while impressively light, it does feel kind of fragile and I fear a real possibility of it bending/flexing. While I haven’t opened it up, I’ve seen a few teardown articles which show the upgradable parts (ram and ssd) on the reverse side of the motherboard which makes upgrading something out of the reach of many users.

Fantastic Thin and Light, with a price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this laptop for about 2 weeks now, and have been loving every minute of using it. The keyboard feels great, the track-pad is fairly good (for a windows track-pad), and the build over all feels really nice. As for the specs, they speak for themselves. These 8th gen intel CPU's are so great for the things I do, specifically wow which is a cpu intensive game. I have found that I would rather play on this, between the steady framerate from the cpu and the 144hz refresh rate, I have been having a really awesome experience. Used it plenty while I was moving apartments and not once did I wish I was at my desktop. If you can catch this on a sale, or some kind of deal, or if you just have money to spend; totally give this one a look

Incredible gaming laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing is an absolute beast! It can run almost any game I can think of on ultra settings, and the 144Hz screen is a joy to look at. The keyboard feels great for a laptop, and the customizable lighting settings can make this transform from a gaming machine to an elegant looking work laptop. A few minor things for buyers to know - the body does flex a little bit in some spots, but it does not feel like the build quality is poor. Also, the battery life could be better, but that's expected from a gaming laptop. I do wish the battery lasted longer while doing other tasks. With these minor complaints aside, I still think this is a fantastic buy and would 100% recommend it to someone who is looking for a portable gaming machine.
