Looking around this price point for a laptop to use for both engineering classes for college, and also on the side to game a little, there are really no other laptops with the same quality. From my research, there is no other laptop that has such a slim body with under 5lbs of weight that has the specs inside at this price point. MSI did a nice job sort of toning down the gamers aspect by giving the chassis a nice black and gold finish. The keyboard has a nice feeling, with RGB lighting and Steelseries controller to make your keyboard personalised. No complaints so far about the laptop after about a week of use about 2-4 hours a day. Is very good buy, and would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking at this price range.

There are many things to like about this laptop. The build quality is excellent. The performance is incredible The screen is fantastic Gaming is great I would 100% recommend this laptop to a friend I took off one star for bloatware. Which is my biggest gripe. It comes preinstalled with norton antivirus. So I had to do a fresh install which shouldn't be necessary

searched long and hard for a gaming laptop to travel with. chose this one based on other reviews where heat did not seem to affect performance. the screen looks good, weight is good, size and performance. the wifi card did just crap out on me and i think i'll have to replace it but we'll see. have only had it like 3 weeks. other than that it would get a 5 star

I recently purchased the MSI GS65 Stealth from Best Buy, and I am extremely happy with it. This machine absolutely has lived up to all of the positive reviews I read before purchasing it. The design is sleek, the build materials feel sturdy, and it has absolutely crushed any games I have played on it so far. My only (minor) issues with it so far are the amount of extra applications that came installed, and the fact that the SSD comes partitioned into two separate drives for some reason. Both of these issues were easily remedied by uninstalling the extra applications and repartitioning the SSD. This laptop definitely seems to be the best performance in this price range, and I am extremely satisfied with my purchase.

This laptop is a perfect design. Its thin and light enough to be carried to school, but can also handle any game you throw at it thanks to the 1070maxq. The 144hz refresh rate just makes it even better.

I bought this laptop for college. I wanted to be able to game, browse, and do school work all on one device. This laptop allows me to do all of that. The large, clear screen lets me play my favorite games and watch my favorite shows. The processing power is unlike any computer I've ever used and has been able to tackle anything I throw at it. It looks pretty and doesn't come off as a big and clunky gaming laptop. Games run at maximum FPS and graphics settings which is sweet. (It looks better than my XBOX) The fans can run pretty loud but that's pretty expected on a laptop. It can also get pretty hot pretty quickly as well and burn my legs. Definitely a quality purchase for school and personal use.

This review is not going to be about how great this computer is with gaming because this not why I purchased it and I don't play video games either way. I am an architecture student, I don't know much about computers but, I had a laptop before I purchase this one and let me tell you it didn't last me a year in college when I started using heavy programs like revit. But with MSI it's working perfectly and it doesn't take as much time to load things as my last computer. So far I don't have any cons for this computer and I love everything about it, the screen, the keyboard, how light it is and the overall design of the computer! So if you want to buy this as a student I totally recommend it.

I am going to school as an engineering student and this laptop is perfect for it. It has great battery life, a great screen, and fantastic performance all within a thin, light, and premium chassis.

i bought this laptop and it is everything i needed. the laptop is beautiful, the keyboard is beautiful and the customization of it is great. the screen is amazing running 144hz. the laptop runs great but there are some downfalls. the only thing i would have liked from the laptop would have been a 1tb ssd or at least a 1tb hhd on top of the 512ssd. it isnt that big a problem because i can just swap it out for a bigger drive, but it would have been nice to have the option. the other thing i would have liked, but isnt a big deal, would have been a number pad. the last version had it and i absolutely loved it. overall it is a great and beautiful laptop. would really recommend it

Bought to replace my 1yr old Inspiron 13 7000 with i7. Performance absolutely blows away my previous experiences. Needed it for some very high end simulations that actually overheated and crashed my old computer. This computer burned right through them effortlessly. Certainly bigger than my old computer but despite being so much more powerful, the fan usually is not on or is very quiet during normal operation. With my old laptop the fan was always on no matter what I was doing, so loud so that people I was having business webinars with would complain. This one even while running simulations was not loud enough to elicit the same complaints on calls. Overall very satisfied.

At this quality and price point, there's nothing that can touch this laptop for either gaming or productivity. Build quality is robust, not a tank, but treat it with care and it'll last years. The technology inside is fairly future-proof, or as close as possible these days. People have mentioned creaking, but when you build to the $2K price point and set out to make the machine SUPER THIN, what can you expect? The quality is there and so is the performance. I did all the migraine-inducing spec comparisons with the competition and found out, there IS no competition for this laptop. Just go buy the darn thing before Best Buy comes to their senses or runs out of stock.

This is one of the best laptops I have ever purchased, Very Thin & light weight compared to other gaming laptops. 144Hz refresh rate is big plus for gamers. Steam games runs like charm.

This computer is overall great. There are many reasons why I enjoy it, but I am not completely satisfied. PROS : Excellent Screen Quality / Size Gaming Power Satisfying Keyboard Dragon Center w/ Fan Control Customization Lightweight & Thin CONS : Trackpad is not very good. You can't click on the whole thing and it also picks up random drags making an external mouse a must for maximum efficiency. The build quality could be way better. The plastic it is made from is easily pliable and I feel the need to take extreme care when handling the machine. The keyboard RGB backlight stopped working after its first boot up. I uninstalled drivers, reinstalled drivers, and updated drivers to no avail. I searched everywhere online for tips yet none were helpful. Eventually I tried doing a factory reset as a last ditch effort yet the lights remained unresponsive. Speakers are also a little quiet but I use earbuds/headphones anyways.

This laptop is very light for great use in class and looks really elegant while still able to game at a competitive level with high settings and get use of that awesome 144hz panel.

After many days reading and watching reviews online on gaming laptops, I decided on this one based on the specs and cost. I will be using it mainly for business and graphic/video intensive work on the go but I still wanted a laptop that I could play some big games when I am able to. this works perfect and I love the professional sleek look. I was hesitant because of reviews regarding the build quality and flimsy case and so on, honestly I don't see it, no clue how they fit all that power in there but works for me! My only complaint is that the case material holds fingerprints/smudges, kinda like on stainless steel, so keep your hands clean ;-)

I struggled to find something about this laptop I really disliked. Turns out there isn't much. It gets a little hot but that's not unexpected for a thin and light. This laptop is super powerful and portable which is exactly what I was looking for. The only thing I think they could change is the positioning of the power cord. Its right in the middle of the right side which makes it a little awkward. Other then that, so far the performance has ben excellent and the Best Buy staff was vary knowledgeable and helpful!

For now I have played games such as Overwatch and League of Legends while on ultra settings. With great fps and the 144 hz display, this laptop is wonderful! It does not look like a gaming laptop which is nice to carry around. The fan noise is expected to be loud, this baby is thin but really powerful! Typing on the keyboard takes a little while to get used to, the spacing seems a bit too close between each key because I tend to accidently press other keys that I did not want to press. Also your fingerprint will stay on the laptop. Other than these minor issues that annoy me, this is a really great thin laptop that gives great power to the user.

Despite my recent purchase of it, this laptop has a lot of great qualities that people should look for when wanting a powerful laptop. It has its upsides, being that it can withstand a lot of open tabs or programs, and has a excellent processing capability. Simply put, it runs great and can take a lot of what you throw at it. With that, however, are a few things I have noticed while owning it. First off, the heat issue is not the worst thing in the world, and can be easily negated if the laptop is not given a huge workload for a sustained amount of time. With that out of the way, the only real issues I found were that a few functions were a bit harder to find than normal (the steelseries keyboard app was tedious to find) and that charging takes a bit of time. Along with that, the charge at higher percentages is not the most impressive I've seen; even my phone lasts longer [Battery saver helps, but at the cost of some performance]. Despite all of that, with proper handling and a reliable source of internet/charging, this laptop is powerhouse and is definitely worth the money I've spent for it.

Despite slight flex in the frame, this laptop preforms very well in every aspect. (The flex doesn't make it feel cheap and I still expect it to hold up for a few years). The laptop does get hot with heavy usage but nothing that is an issue. The CPU gets around low to mid 80's with occasional spikes to around 90 degrees Celsius and the GPU in the low 70's. The temps are much lower when idle or under minimal stress. The sleek build combined with powerful parts and a superb screen make this laptop very appealing, and I would recommend it to anyone that needs a light but powerful laptop to take with them on the go.
