Great all around Laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The GS65 is a great laptop with a lot of features, and awesome hardware. You know what you are going to get from the specs. Sure, the battery could be better, the trackpad is little less tracky, and the fans less fanny, but it's a great overall laptop for gaming and whatever, Very thin and light. Awesome graphics and speeds. A little pricey, but it should last for years.

Light & Quick
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've only had this laptop 5 days and have so far been impressed by its instant response to whatever I do. Since I don't do gaming, I'm told this laptop is apparently overkill for the use I give it: an average of 20-30 web browser tabs open at the same time while switching in and out of them to enter and submit text data while also doing some light photo and video editing & uploading, VOIP telephone use, and listening to music on YouTube or iTunes. The specs on this laptop may be overkill for that sort of use, but maybe because of that I can definitely report that I don't experience any lag time on this machine so far. Another great feature is the fact that this machine is light and easy enough to carry around.

Almost Perfect
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the small form factor and the amazing power, but there are a few cons. There is no 10 keypad and the SSD is not NVMe. For some reason the SSD is partitioned. Which required reinstalling windows and downloading all of the utilities and drivers from the web. The gaming performance is top tier but there are a few quirks that could be easily fixed.

Great for school and gaming
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Super happy with the laptop. I broke my other one that was light and fast, so this was a great replacement. I can take it anywhere and it doesn't feel like im lugging a small child around with me.

The performance is great!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the design, performance and the display of this laptop, but the build quality is noticeably low! Feels so cheap in hand. Also heat was an issue, but didn’t really effect the performance. I was hoping to get a better build at this price point. Also, I was expecting lower temperature from a max q gpu. Overall, the performance made me happy!

Portable and Powerful
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I decided to upgrade from my old laptop and wanted something more powerful but also super portable. After doing my research and reading multiple reviews I decided to get to get the MSI Stealth Thin. Pros: -Lightweight -Battery Life -Display -Specs (CPU, GPU, RAM) Cons: -Trackpad -Chassis So first the good stuff. I'm not a huge gamer but wanted to have the capability to do so so the 1070 was plenty good enough. I heard intel's new coffee lake 6 core processor was a big step up from their previous model so that was a big plus too. The laptop has a great display, plenty of ram, and good battery life. It runs good when I am using apps that use lots of ram and cpu. When playing games the laptop does get hot so it is warm on your lap but that isn't something that really bothers me. The fans also are always on when playing games but that isn't really a problem either if you're wearing headphones. The display is super crisp and the thin bezel is really a nice part as well. Now onto the not as good stuff. In reviews I read before buying this computer people said the chassis isn't built real solid. After getting it, I see what they mean. The computer isn't super rigid like a macbook and flexes a little behind the display and the whole chassis does a bit in general. I don't mean that it will snap or anything it just bends a bit. The trackpad isn't as responsive or as big as I would like it to be but that's just personal preference. To be honest these parts aren't a big deal at all and I wouldn't let it deter you from buying this computer. Overall I am super happy with this computer and would recommend this to anyone who wants gaming capabilities in a lightweight, portable laptop.

Best thin gaming laptop for the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had if for a few months now. Wanted to really get a feel for it. In a nutshell though, it is a great little pc. Powerful, light, decent battery. I gave it 5 stars because it does everything promised. The only thing that has continued to bother me is the power options. There are two, a windows power option and an MSI power option and they both kind of override/reset the other. Other than that. The things i was worried about was people reporting it bent and creaked. With enough force, you can get it to bow/creak, but it is more force than you would ever use normally. The power brick it comes with is small and light, and it charges quickly.

Love this laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the laptop for both school and gaming and all I can say is WOW it’s an amazing laptop with some minor issues that can be solved like heat. The display is amazing for gaming even though it’s not 4K it has something much better and that’s a 144hz display paired with a gtx 1070 what that means is that you can play whatever you want that’s available now on the market a pretty much the highest settings. Those who are worried about that “gaming look” that most gaming laptops come with worry not since this laptop comes with a very sleek design. All I have left to say is this a great laptop and I recommend anybody who thinking of buying it to just pull the trigger

Portable and Powerful
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this laptop at the $1999 price and was able to use the $100 student discount offered at the time and for that price minus tax this is IMO a very capable and good looking laptop. One thing to note about the Best Buy model from what I've read is that it uses a SATA SSD instead of NVMe and an Intel Wifi card instead of a Killer card which gives it the lower price than other retailers. Not an issue for me but may matter to some. Build Quality: This was probably the one thing I was suspect about given a lot of reviews I've seen/read. It's an all metal outer chassis with some plastic bits (screen hinge/rear exhaust panel). In two separate best buy's the palm area creaked when pressed on which I've read from some owners is a somewhat common problem. Lucky for me I've had none on my model. There is some flex to the display and the area above the keyboard by the power button. Overall I'm pleased with the build quality but don't expect macbook pro or razer unibody type sturdiness/feel. It is very light and considering how much power its packing makes it even more amazing. Display: 1080p 144hz screen. Matte finish so less light reflections. MSI advertises it as "IPS level" on their website but viewing angles are good, and has good color reproduction on the rgb and adobe rgb spectrums. Gaming on it has been excellent especially when hitting those 100+ fps. I plan on using this for photo editing and some light video editing on the go. Keyboard/Trackpad: Decent key travel/feel. The key caps feel like they're metal as well and they have individually lit RGB that you can customize. No number pad but it's nice to have your hands centered when typing. Track pad is just okay. Tracking is adequate but I've had times where it right clicks when I don't intend to. Speakers: Bottom firing. They get decently loud and sound is good for basic use. This is assuming you're gonna use headphones for gaming. Performance: This thing is will handle any basic tasks you throw at it (Internet browsing, Youtube, Word processing). Overall use through out the UI is snappy and responsive. With the 144hz refresh rate Windows animations look so smooth, even just moving the mouse pointer around. Can play pretty much any AAA gaming titles out with the hardware enclosed. Played some Far Cry 5 and No Man's Sky and It's been a blast. Smooth stable performance. Fan noise is noticeable during gameplay but not too loud IMO. The areas above the keyboard do get warm. Misc: - Like many of said this is a fingerprint magnet! Beautiful when clean but any sort of oils from your hands will smear on the outside. - Port selection is good. One thing I wish it had was a full size SD card slot especially since gaming laptops make very good photo/video editing machines. - Front facing camera on the top bezel so no booger view. Quality is meh but not something I care about. There's even a dedicated button to disable the camera on the hardware level. Windows doesn't recognize the camera unless activated on. - Battery life. Been mainly using this at home and I've mainly used this at places I can plug in so can't comment at the moment.

Great computer compromising on nothing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this computer primarily for VR gaming and wow does it provide for that. I am blown away by its size and how much power it has behind it. I don't play super power intense games (Overwatch, Steamworld Dig 2, Fortnite, and then the VR games) but I did even try out some more power hungry games and it ran beautifully. I feel like I don't have to compromise in any area and can play without worrying about hardware. I am also happy with the amount of ports available so my options are always open to whatever it is that I want. It also future proofs my future in PC gaming so for the next while I can keep gaming without worrying much about my hardware.

Stylish, runs great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this laptop for about a day now, and it is running great. It can run all the games I want to with the graphics turned all the way up. The only problem is that it heats up pretty fast. Also, I noticed today that when I try to charge it, it says plugged in not charging, but I'll probably figure it out. Overall I am impressed.

Failed to be a gaming PC
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop to use for gaming while on extended travel. I chose the MSI and this product particularly because of it's high ratings and excellent reviews. Unfortunately, my experience was the opposite. The computer could not support Overwatch on low settings, constantly overheating, freezing and glitching. Be sure to turn off any and all windows notifications because if any popup during a game, the game will freeze and crash. When playing online with friends, I would experience freezing, glitches, and crashes approximately every 4 minutes. Completely unacceptable for a gaming rig with the specs that it has. The computer runs very hot, close to 90C on normal gaming which causes the fans to be extremely loud. I often could hear the fans when wearing headphones. From an aesthetic view, the computer looks nice. The screen quality is amazing and the best feature of this machine. However, I couldn't fully appreciate it when I had to turn every game to low settings just to play a few minutes. A minor gripe, but no matter how clean your hands are, you will leave finger prints and marks on the top of the lid. I ended up returning this machine after 1 week for a full refund since it could not perform its primary function. Pros: - Beautiful Screen Cons: - Finger prints everywhere - Runs extremely hot - Could not support games on low settings - Loud - Windows popups crash all games

Love this laptop!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this laptop for 3 months and LOVE it! I purchased it as a dual device for work/personal/gaming use and it has exceeded expectations! The computer is fast, quiet, and very responsive! I travel a lot for work, so I was looking for a light and slim device and this computer is amazing! It handles every work task with ease and the gaming platform is second to none! My only Con, which I knew before purchasing is that the battery life is relatively low. There's enough to get through my workday under the right settings, but not much left after that. However, I rarely don't have or use the charger, so it's not a major issue.
