I had been searching for a replacement gaming laptop for quite some time, and after a batch of research, including a video from Dave Lee on YouTube, I narrowed in on this one and it's been exactly what I wanted. It's very light and surprisingly quiet for a gaming laptop. It seems to keep itself cool very well as I've forgotten to turn on my cooling lapdesk a few times and not even noticed. The feel of the keyboard is lovely, screen is bright, handles shades of darkness very well, and this particular build is a great configuration. (Mind you, I bought this one planning around replacing the SSD at some point with a larger size) It's a struggle to come up with any negatives, but if I were to be extremely nitpicky, I would say the track pad feel when using the buttons rather than tapping is a little stiff (but the track pad movement is great), and sometimes the case where you put your wrists can "creak" a little -- nothing major. Great laptop, great price, highly recommend it!

A bit pricy for the build quality - lots of flex above and below the keyboard and with the display, but this is because MSI has tried to keep the weight as light as possible. Otherwise, the fans & graphics are amazing, you can always cool boost to keep your GPU and CPU temps low.

This is the 3rd laptop I have had this month. I purchased this to run 2020 Design software and the rendered images look amazing. I have not had any luck with any other computer. This has solved all of my computer related problems with this software. Thank you.

This computer exceeded all expectations. Works through CAD renders like butter- steam games load with ease and there's never any lag. If you want a customizable laptop with top processor and graphics, (ALSO FOR ONLY 2K?!) then get this. Like seriously. You won't regret it.

I have been using this laptop for a month so far and have brought it to class and back and use it both in class and for gaming. It has so far been very reliable. The weight of the laptop is fairly good and works really well as a desktop replacement and classroom laptop.

Monsterous gaming laptop, covering pretty much every aspect of an ideal laptop. From the high refresh rate, to the 1070 Max Q, everything about this laptop is amazing. There is not and was not one downside that I could find. Nothing but good things coming from the gs65.

So far, I'm loving this laptop's sleek feel and design. My first MSI Laptop and I'm glad to try out a different brand of laptop. The laptop's sturdy build and look locked in my choice to buy it over the other laptop choices I had in mind. Overall pleased with the purchase.

I was in the market for a gaming laptop, specifically something I could use for school as well, as I’m a game design major. This laptop hit all the specs I needed, except for being a little low on space. Everything else in this laptop succeeds in what I need. It runs great and the SSD storage is a blessing. Might need to add more storage to make this the right fit for me, but if you are just looking for something for playing games, then it goes above and beyond.

I've had my eye on this laptop for a while. So far I love it! It looks amazing, and it is extremely powerful. It is on the higher end of laptops at the moment, but I believe the price is easily justified. The GTX 1070 graphics card is what ultimately sold me on this, as MSI puts out a lot of amazing laptops. The only item that concerned me at all is the casing itself. It is advertised that the case is a solid metal case, but it gives a bit too easily at the palm rests. This means resting your hands on the case while typing could put pressure on whats underneath it. It is very minimal, but I was concerned about it so I talked with the GS folks. The motherboard and chipsets set at the back of the laptop for cooling purposes (industry standard), and for this particular laptop under the palm rest is just the battery. The likelihood of that getting damaged is low even if you have heavy hands, so I went ahead and bought it.

I was first fascinated by the look of the MSI GS65. However, when I start to work with it, I find the performance is incredibly good as well. The screen is fantastic and Gaming is even better. Not to mention the price. I will recommend this laptop to a friend definitely.

Im absolutely satisfied with my purchase portability was the main selling point for me i work long hours and sit inside my truck most of the time so this made it perfect for gamming on the go Ps. i have a pure sine wave inverter so battery life isnt much of an issue

Amazing gaming laptop. It has power and speed. The screen is nice and big and very clear. I love the cooling system, my previous laptop got super hot. Really great for streaming and gaming at the sometime. Have pricey, but if you have some extra money, its worth it.

I had purchased this laptop planning to use it for school and utilize it's performance outside of school. The design of the laptop doesn't scream "gamer" and I would be conformable carrying this to class or a coffee shop. At max speeds the fans are audible but the the dragon center software I can set the cpu and fan speeds down low to not disturb others, as class only really needs a web browser and a few other non cpu intensive programs. The key travel is not what I was used to. It wasn't bad but there was a learning curve and it will take some practice to get up to snuff on this keyboard. The charger cable when plugged in either blocks some io ports or an exhaust port which I think is a bad design. MSI does have a nice warranty with accident protection and when registering it if you complete a 10 question survey about your experience with the laptop, they'll add an extra 3 months free onto your warranty free!

This is a really nice laptop for all types of applications. It doesn't get too loud with the fans blowing but the battery will not last if you are pushing it hard. It is very light and thin which I love. I just wish it was able to get the new 2070 model graphics.

the laptop is stunning. beautiful and not what id expect from MSI.. only issue is when I was in the store the laptop showed it had a Samsung SSD, and when I looked it up online the ssd showed that it was PCIE 3000 read speed, when I bought this laptop in the box I looked and it has the slower speed SSD of 500 read speed. I feel like this is a scam and that I should be sold what they display on the floor. I will be calling bestbuy to figure this out.

I didn’t know what to expect when walking into Bestbuy for a new laptop but this is unbelievable. Worker highly recommended it. The specs are amazing as I can use this for school and gaming. Lightweight and compact just make it a perfect combo. Just fell in love!

I am extremely satisfied with my GS65 Stealth Thin. The computing power and screen frame rate is impressive. Only real drawback is the loudness of the fan, but when compared with the overall size and impressive cooling it is by far worth the minor buzz.

With so many gaming laptops on the market with powerful processors, incredible graphics cards, astonishing displays and breath-taking prices... I made my decision based on these criteria: powerful, not so expensive, light-weight, and that allowed me not only to play but also to work in a corporate environment and this laptop meets all my requirements. PROS everything you see in the specifications. I won't go deeper into technical details. CONS I watched many reviews and they talked about the material, which for me is not an issue, the place of the A/C connector, well yeah it's kinda weird, and that is difficult to open and add more memory (which I may do in a couple of years). The only thing that I figured it out is that there's a difference between playing with the laptop connected and disconnected. It does not bother me... but if I have to say something, there you go. Hope this helps.

For the price, this laptop is a great choice for gaming with the GTX 1070, 512 SSD and 8th Gen Intel processor. To me, it was worth spending a little more for the better graphics card and SSD storage. It's hard to believe how much power is inside this thin laptop!
