This laptop is all aluminum, but uses paneling instead of a unibody construction. The thermals out of the box are decent, but can be dramatically improved after a repaste. If you're a PC enthusiast, it would take probably 30-45 minutes from start to finish to repaste this laptop. It's fairly easy but the the motherboard being upside-down may seem intimidating. Exercise caution when removing the ribbon cables, as well as when handling the motherboard itself. I saw about a ~25C drop in temperatures after repasting with Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut. Although this laptop has a GTX 1070 Max-Q, I am hitting about 1700Mhz boost after my repaste.

Feel overall value of the system was good. System performance is excellent.

I love how thin it is for a gaming computer compared to other laptops. The external design is very premium-like. When I set up the computer 70GB were already being used. Norton was already installed and it shows a lot of notifications. The fans randomly run and turn off when i'm browsing the web or just leaving it on idle. The track pad is a little stiff. I love the feel of the keyboard and colors you could choose from. With games, It is the best of course. I could run really high graphics when i'm playing and it last about an hour. I love the Dragon Center. It tells you everything you need to know about whats happening with your PC.

This MSI GS65 is almost impossibly powerful for it's size and price. The obvious problem with this is that the computer can get very hot and will require an external fan for proper cooling. Luckily almost every aspect of it is fully customizable for the tech savvy and pretty well optimized for those who prefer default settings. Is definitely a great gaming/all purpose laptop.

This purchase hit all the right notes when looking for a quality mobile gaming laptop. The newest i7 processor for my computing needs, 16gb ram for my multitasking jobs, and the 1070 for gaming this laptop does it all. All this while staying super slim and cool under load. Added bonus is the beautiful small bezels and the 144hz screen make everything on screen and off beautiful.

Awesome specs, works as advertised.... however... just know that the Best Buy version has a slower Sata HD than if you bought this anywhere else. Still plenty fast, but no M.2.

I purchased this laptop for school in order to perform some advanced 3D modeling and some basic computation tasks for other assignments. The graphics are great for what I need at school as well as some excellent gaming when I want. The CPU power is good, allowing me to perform many tasks at once with minimal lag. The only thing I have to complain about is the upgradability as MSI decided to place the RAM and disk storage on the underside of the motherboard, making it a bit difficult to access. Nevertheless, a great machine at an excellent value making for great bang for your buck. I hope to maintain it for years to come.

My opinion may be biased since I've never really had a nice laptop, but this laptop serves its purpose for all of my needs. It's not perfect, but pure high quality, My biggest issue would probably be the speakers which aren't the best. I haven't really had the chance to push the hardware to its limit but the performance so far and design make it well worth the purchase.

Great specs and screen, very sleek and "non-edgy" design, and decent build quality and battery life make this a great laptop for many people. The built-in mic is better than many laptop mics. Also, the packaging the laptop came in is simple, yet nice. It's pricey, but it's worth the price.

After long consideration between MSI gs65 and Aero 15x, I decided on MSI from best buy. I could certainly spend perhaps an extra $400-$500 to get faster ssd and 32gb ram. as a novice gamer, I am quite happy with configurations from best buy. there are many detailed reviews for MSI gs65 online and I highly recommend everyone who consider to buy to check them out.

Comparing with the other gaming laptops in the similar price tag, MSI GS65 Best Buy Edition definitely is the best! 6-core CPU, 1070 Max-Q GPU, 512 GB SSD and 16 GB DDR4 RAM, all marks checked! The only downside I would say is the build quality... It just cannot match the Thinkpad and Macbook I am currently using. All in all, it is a product with great value!

I purchased this laptop to be a multi-functional computer. I needed a laptop that would be able to keep up with a few games (LOL, CS, and Fortnite), edit videos, run programming exercises (python and open source code), and not die at the mere task of opening up Chrome. So far, it has lived up to all of my expectations and am more than happy with my purchase.

Great gaming laptop. Love the individually lit keys and the great cooling system. Also runs fairly quiet compared to other laptops of this caliber. The only real gripe I have with it is the lack of a substantial hard drive. With only the 512GB SSD I worry I will fill it up rather quickly but I do own multiple externals so for me this was not a major drawback.

A couple problems with the overheating and doesn't recognize my headset microphone but other than that it runs games at max settings and runs them better than my pc.

After spending a couple months looking at gaming laptops, I finally decided to go with MSI gs65. I wanted to get a really good graphics card, latest processor, enough storage and most important it had to be thin. This MSI laptop checked most of those boxes. I almost went with the razer blade but I couldn't justify paying 700 dollars more for the same specs.
