It gets hot every once in a while, but it still is very efficient for gaming.

I’m an IT guy and I’m pretty good at working issues like this out. After researching this issue, I discovered that this has been an ongoing issue with this and other models. I tried everything available to me and finally came to the conclusion that speakers were either defective or never hooked up correctly. What really Bothers me even more about MSI is that they are supposed to be a great company and have a great product yet they didn’t test this out to make sure the sound worked? That means that quality isn’t a concern maybe? I wouldn’t think any “GAMING PC’s” would ever make it to the Store without quality checks. Somehow it’s happening though because of the multitude of sound issues people are having with this model. It’s extremely obvious when the same kind of model has the same kind of problems, it’s usually a defect in the model or the build. So I ordered another as a replacement because no stores in any city nearby has any left. So the store had to order me one, which leaves me with no PC for a couple weeks. That’s why I give 3 stars only. Had I not had this issue, probably 5.

I am used to buying laptops and they being underpowered compared to desktops. However, this is the best laptop I have ever bought, especially for the black friday price. The 2060 graphics card in it blazes through renders, clocking a render time >8x faster than my desktop which has a 1080Ti. A fantastic laptop that doubles as a desktop on the go!

Fast, light, and $500 off! Was a great deal. Do recommend.

I'm a professional computer programmer and write AI software for computer vision, object detection, supervised training, etc. This computer can run for hours stressing the hardware. This computer is pretty impressive. I would definitely buy again.

Great SPEED AND performance , Looks sharp. Good value

Was a little leary of the slim gaming notebooks and was picking up my second Asus when this was recommended by an associate. Chassis quality is excellent. A little fan noise which I expected so it doesn't bother me too much. I have no complaints. Many have said they don't like the keyboard and that is actually one of my favorite parts. Low travel and easy to type. The backlighting options are a nice touch.

Owned this MSI for a month and a half. No problems at all. I have several Apple products but wanted this one for PC gaming. I often use it on my lap. It's pretty quiet and my wife says it doesn't bother her watching TV. Very fast. Runs warm as others have said. Would recommend it highly.

Great laptop for me so far... It does get super hot super quick, but ultimately if you wanted something more should have gotten a desk top. Quality is good, no issues beyond the heat here & there. I feel I got very good value for the specs - bought on holiday deals.

This is a great unit. If you want 10 key be careful this unit does not have that to reduce size and weight. It has lots of ram and the power unit is in a better spot than previous models. I also like that this units has a smaller screen bezel

I recently purchased the ASUS ROG Zephyrus M; however, during my first week back at school, the battery died after 2 hours without being plugged in... So I traded it back in and purchased this laptop. I am a CS student and currently do Machine Learning / AI research. I can now run my models on my laptop.. which is insane.. Also, I am getting about 6-8 hours of battery life when not using the GPU. As a student, this is the ultimate laptop, as it can literally do it all!

I wanted to buy a slim machine with powerful specs and this fits the bill. Couldnt find any other brand laptop for the value this offers for the price. Can get hot during gaming but that is expected with this profile. For all other tasks, the fans stay cool. Only thing I would have wanted is charging via USB-C.

Good gaming machine at a great price. Use it for animation , game design and Art. Excellent performance thus far.. have bought 4 of these in the past and this is by far the best configuration and a strong laptop.

I have never owned a gaming laptop, this one far exceeded my expectations. Easy to use, connects to every Samsung product with easy. I can run multiple gaming screens with minimal lag. Battery gets hot

Overall generally quite happy with this laptop. Primary use is for productivity with light gaming every now and then. I'm glad I opted for the version with 32gb memory and the 240Hz panel (noticeable difference from my 144Hz monitor, but this is game-changing if you're coming from another 60Hz laptop/desktop monitor). Cons include fans that can get quite loud while gaming and it can get pretty hot as well. I'm fine with these issues and am planning to get an external cooling solution to help. I'm a little concerned about the longevity of the hinges. PS: Used the laptop to write this review.

MSI is hands down a powerful laptop and has all kinds over "gamer" features. I ended up returning this but it was not because the laptop was faulty or bad, it was simply because I wanted the 2 in 1 more. By returning this and getting a surface book, I sacrificed some power and speed to be able to have something lighter and more portable. We have reached a point where traditional laptops are viewed as cumbersome as a desktop and I did need the ultra- light and flexibility of a 2 in 1. If you are looking for a great traditional laptop, this is awesome
