Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So i liked the specs on the laptop. Never thought to check and see if i could play a CD or DVD. I mean even a 200$ laptop has a disk player, but not this laptop. Games come on disks! What a joke. Ill never buy at BestBuy again. Gaming laptop, yeah right!

Ever been struck by lightning twice?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.where do i began? First 10 days it was perfect. A laptop used for my school and moderate gaming when I am not at home using my desktop. After that the nightmare began. As I was using my laptop I noticed the battery not charging. I tried calibrating my battery with the MSI program that was pre-installed, but before long it died and never turned on again. Thank you Best Buy customer service, they checked it out and saw I was not lying and replaced my laptop right away. As i was updating and using my BRAND NEW LAPTOP, 10 hours in it crashed, I paid no mind to it and continued to use it. I then realized that the GTX 1060 card was not working. As a computer nerd I figured it may have been a driver issue, so i uninstalled the driver and reinstalled the new driver. As I did my computer went into a Loop where it did not open windows properly and could not repair itself. It then corrupted my system files and I couldn't even open windows. As I tried to reboot and even factory reset my computer, all I got was file not found, or the infamous, ReagentC.exe false. It was then that I turned to MSI's wonderful customer service where they told me I can purchase a usb reboot from them for a small price of 39.99 + shipping (10.99), send it in which will take 3-4 weeks to fix, when I just got the computer less than 24 hours, or download windows myself into a usb drive and manually installed EVERYTHING. As a geek that I am, i choose to install windows myself. Then started the great 2-3 hour windows install with all of the drivers. I felt triumphant as everything was going smoothly until I installed the NVIDIA 1060 driver only to find myself spiraling into the same problem. I called MSI again and told them my hardship, only to find them shrugging to my problem and saying that I had a defective unit. As I told them it was my 2nd unit in less than 2 weeks, all I got was a another shrug and a comment of me having bad luck. Now I make the long journey back to Best Buy and give them yet ANOTHER defective unit. Hopefully they will give me a refund because I will not try this a 3rd time. Fool me once shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. Pros - Works great when its actually working Cons - LOL if you don't know by now read my story again.

Concerned and may return for a refund
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will most likely return this. My first problem is that it's not a powerhouse at all. It lags, is non-responsive at times and trying to do anything feels like you queue up your actions. Example: Opening a browser(chrome) takes several seconds and then trying to type the site in or search is another delay. Second, I loaded up a game through steam and I get this strange monitor issue where it flashes portions horizontally across the screen like an old TV on the fritz! It's hard to describe but a portion of the screen goes to static and then if you leave the game it's still there. Third, I tried playing games on high/ultra high, this simply won't do it. I was better off on my desktop. It's a lot of money for poor performance out of the box. I would suggest a spending a little more on the asus or alienware and get your money's worth. I think replacing my desktop is a better investment and less money.

Horrible Laptop!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had issues with this laptop ever since I have bought it in July of last year. When I first bought it, I broke the primary hard drive for losing my password and turning off the PC when it was restarting. The second time I bought it, it was running well, until today, the secondary drive is broken, because whenever I try to install a game or a simple program, the hard drive would always go missing. No matter what I do, and even if I shut it down or restart the PC, it would always go missing again. I’m definetely going to be returning this and getting an even better PC than this garbage.

It has a life time of 6 months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Extremely bad build quality, this laptop was bent after carrying it from one side, consequently the trackpad stopped working. Two usb ports stopped working after 6 months of use. AND NOW THE SSD IS DOWN. all this happenned in 6 months, this laptop is not recommended for people who cannot afford buying a laptop every six months.

Sound Sucks
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not going into great details but a new laptop right out of the box has super low sound. Did a little research and this is a Major issue. Bluetooth sound is unusable. The computer is fast but fails just on the sound issues.
