This is a great laptop. Fast and quiet with a lot of great features. Only ding is that it comes with a lot of bloatware. I cleaned off all the superfluous stuff and now it sings.

I have the 1080p screen model of this laptop with the 128gb ssd and 1tb hard drive. Following the suggestions many reviewers had here I did a clean install of windows 10 and manually installed Dragon Center to get rid of any bloatware. The computer was running fine for a month until red splotches started forming around the edge of the screen. It became progressively worse until one day a giant red and purple splotch was in the corner. I never left the screen on for extended periods of time on a still frame so I don't think this is screen burn, and even if it were the laptop is only a few months old it shouldn't have any. The splotch also moves around and spreads out over time, and if I press it with my thumb it clears out before coming back to place. The screen has also started coming out of the metal shell, I think the glue came off. Luckily MSI has a warranty and they said they would fix it, but the repair center is in California and I live on the east coast. They want me to pay for shipping over to them, wait about a MONTH for repairs, and then wait for it to ship back. I have work and classes so I can't afford to be laptopless for two months right now, I may have to buy a third party screen. Other than the horribly installed screen this is actually a great laptop. But be weary and return it immediately if you expect a problem with your screen.

This laptop has lots of power, speed and memory. I'm a happy customer.

Got this on Black Friday as an upgrade for my older gaming desktop. Runs great and came with 6 months of webroot antivirus protection. A cooling pad or elevating the back end where the fans are will help keep it cooler. Power options can be a little confusing at first, best to ask someone about it if not too familiar with computers.

I upgraded to this bad boy from a 4th gen i7, 8GB RAM, 1 TB Hard drive and man the power upgrade was majestically phenomenal. I had been wanting to get into PC gaming and I was only playing one game but even that game didn't need that much power to play it. However, my old computer just lagged so bad I had constant stutters and crashes that I just got over it. I planned on an Alienware but my friend convinced me not to and said look into Msi. I'm hard-headed but ive just heard so much negative stuff on Alienware support and motherboards frying i just didnt want to go through that so I did my research and was planning on building this PC from Msi directly. When I saw that Best Buy had the exact same laptop and specs I was planning to build for $400 cheaper as a pre-built then I just had to pick it up from here! no-brainer!! This laptop runs like a dream and is a powerful entry-level PC gamer laptop. Ive always liked mobility so opted for an Msi laptop and I have used it for my business meetings as well but I have since been starting to grow to something bigger. Boot-time is super fast. I currently run three 24" external monitors with the laptop screen disabled and I have no problems multi-tasking. This beast runs them no problem 1080p @ 144hz by DisplayPort all three on "2nd screen only" display option. So far it has run all games ive downloaded no problem no crashes, no stutters, no screen tearing but then again im running everything Msi. laptop, monitors, mouse, keyboard and opens programs/runs multiple applications simultaneously like a breeze. I'll have 10 tabs open, a game running (game is type of game where afk'ing is possible) and a youtube video playing on my other screen while using Microsoft Word, typing up an essay or some other document. The Solid State Drive Hard drive is lighting fast especially when games are downloaded to it. I didnt want to overload the SSD with too many games so i only put the ones I use the most on it. 256GB for an SSD is plenty of space for 3-5 games easily and the 1 TB mechanical hard drive is great for storage. The Nvidia GEFORCE GTX1060 6GB graphics card is beast as well pushing any game on ultra detail settings like a dream. I manipulate to use just the 1060 via Nvidia Surround when gaming and it runs games smooth with amazing detail. The RGB keyboard options are awesome. A little limited on effects but nonetheless very cool and the effects are all manipulated through Msi's Dragon center which is a very cool application on its own. This laptop has served me well and has run everything ive thrown at it. I've grown to the point where I now need a 2080Ti GPU to run games on ultra-wide setting which will require an eGPU but i'll definitely be using this laptop as my business laptop cuz I cant stand lag. you wont be disappointed with the gaming laptop. Ready for entry level PC gamers/graphic designers or an all around beastly computer. It might be overkill for those who casually only use for web browsing/Microsoft Office and youtube videos but if you hate lag/boot time on programs then this is the laptop for you AND definitely for the PC gamer/ graphic design.

Purchased for my son. He is loving the speed of this computer. Makes his gaming time so enjoyable. Now instead of walking away while a game installs or loads, it literally takes just a minute. Great buy!

In my opinion the MSI GS series has always been great for on the go. Powerful to run games and CAD software (autocad and revit) for school. Only drawback for portability is low battery life.

This was a birthday present for our son. I did not want to buy a 6+ pound laptop just for gaming. This small, weights under 4 pounds and is great for gaming and school work.

With it's specs it's an absolute power house when it comes to gaming. However, with it's specs it should be just as powerful when it comes to other heavyweight programs too. I use this for my photography job and I'm always using Photoshop to edit pictures, if I open more then 2 pictures at a time it slows WAY down. My home PC, now about 8 years old, half the ram, far inferior 1st Gen core i7 and a ATI HD 7700 runs circles around this laptop. If your a gamer, buy this laptop, you won't be disappointed at all. Gaming is what this thing was built for. If you edit photos and videos stick with a desktop PC because this thing will slow to a crawl and leave you scratching your head as to why.

MSI gaming computer has amazing speed and gaming capabilities with extremely light weight. Only glitch; first one purpose had graphic and video card critical error. Once replaced, it is great.

I love my MSI laptop it does all I need and more, going to be using this for graphic design as well as gaming of corse. Love the look and feel of it and MSI does good packaging as well nice black box. My Best Buy teck gentalman was very nice and took his time and didn’t rush me witch I liked a lot.

For the price, it's a great laptop. There's some bloatware to get rid of but otherwise a suitable desktop replacement if you haven't upgraded in a while.

The only caveat is the configuration. SSD hard drive had so many different partitions that a lot of the "operating system" drive had little space to install programs. That being said, I am not a gamer and am using this laptop for databases and development.

Light weight and surprisingly thin for the sheer power it has. I will say that if you a playing any demanding games it is better to play plugged in than on battery as the difference in performance will give you fps drops. Other than that a minor nitpick is that all of the lights indicating cap lock num lock and charge are all on the bottom of the keyboard so if you want to check any of those it's not easily visible. With all that said I loved everything about it from the lights on the keyboard to the number of us ports. Like I said it's very light weight and just overall a great laptop.

Bought this for my husband who is a gamer. He has been loving it. It is the first laptop that can compete with his desktop for performance in his gaming.

It's dificult to find something wrong with this machine! From the unpacking to the first game that I've played on her, I was quite impressed. It's weight, design and performance are superb. Although the battery time and the screen itself could have been a little better, they are not bad at all. I definitely recommend this laptop!
