I have been using this laptop for the last three months and have had no complaints whatsoever. MSI has great customer support for any issues you run into, and the computer has recognized any usb accessory I've plugged in and automatically downloaded the drivers for it. This is my first gaming pc and I've been extremely satisfied with the purchase

This laptop is awesome and easily customized to fit your need and style. The sleek look is perfect for work and of course game time! The refresh quickly updates with ultimate clarity. You can play any game you or use design programs for work on this piece of art personal tool of a laptop. I made the best choice for an affordable 2020 laptop. Enjoy!!!!

Viable Alternative to a Razer Blade 15

    Posted .

So I had tried a number of different gaming laptops before finally settling on this unit. - Razer Blade Stealth 2019 (+ eGPU) - Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 - Alienware M15 R3 In terms of a 'complete package' experience, this came the closest. And I ultimately ended up switching from the M15 R3 over to this bad boy. Visually, this laptop resembles a Razer Blade, minus the LED logo, instead favoring the much more subtle MSI dragon shield (which I can barely see most of the time). The stealth aspect of the name certainly fits this machine. The only RGB is on the (excellent) Steelseries partnered keyboard. So it's pleasing to the user, minus the distraction for the bystander. I wish the MSi logo beneath the keyboard was black, though. That'd really complement the rest of the aesthetic. Maybe I can plastidip it or something, haha. The only real issue I've found with this laptop are some aspects of the build quality. - The bottom plate, while metal, does flex. After opening it up and looking into it, another spacer or two against the chassis would eliminate this flex/creak that you are able to get if you press down hard enough. - You can get a similar creak if you press hard enough on the keyboard chassis. For me, if I press the F key unreasonably hard, I get a bit of a creak beneath it. Only a problem if I really lean into it, and I can smash the key as hard as I want and will not hear it. Not necessarily an issue, just something I noticed. - If you watch or read other reviews of this machine, you'll come across complaints about the plastic lip at the front of the machine. Sure, I'd prefer a unibody of aluminum here, as opposed to the plastic. It has a different shine than the rest of the body, and you can notice it. Honestly, I think a lot of that is bias, though. I forget it's there with use, and won't notice it unless I run my finger along it. Now onto using the device. - Firstly - good thing they provide an amazingly large, branded cloth. This thing is truly a sucker for fingerprints. I nicknamed my machine "The Detective" because he's constantly dusting for them. - The screen. Nice response rate, 240hz will yield no complaints, either. It is matte, which is great compared to a shiny option on something like a mac. I haven't gone too deep into color accuracy, but people much more knowledgable than me in that regard don't complain too much. - Speakers. This isn't quite a complaint for me, but it is close. They can get extremely loud, but it does come across with a tinniness to it. The bass is rather lacking, and higher treble notes, at volume, can be harsh. Hardly an audiophile, though. - Keyboard and Trackpad. Lumping these together since they're both amazing. The keyboard has a good amount of throw, and a great tactility and feel to the keys. The RGB does bleed a bit underneath the keys, but Steelseries in general likes that aesthetic (I use their peripherals near exclusively). But it is per key, and you can do whatever you like with it - which is great. Layout is a tad weird, but it took me all about 8 seconds to get used to it. And I actually type faster there than on my work's Macbook Pro or even the mechanical keyboards I use. The trackpad is rather shallow depth-wise, but makes up for it by consuming 50% of the under-keyboard area. Positioning is fine, but you might run into palm rejection issues given its size. Just turn it off while using a mouse. Easy fix. I would put it on a similar level to other premiere trackpads (even if it is a diving board mechanism). - Performance. So I don't have an issue here, aside from the fact I wish Best Buy advertised it correctly. It is a MaxQ design, so expect limited performance compared to a super/+ MaxP in a similar form factor. Although benchmarks of something like FarCry 5 between this and the Alienware M15R3 only yielded about a 10-12% frame hit. Which isn't bad at all. I get triple digits in most everything I throw at it. The fans are a bit higher in pitch, and when they're fully spooled, it takes on a different tonal signature, which can be a bit more distracting. But headphones erase it - so no issues from my perspective. Battery life is far superior to other units I used. I get about 6-7 hours, reliably. As for longevity - the thunderbolt 3 port (which also supports PD is pretty awesome if you're in a pinch) adds a ton of lifespan, here. I have a Razer Core X GPU sitting around. If needed, I can always upgrade the graphic performance and give this thing another few years of life. I've also already added another NVMe SSD and upgraded to 32 gigs of RAM (another perk of this one vs. some competitors). Cost. This is the final note I'll make but it houses better performance than the Razer Blade 15 offered through Best Buy. Believe the cost is about the same, minus any sales, etc. Overall, an easy recommendation and my daily driver now - compared to the others tried that I mentioned up above. If you spruce things up a bit more for the GS67 Stealth, you'll have another buyer from me, MSi.

I purchased this laptop expecting it to be hot like a few other reviews stated. I am consistently getting 80' CPU and 70' GPU playing current triple A games. It is a beast running warzone at 100fps 240hz. Do not regret my purchase at all. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I will eventually had better Thermal paste and i expect it will cool it down even more!

The MSI GS66 was my first ever gaming laptop I acquired. Coming from console the difference in how it feels and runs is just insane, my CPU usually stays around 83-88 in long gaming sessions, and my GPU around 60-71. The size and mobility that come with this computer is great for people looking to be able to game and work, or attend college.

Awesome Bang for your buck. Great display graphics and ease of use. Runs quiet for gaming laptop. Quick option to change fan speed for a quick cooldown. really like large mouse trackpad. only issue is the keys on keyboard are soft (little feedback) and the edging around laptop is not flush so anticipate peeling or cracking in future.

Laptop functions as it should. As the other reviews have said, it performs extremely well. Before the Gs66, I bought an Asus Rog Zepherus M15, but it gave me some software issues, so I had to return. I was disappointed to experience software issues with this too. When I first turned on the laptop, I was unable to adjust the keyboard backlight. I've updated all the necessary drivers, but somehow steel series would not recognize my laptop. After a bit of tampering, though, I was able to fix it.

Played World of Warship, and a variety of RPG games at high resolution, no issues. Be mindful it will take a couple days of updates and updates - restarts and restarts, to get everything working smoothly, update your video drivers, after all the MS updates. One downside, I'm not crazy of the keyboard keys, too soft, prefer a firmer press.

I am completely pleased with the purchase of my laptop. Though I haven't had it long, it is excellent. It took me quite awhile of researching to decide which gaming laptop to purchase within my budget. So far, I feel I made the best choice for me.

I got the MSI as a Christmas present for my son. I did ALOT of research on the different gaming laptops and was down to either the Razor or MSI. What put the MSI over the top, besides the reviews, was customer service. NO COMPETITION. MSI has the better customer service for sure. Anyway, he loves his new gaming computer!

First thing to note is the amazing display, the high refresh rate makes everything feel buttery smooth. Though the laptop is a bit on the pricier side for the same specs it makes up for that is construction and design. It really earns the name stealth, by not being to out there with RGB and "gamer" aesthetics. Overall a great machine.
