I bought this for a mix of mechanical engineering work and gaming and it’s been a great experience.

It’s ok. I wish I would have picked one with a number keys on the side. I did buy a keyboard to use that does hv the number keys which makes it easier to use. I also had issues with delivery and was disappointed in Best Buy customer service which was terrible. To have paid over $2000 for this laptop it was not worth it.

Broken keys happened within a few months. A year and a half later the hinge is now breaking. Fan runs loud, but computer itself is decent. But I wouldn't want to deal with these hardware issues.

The noise (fans I assume) was intolerable. I didn't even try to use the machine because it was so bad. The fans were whirring non stop with a tinny sound even with CPU usage at 4%. Unfortunately I can't upload video of laptop/sound here. Returning to the store.

I have had nothing but trouble with this laptop. The first couple of months it was overheating in simple tasks. 6 months after, it started crashing randomly. Now the screen popped off and the speaker stopped working. I had insurance the whole time and still had to pay out of pocket to get it fixed, because Geek Squad would say there was nothing wrong with the device. Very upset with the service and this specific device.

Really Nice Finish Great Performance Thin and light

I thought I was buying a better than average gamer laptop. I am not a great gamer, but I do game some and I was very unhappy with my original values laptop. This laptop is very complicated at my computer skills level, and worse is that it runs very, very hot! I suggest don't buy this brand unless you are a qualified tech! I have chatted with the brand support people, and I guess my question was too simple for them, and they brushed me off! My experience for the Best Buy salespeople was that they seemed detached and none commital

After doing tons of research, I was very much excited to purchase this laptop. Externally, it’s beautiful and feels solid albeit it is a finger print magnet as people say. The all black look is perfect for professionals and gamers alike. However, on the very first day of ownership, while playing PUBG on low/medium settings for maybe 15 minutes, I noticed the fans were loud and spinning really fast. I ran HWiNFO to check the temps and was startled to see that all six core temps were in the red registering over 90°C. At just 60% load, I was looking at core temps of 94°C, 91°C, 96°C, 96°C, 99 °C, and 93°C. RED ALERT!!! I did some research which basically indicated that temps should not exceed 90°C unless under very heavy sustained load which was definitely not the case here. As I did not want to deal with opening the laptop to try to reapply thermal paste or do anything that would immediately void my warranty, I returned it to Best Buy the next day. Reviews for the GS66 are generally very good so I have to believe I got a defective unit. However, as this was my first experience with a MSI laptop, it has left me very wary.
