Also, purchasing this membership allowed me to get a discount on the main product I was purchasing at the same time, and the discount was more than what I had to pay for this membership, so the membership was in effect free - it was a no-brainer to get.

I let it expire, and 1 month later there was a promo for free $50 gift card for spending $250 at Best Buy. I mean, when they do stuff like that it more than pays for itself. Much more worth it than Amazon Prime for me at least.
