Wolf Alice is one of those bands that speaks to those of us who are disillusioned with the current state of music. Everything has become so synthesized, so polished that you wonder how much of the artist showed up in the final product. This band offers a unique sound in a musical climate filled with sound-alikes. Sure, there is influence from bands from the glory days of alternative rock (you can hear a little Nirvana, My Bloody Valentine, maybe some Sonic Youth), but it's a unique synthesis and makes for a surprisingly assured debut. The band has been honing their craft for several years, and the end result is a very solid effort that sets the bar high for future releases. Recommended if you enjoy the sound of '90s alternative rock, but from a band that still manages to have a sound all its own.

New artists like this give you hope that the music actually matters. Strong cd with a good mix of original music. Great vocalist and musicians who create a solid rock sound.

Wolf Alice's sound evokes 90s rock and shoegaze, but doesn't come across as nostalgia. "Moaning Lisa Smile", "Bros", and "Swallowtail" are standout tracks.

I bought this for one of the songs occasionally played on the radio, and the more I listen, the more I like it. Looking forward to their next effort.

A handful of good songs , overall a good rock / indie album !

If you like grunge music this is the band. Ellie's voice is amazing and Joff can play the heck out of the guitar

Wolf Alice has a very cool 90's US alt-rock / English shoegaze sound. Overall, a very solid debut album.
