I bought a bunch of these bulbs because they're supposed to be the best. But I returned all of them because they kept needing to be reset, about once per week. It was very fustrating, the tech just isn't there yet. Note: I used them on the Apple ecosystem, they may work better on other smarthome platforms.

Got my lights yesterday, paired with the Nanoleaf app and Apple Homekit… then today someone accidently switched off the light switch and all connectvity with Homekit was lost, I even tried a factory reset of the bulbs and removed them from Homekit and the bulbs will still not pair with Homekit, retuning them today.

If you want these to work with google home look somewhere else. When I tried to connect the Nanoleaf account to my google home it said connected successfully but the bulbs never showed up in the google home app. Returned these immediately. For the price they ask, this should have been fixed long time ago. Bulbs at half price than this works great with google home.

Low quality lights, brightness barely does more than aesthetic LED tea light patio bulbs. Does not work with apple home as intended since matter took over product is super buggy. Better off with five dollar lights or high end.

    Annoying setup, decent bulbs

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Pros: These bulbs have great color accuracy and respond to changes almost instantly. Cons: The setup process can be a pain depending on your network setup. They use either Bluetooth Le, or some combination of matter/thread. In order to schedule any automations on android, they have to be setup through the Google Home app. This doesn't work on Bluetooth Le mode, so they need to be setup with matter over thread, which requires a matter/thread router. Individual bulbs often disconnect from matter, so google home says that they are unavailable. Luckily you can still control them with the nanoleaf app, if you are within bluetooth range. These also refuse to work with the nanoleaf desktop app. Even though I have them running on a thread network, the desktop app always says they are not on thread. Overall, when they work, it is like magic, they are bright enough for 1 bulb to light up an entire room, and the colors are nice and vivid. But the matter/thread setup process can make them a pain to use.

    I Can’t do this anymore

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I recover the Nanoleaf started kit with the hexagons. It’s cool and looks good in my room so I said okay I’ll buy these bulbs so everything can be the same and on the same app and I can put everything on a schedule. Well you can’t do that with these bulbs they aren’t supported to use the schedule in the bank leaf app even though you can turn them off an on from the app. Who does that make sense? Also you have to have a google hub or Alexa or Apple home pod to do anything with these. This stupid smart home stuff is getting so ridiculous. I bought a good home mini so I could have lights in the living room and my room well the google home mini isn’t supported with the Nanoleaf you have to have the big google home thing and THEN you can get a mini. Like what? Thats absurd. Can’t use my phone because I don’t have an Apple HomePod and the reason I don’t have a ridiculously expensive Apple HomePod? I’m glad you asked, it’s because it doesn’t play Spotify which is a service I pay for. So at what point are we as a society going to say to these companies stop making me buy your whole series of products just to have the one product work correctly. I -the consumer- will buy what product is the best quality and the best bang for my buck. I need the product I bought to work with everything else I have. I don’t want to buy your stupid upgraded hub just to have a schedule on a freaking light. I know they have the technology to have these stupid $15 lightbulbs be on the schedule with the other things that they already have on the “schedule “ it’s stupid, it’s ridiculous and, it’s just a money grab.

I don't know why there are so many negative reviews. I've had great success with Nanoleaf products in the past so I ignored what everyone else was saying and purchased the three pack of essentials. I had no issues pairing these with my existing SmartThings ecosystem and was quickly setup with my existing matter/thread networks. I would give them a 4.5/5 due to a current issue with the power on state. It only seems to work when the bulbs are set by color, not by temperature. Overall great product, will be buying again. You won't find more affordable RGB Smart Bulbs with 1100 lumens.

    I actually HATE Nanoleaf now.

Garbage. Every single bulb needs to be factory reset by turning it on for a few seconds and off for a few seconds five times and then re-added to the network EVERY TIME there’s a power outage. I have contacted support for why I need to spend a day resetting bulbs EVERY TIME there’s a brief power outage and all they do is send me directions on how to factory reset EVERY BULB in the house EVERY TIME there’s a brief power outage.

We are truly sorry for the trouble on your Nanoleaf A19, but no worries. There is an option for Power Loss Recovery which should help in case there is a power outage in the Nanoleaf App. 1) Once you're in device settings, swipe left on your bulb 2) Click on the three circles 3) Then click "More Settings" At the top, you should see the option for "Power Loss Recovery" Please let us know if that works out for you, let us know if you have further questions.

Buy this product if you want to spend an entire day configuring three lights. I’ve been using computers since the early 1990s and this product is poorly designed, doesnt work as promised, and creates more frustration than necessary given thet its just a lightbulb.
