It's a solid product when it works. The first one sent to me didn't power on at all, but the second satisfied my basic expectations.

This is a fun lighting system, it's creative, but a bit on expensive side. Met and exceeded my expectations in terms of look, fit and finish, and customizability. They really match the decor in our room. You get the maximum amount of light modules you can use with a single power module. I had used the app for the lights, so I use the button on the back to move it to different modes, which works great for my needs. These are awesome and extremely easy to setup. All you have to remember for the app is set it up to a 2.4 Ghz network. Hooks up to Alexa and Google Home like a breeze. Once you get the first one level, the rest clip right into place. This is easy because there is a swivel on the back and adhesive so you just stick it to the wall. Unlimited configurations, you can add on more packs in the future if desired. These things really are awesome. They are easy to figure out, work beautifully, and are very versatile in terms of adding the right design element to your atmosphere. Incredibly bright at 100%, a 7-pack will fairly easily light the room at night. The app connected to my lights without any issue and I have yet to lose connection or have a time where my lights are unresponsive. The first thing I noticed is that these are lighter plastic than I was expecting and afraid to drop this. Each hexagon is a good 8” size. They are very easy to install with the cord noticeably hanging down the wall and each hexagon being connected to your design through mini connectors that communicate to each other. I like that it also has the option to touch it for added control. The connection option of this is via sticky pads. The color output from this is surprisingly vivid and bright. I like the option to add more in the future if I wanted to. We had fun decorating our room with this. Hexagons fit together in all sorts of patterns. It is a 7-pack and really cool, with colorful slow-change modes, fast-change mode, monochrome flash mode, brightness adjustment mode, timing function, you can switch multiple modes with a little. You can use them in more scenarios, so that is cool. It is very sensitive to touch. You can create any structure to suit to be creative. Let's look at some positives: - The lights can be arranged in many different patterns which is nice. You can position them in infinitely many ways. - They can be turned up to be nice a bright, providing a nice ambiance in a bedroom as the only light source. - They can be mounted to the wall and are sufficiently stable. - They have a nice fluid gradient flow between colors. - They are bright and offer so many different combinations and colors. I highly recommend these awesome lights! They add so much more to our room set up and the shapes you can make out of them to fit your taste makes it even better! The app allows you to customize or download color schemes and fairly easy to use! I love mine and have received so many compliments about these lights! I would recommend them to anyone who loves this sort of lighting. I plan to purchase another set soon to make bigger geometric shapes.

I’m really digging the Nanoleaf. I’ve seen them in restaurants before and assumed they were priced significantly more than the actual buy in is for a 7 pack of hexagons. It’s also why I haven’t invested in the Phillips hue style bulbs, because while it’s cool having the ability to change your lights to all kinds of fun colors, I seriously am skeptic of how often I’d personally want anything other than just the color of a regular light bulb that, you know, makes it so you can actually see things in your room. BUT this is different because it’s essentially a piece of art intended for your wall. It’s an interactive light poster, if you will. And instead of having to figure out what color you want to set it each time you turn it on, Nanoleaf has made it dead simple to pick from any number of “scenes” that cycles through all kinds of colors (including “Christmas” which is, yep, red, green and white), meaning you can mostly just set it and forget it. Even better are the scenes that respond to sound. These are great and work surprisingly well. I like leaving the Nanoleaf in one of these scenes, because then the light is off when no one is in the room. (Also, if you have a young child prepare for them to flip out at this feature and spend hours yelling and making sounds to see the lights come on.) I have a dedicated theater room in a basement so it can get really dark in there. I like having a little light on while watching a movie or show and these lights are so bright that I have to back the brightness down to under 25% when watching. Otherwise, it’s just too much even with a soft color palette. But on that note, it’s so great to be able to have dim light that’s NOT white for this scenario. And Nanoleaf have all the off-whites covered. The app is good. Not great - definitely have had a few buggy moments in the Android version (firmware never downloaded) and an overall better experience on an iPad Pro. Still, it’s got a lot going for it and I’m excited to play around with creating my own scenes for specific use cases. No issues connecting to Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple’s HomeKit. This is the first time I’ve used a smart device with HomeKit and FYI you can access different scenes for the Nanoleaf right in control center on your iPhone/iPad - which is terrifically convenient. Getting everything running via voice and Alexa has been a bit hit and miss, but I’m inclined to blame Alexa here. Need to test it out more. Overall, really cool product if you’re looking to spruce up a blank wall in a room and like the option of adding some color without having to paint. Application to the wall was super simple - the hardest part is just deciding how you want to do your layout. Would a remote be nice? A remote might be nice but then also one more thing to have to buy batteries for. I like it a s is.

Really liven ups a room once installed. Integration with Apple HomeKit is fantastic as well.

Cool colors but Bluetooth disconnects after 40 mins. Also sticker grip doesn’t fully support and it falls down a frequently with more connected. But overall the lights are cool and is a vibe.

Love the lights but had to return product because it wouldn't stay connected. Tried many times but eventually gave up.

Not as bright as I thought. Stickers on back don’t last long has to use permanent tape and gorilla tape.

When it’s lit it’s more circles than hexagons light does not go all the way to the edges and forms a perfect circle

Nanoleaf shapes was interesting but I did not like the cord hanging down the wall. So I took it back to the store.

I would like to like these lights but they don't work at all right out of the box. They won't enter wifi pairing. The indicator lights never come on. Not completely unexpected as others have mentioned issues with set up. Google says to try soft and hard reset - doesn't work. Ok, so I'll call Nanoleaf tech support. They do not answer or return your call. I'd rather chat or talk to a live person, but whatever, I'll submit a ticket online. Wait a day. They want me to send a video of the light not working. Do they not believe me? Is the troubleshooting so difficult they can't walk me through it? I take a video and send it. Wait another day. They can't see the video even though it's clearly attached to my email. Maybe it's too big for their email system. Download video compression app, send it again. Now they claim my fingers are in the way and they need to see the lights come on. The issue is the lights don't ever come on. This was my original reason for the ticket! My fingers are not too fat, your product doesn't work. I'm going to try exchanging it at the store. If you have similar problems, don't waste your time with tech support.

Horrible product. We had sooo many connect issues. The bluetooth did not work half of the time. Expensive for no reason. I returned the product for a refund.

I hate this lights i spent 2hrs building the shape and trying to get them to work with the app with not success. 40 minutes another day and still not working. White is the only color i can see work

Be prepared to replace the paint on your walls because these lights fall off of the wall often and the included adhesive is strong enough to rip your paint off with them.

I bought these guys for me im a pretty tech savvy person if i say so myself. if you have the device in your colection on your nanoleaf app and then you remove it from homekit and reset the pannels the app still has record of it and won’t let you pair it. As of now I haven’t seen any documentation about it but if I didn’t have a technical mind i would have thought they were broken. But when they work they work good I’ve been satisfied with them ever since

These Nanoleaf lights are a great addition to my automated home. These lights are amazingly cool! I received these lights couple of weeks ago but didn't get a chance to install and test them until few days ago. I got the lamp with 7 hexagonal panels. All the panels are stacked on top of each other inside the box with great protection. So there's no fear of these lights being damaged in transit whatsoever. These lights are awesome. Easy setup, go to the beat of music pretty well, and came with mounts that attach to walls very easily. I like the lights and I think they're a great value. The item is as described. They seem fairly well made and the process for hooking them all together is easy. I think the lights themselves are pretty good and have a wide range of effects. The lights are very bright when used at 100%. I especially love that each segment can display a variety of colors. The touch feature on the base unit is a really nice feature too. The iOS app allows you to choose a single color (for all the hexagons) or various dynamic effects. Some of the effects are very attractive. As a nice looking mood light, with some flexibility, and with the option for dynamic colors, one can't complain. The app asks for your location, but only because that permission is required to scan for WiFi networks - you can give it a one-time permission for setup and is not needed again. It's actually smart enough to understand that even though your phone might be on a 5GHz network, you may want to connect it to a different network and does the right thing by scanning for every network and choosing the one you want the light to use. It asks for bluetooth permissions so that the phone can tell the light which WiFi network to use. Here are some pros: - Pretty in dark areas. - Unique way to implement lighting. - Well built lights, easy to assemble, and rearrange. - Work with Apple Homekit, Alexa and google They're well engineered and manufactured. The hexagons are held together with clips that connect in the back. I was worried they might be flimsy, but they're not. The color effects are quite nice. They're really vibrant, can get incredibly bright, and the combinations you can put the tiles in are endless. Everyone that sees it in my place has noticed it and asked about where to purchase it. The combination of light patterns and colors is really cool and you can literally make the design of the lamp into almost an endless array of shapes by assembling the blocks in any order. The predefined patterns are very well done and it reacts nicely to music. The pattern designer takes a couple tries to get the hang of it, once you do, it's a whole new world of possibilities to play with. Overall, I'm satisfied with this item and would recommend it.

These look great but sometimes they become unresponsive to wifi control for a few minutes which can be quite annoying.

Bought these for my dad. Legit did not hide that it was his favorite Christmas gift this year.

Purchased as a Christmas gift they were on the wall a short time and all came crashing down at once. I have read this happens contacted company directly disappointed

The new nanoleaf shapes are an incredibly cool and customizable product. The new design of mounting these leaves is much better than the old design. Now they have a center mounting bracket that has a command like strip on them that you can move around with ease (as long as you have more mounting squares). Setup was a breeze with these. The Nanoleaf app lets you use AR to see how your design would look like on your wall. And it is extremely accurate and to scale! I was very impressed with this feature because it made placing the nanoleaves a breeze with a clear picture in mind since I have a tough time visualizing things on my own. Connecting and mounting the leaves is self explanatory and once everything is in place and plugged in, all you have to do is 2 steps in the app and they are synced. Alexa compatibility is nice, she can run different scenes for you and what not and it makes it convenient instead of perusing through the app. There are a myriad of scenes to download and play with, and the possibilities are literally endless. I even found a scene for my favorite football team (Go Browns!). The rhythm feature is my favorite part. You can have a real life discotec in your own home now with that, it syncs to sound of the beat with embedded microphones that pick up the rhythms. This is a great starter kit and it is very easy to expand upon (but expensive). But the starter kit is enough for my office and gives plenty of bright light with just 7 hexagons.
