Pro: -simple setup -Alexa integration -Improved connection tabs Con: -big bezels -small coverage -power brick is big and needs a lot of space from the outlet The Nanoleaf Shapes are small, but provide cool lighting effects. The bezels are somewhat thick, so there’s a gap between the lighted panel. These panels are small, so all together, you only get about a foot worth of coverage. The power brick is really big and takes up a lot of space. The setup is easy, done by connecting each piece with a small linking tab. These tabs have been improved over the earlier generations. They are thicker and snap together making them less likely to break. You finish the setup in the app, where you assign the configuration of the panels. For iOS, the app connects to HomeKit. You can use the control bar to cycle through color schemes, but the app, which requires an account, allows more customization. With the app you can create moving colors, rhythm based, or interactive scenes. While they look nice, I wish by now they would have added a way for me to create my own fully custom motions and effects panel by panel. You can also download what other people have created. The Alexa integration works fine, but sometimes it would lose connection. In the Alexa app, you’re limited to changing the basic color, but you can create a scene in the Nanoleaf app and command Alexa to switch scenes. The colors are bright and the effects really draw attention. The bezels could have been thinner, and I still wish for more custom motions. If your space is limited or looking for a small flashy accent on your wall, then these would look cool. If you have more space, I would go with the bigger sizes.

I just recently got a Nanoleaf 5pc Mini Triangle set and I gotta say, it’s pretty cool. Right off the bat I was impressed with the packaging. I do enjoy a good unboxing. I have my usual complaint of just about everything; the text on the instructions is too small. But I was able to read the name of the app I needed to download and it was pretty easy from there. Assembly of the kit is pretty easy, Id even say intuitive. I had it together and lit up before I even tried to read any directions. We still haven’t decided exactly where we want to mount it. But once we do, that will be simple as well. It comes with some very easy to use mounting sticky pads. It does need a power cord so that has to be a consideration for placement. One little complaint is the plug is huge. That can make it a bit of a pain to plug into certain places. The lights are gorgeous. It’s a beautiful night light. It can be a great accent piece in most any room. And certainly its most fun feature is its ability to “visualize” music by blinking along. The colors are amazing. The app is easy to use and offers a variety of different light options. You can even customize your own look and download other user created light patterns. I have had a few different devices that blinked along to music in my life, even assembling a very basic one in my teens a mere 3 decades ago. But this one is definitely my favorite. The way it uses all 5 lights is very aesthetically pleasing to me. Somewhere between rhythm and random. It’s cool and fun and I love it. It’s a bit pricey in my opinion for just 5 lights, but if that isn’t a hurdle for you I definitely recommend it.

Only gripe I have is the app and setup. Is very cumbersome compared to my hue Setup. Lights are bright and got a deal of black Friday.

These nano leaf shapes are bright and easy to set up via the app (which is great). However, I am not really feeling these. I own the larger triangles and those are great. These are very small and I am not really sure what to do with them. I don't own any other "shapes" and I am not going to add these to my current Nanoleaf triangle mainly because I can't. The connectors are different and I really don't want more wires hanging off my wall for 5 very small triangles. I suppose if you have a bunch of these, or are more creative than I am, you could figure out a good spot for these. I thought about putting them on my PC case, but again, more wires and plugs I don't want. If you are looking into getting some cool display lights for your wall, I would go with the regular sized variation and skip these.

As with all the Nanoleaf products, these are great fun little lights. They were definitely much smaller than I expected, but still worked very well and installed smoothly. Installation was really straight forward. You just click the light panels together with the included connectors, use the provided tape and stick them anywhere you want. I will say Nanoleaf has improved the connectors on the shapes compared to the canvas. They feel much sturdier and are easy to clip into place. After you have theight panels installed, setting them up is as easy as downloading the app and scanning the provided qr code. Using the lights is really easy too, you can either use the app to set colors 9r use the provided control panel with buttons to turn off and on and cycle settings.these lights are really fun to turn to music or have fun colors for a kids party. My only complaint was how little area these actually cover given how small each triangle is. If you like Nanoleaf you'll like these or if youre looking for a fun light toy for the kids this will work too.

This is an awesome product, however it would not stay on the wall. We tried two different rooms, They would not stick to the either wall for more then a few hours. Ended up taking it back for a refund.

I got these at almost 50% off and they're still not really worth it. I guess I just don't get it. I ask you, why? What am I not seeing here ?

Super cool but will not connect to app. I’ve done it all. Every tip and trick I can find online. They work without, but the app would be cool.

Doesn’t work. Tried downloading recommended apps to remotely control it and doesn’t work. Fell of wall easily, waste of money.

Useless product, the glue does not stick to the wall, light is not powerful enough

This is, of course, impacted by the total number of shapes you have. The more shapes the greater the variety possible. - And more. The Nanoleaf Shapes - Mini Triangles Smarter Kit (5pk) is definitely high tech and impressive as such. However, they are not an impulse purchase but rather a choice to make. I found myself more impressed with this product than I expected, but it isn't for everyone. If it's something that interests you - I'm convinced you'll thoroughly enjoy it.

So, these mini shapes are a good starter pack into the Nano leaf system of RGBness. Out of the box, the setup is extremely easy, so much so, my 3 year old got the hang of it after watching me do it once. You should try out multiple different patterns, before you stick it up on your wall, if you are planning to use the 2 sided tapes. They are not easy to take off. The included documentation is really not up to date, and it seems to be talking about some completely different model, so I would just ignore it and download the app. The app is pretty neat, and the setup is easy. Every time you turn it on, it takes about 1 minute to cycle through its startup routine, and after that changing the patterns is easy enough to do in the app. Overall though, I wasn't blown away by it. Its hard to describe, perhaps reading up about these before hand, had hyped them up for me, and didn't really meet the hype. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it, and if you like something like this, I would go for it. I just don't get the Nanoleaf hype.

Spoiler alert... I can sum up this review with two simple words: Love them! Seriously, these have been the most dead simple, easiest to set up smart lighting product I have ever setup and used. Figure out how you want them placed on your wall, hang them, power them up, install the Nanoleaf app, connect the lights to the app, add to Homekit, and you're ready to go. I'm already planning to buy more panels to "fill out" the look of these lights. You can choose a range of colors and brightness for the panels to create a unique "you" look for your space. I love them and can't recommend them enough.

Easy to connect and install, the app works ok and lights have good quality.

Seeing these new nanoleaf lights, I thought they would be similar to the bias lighting you see behind some tvs. They are not what I expected. The app used to control these is very clumsy. Why in the world this thing is 2.4ghz only is a total mystery to me. (No 5ghz?) The way these are put together, attached is sorta cool but at the same time, a wireless option would be so much better. The units all need to link to one another to function. Once linked together they will all operate in sync. There's not much you do with 5 little triangles in this package. For the price I would expect a better and more robust product.

Had the hexagons and loved them so i got these foe a smaller space.

These are, to put it kindly, terrible. Here are the reasons why: 1) HAVE to use 2.4GHz to connect it to wifi and app (Most modern router setups don’t separate out 2.4 and 5 GHz, so you’ll more than likely need to manually do this prior to using these). 2) I did this change to my network, and after connecting the lights to the app, the connection failed over and over. I looked this issue up and seems very common. 3)The limited time I did have these connected to the app, they don’t really do much. Kind of pointless really. Final Verdict: Just buy some LED strip lights or smart bulbs that change color.
