Not much of a racing game. No practice or qualifying for multiplayer.

Lots of fun if you ignore the broken bits

The handling of the cars strikes a great balance between realism, and being fun to drive with a controller. I love that you can actually make the high line work at some tracks, something older NASCAR games have lacked. The game can be a ton of fun. There are lots of minor spit and polish issues with the game though...many of the video clips with real drivers are awkward, the game occasionally freezes, there's not enough music to avoid it getting annoying, and the menu system is tedious (it takes like 10 button presses to exit a race...i just won, no I don't want to restart). The real thing that kinda ruins it is that the collisions between cars are just wrong. If you get hit in the left rear quarter panel your car will hook right (instead of spinning to the left like in real life). The AI cars are on rails, you can slam them and they won't budge, but they'll bounce you around like a pinball when they want to. It's basically impossible to wreck an AI, unless you hit them in a magic spot in the rear bumper that seems to trigger a canned animation of them spinning out. When you can pass cleanly it's a great game, but the moment cars start trading paint...the physics system is an absolute joke.

I love all Nascar Heat games. This game by far is my favorite Nascar Game to play. It is a lot of fun to play. Buy this game. You will be glad you did, but you will get hooked on it easily too.
