It doesn't work as well as I thought it would. However, it does perform fairly well. I don't regret buying it, however knowing what I know now I would not buy another one.

Works for my needs. Easy to use. It makes tax reporting easier.

I originally got the "Neat" scanner, thinking it was just what I needed, but after just one day, I realized it wasn't compatible with some of my companies needs. It is a little larger, physically, than I thought too, and took up a little more desk space than I was happy with. But for those folks that have a scanner need, and this will do the job for you, it's very nice.

Love it, but sometimes it shows a paper jam and nothing is jammed.

You can not loaf very many pictures at a time. The pictures would jam, making the process slow

I regret having purchased this Neat Scanner. I missed the return date by one day or else it would be back at the store. Neat does not have any customer service unless you pay their fees to be a member. I don't like buying something then finding out that it costs $100/year just to use it. I thought I was just buying hardware, but no. It is hardware and software. The software is where they get you.

This scanner made tax time a lot easier. Love the fact you can review and edit receipt descriptions. Doesn't always read the receipt correctly, but easy to correct I'm the review screen. Easy receipt search.

I like this product. I like the OCR technology and the software which is able to populate various fields into the forms or receipt entry data. The mechanism of scan is consistent and I had no trouble viewing scans of old and degraded receipts or invoices, etc. What I do NOT like is that I was not told up front that the ability of the scanner to use OCR technology into their software requires a monthly service fee. I was under the impression that their various monthly fee packages are for their human based scan verify employees checking the OCR tech accuracy, as well as its for cloud storage and tech/cust support beyond the 30 or 60 days. That being said the convenience of using the software and having a compact system that can handle business cards, receipts, or full pages, is very useful. I do have a all in one printer which is connected wirelessly but there is no comparison between scanning many things on the neatdesk to using a printer, which is very slow. You do get a year of service with the neatdesk desktop version, and I probably will just pay the 5.99 super basic plan to sadly use a piece of software which interprets the scan. The OCR isn't perfect and you should verify every single scan. FYI without the minimum 5.99 purchase monthly fee you cannot even enter the data into the forms yourself, the maximum you can do is just scan your doc and save the scan as a file on your computer or in cloud. That is the other thing which I didn't like, is having my data in the cloud. I hate clouds. In the age of hackers and criminals, and just the fact that I'm a fairly private person, I don't want any of my purchases or history of life, financial data, to be on any website. That being said, even though I don't like it, its an annoyance that I will live with so that I can continue to use the hardware. There are more advanced options like scanning from your phone or mobile and using neatverify, but to me just having a decent scanner was my goal, and learning about the software which has the forms and ability to search and categorize , add up totals, taxes, and save things correctly, was an amazing bonus. I didn't know how great the software was until after I used it. You can even send the data to other programs like quicken, I saw.

Plus you have a monthly subscription for a horrible service

I had put off purchasing a Neat Desk for a while. But, my stuff it in the drawer system got old at the end of the year. This makes things so much easier.

When it is too good to be true, it normally is! Bought this printer on sale thinking it was a bargain. However, the quality is terrible so I'm boxing it up to return it. I worked with Neat's customer service and it sounds like there are issues with their software also but that wasn't the problem either. They had me scan with using Paint and same poor quality. I would suggest you spend more money if you want clear copies and not grey backgrounds.

Scanner is great. the new version of the software is slow once the item scans.
