Customers are impressed with the Botvac D7's cleaning performance, navigation, and suction power, frequently praising its ease of use and mapping capabilities. However, some users experienced issues with the brush, Wi-Fi connectivity, and dustbin size, while concerns were also raised regarding the vacuum's long-term reliability and cost. The app received positive feedback for its user-friendliness. Despite some drawbacks, many appreciate the scheduling feature and the overall effectiveness of the dirt pickup.

The vac works great. Neato know has the best technology compared to all the competition. if you are one that likes the straight lines in your carpet after a vacuum then this is perfect. I have a dog and it picks up all the hair. The No Go lines are great to separate rooms, or keep it away from hanging wires. Its very easy to schedule rooms to be cleaned when, and as often as you'd like. I named mine Betty.

I really like this and was excited to try it out. I put it in my finished basement, it hast been vacuumed in awhile, and is where the majority of my kids toys are located... I had them pick up the room, and i let the Neato get to work... it did a very good job on its first pass navigating the room... it got stuck once on a pile of my papers beneath my desk where I work from home, but once I removed those it went fine. It picked up a ton of dust and debris, and the map of my basement it created is very detailed and precise... a couple of things i would like to see it improve... I have tried multiple times to setup the "no-go" lines... within the app it says it has to go through a special cleaning to map out the area in order add those "no go" lines in the app... well I've done that about 5 times already and every time i go back into the app to set up the no go lines it says i have to run that special cleaning... but I've done it several times... oh well.... I'm sure a software update will fix it.... the only other thing i would like Neato to add is the ability to add multiple floor plans with multiple "no go" lines.... for instance... i would like to have this sweep my upstairs, and although the manual says i can just pick it up and start it upstairs, i wish the app had the ability to map both floors, so i could add the no go lines to each floor. Other than that, great product.

This is a great product overall. I did have some with the device charging and connecting to WiFi, but Neato customer service was amazing and helped me fix the issues. Once it was up and running, I could see the robot had some very smart software. When it vacuums a room, it goes in a clear, concise pattern instead of just going all over the place. It also created a map of the floor we ran it on after just the first use. It also only runs when it's vacuuming - when it returns to the doc, it turns the vacuum cleaner off. It also found the dock very quickly. Finally, it picked up a ton of dirt on the first run and it was easy to empty. I highly recommend this product.

This is a 2.5 stars item well because yes it does clean and vacuums carpets very well but unfortunately the setup and floor plans are very difficult to setup, the app and the vacuum itself needs always input from someone, also the fact that if you want to clean 2 different areas in your house you will need to buy an extra charging station (for an 800 dollars vacuum) so if you are planning to have the vacuum for only on room yes it definitely works for that, but if you want to clean the living room, the bethrooms and maybe another carpeted room you will need to buy 3 or 4 extra charging stations one for each room (around 40 dollars each, do the math) I have the intention to setup different rooms for different days of the week but i cant, so if i want to vacuum the living room it will do the whole house and it might not finished before returning to the charge station. The app its also complicated there 3 modes "house, spot and manual" the house mode does not do anything just tells you how the vacuum its setup for the next cleaning, the spot ask you how big the spot area to clean is but you will have to carry the vacuum to the spot first so it kind of defeats the purpose of being self-powered, the manual you drive the vacuum with your phone like an RC toy so nothing exiting about that. Now if for some reason the vacuum starts its schedule cleaning and you want to cancel it you cant, you can stop it but you will have to manually carrie the robot where it stopped or drive it back to the charging station, there is a dock option once it starts but its always disable, once you pressed it tell you that the vacuum its locating itself and it will be able to dock back in a few minutes, but the button never gets enable so good luck trying to get it back to the base. Now the vacuums itself its great it does clean and vacuum carpets with easy, yes its a bit louder that other brands but i will think its because it has more suction power. Don't get me wrong the engineering for this item its amazing, the fact that it cleans carpets on its own its great, it beats any other manual vacuums but for the price tag i was expecting a vacuum a bit more "intelligent" and also and app that can be a bit more user friendly the fact that i can't have different floor plans without extra accessories it makes it a half way the vacuum. For the fact that there are many other choices in the market i would not recommend this vacuum to someone else unless they have and extra 800 dollars just for fun.

If you are wanting greatness, and don't want to work. Get this one. It's gonna help you out a lot, and will keep your house somewhat clean without issues. Only thing that is not so great, is the price. It's a little high. But this is the age of tech, and this is something that comes with it. A higher price tag at times.

    One SMART Powerful Robotic Vac!

I got this Neato D7 Robotic vacuum cleaner and ran it through its paces. Well this is what I found out. On pulling it out its solid and a bit heavy showing it’s well-built. Big power wheels with a rubber tread grips it well over most any surface. It’s one powerful vacuum cleaner for sure and the waste bin pops off and on with ease. But by far the best feature is that it’s smart, really one smart robot cleaning machine! You’ll need Wi-Fi to get the most out of it and download the App. Name your Smart Bot a name and let it do its thing. It will take a while to map out your area but once it does your set. While you can use Magnet Strips like previous versions and other robot Vacs, this D7 is smart, really smart and does away with them if you so wish! Download the App and after it’s mapped out your cleaning area, just pull up the app, its mapped area of your home, zoom in the areas if you need to and draw No-Go lines on the area via its app and it won’t go there! No more worries of it eating power cords under desks, or other areas that you simply don’t want it to be at. This robot and its App is loaded with features, the more I play with it the more I learn and love it. I have carpet, an area rug and hard floors. The D7 runs thru all of them with ease. Because its flat at the front, the roller sits right up there and gets up close for better cleaning than the round robot cleaners! It stands about 3 ½” so it may not fit under all couches but a few small rubber furniture pads at the home improvement store fixed this quickly and easy. Best part of the Neato D7, other than its powerful, wicked SMART and well-built is that it’s very neat looking, ok GREAT looking in its brushed metal skin! Yes it may come across pricey but I thought the same of my Dyson V6 and compared to other robotic vac’s, it’s competitively priced with more features. I’m thrilled with my choice and my stick broom now see’s little use!

I have a dog that sheds an insane amount and a large house to vacuum. I could not keep up with the dog hair. This is the first Robot Vac I have ever purchased. After tons of research I narrowed it down to the Neato D7 and the roomba 7+. I saw the D7 on sale so I thought I would give it a try. In the short 24 hour time period that I have owned the Neato it has been life changing for my family. I can’t stress enough how much my dog sheds and this picks up all the hair. We are used to vacuuming almost every day. Now the Neato can do it all. The mapping is amazing. The pickup is amazing. It leaves clean straight lines in the carpet. Again, I have never used a robot vac before so maybe this is the norm. The only negative - it is able to map multi-levels ONLY if you have a second base unit. The base units are less than 40. I didn’t see them at Best Buy but bed bath beyond Has them. I just manually started the vac for my 2nd floor but I may just buy another base so I can set up a floor plan with no go lines on the second floor. I love this vac!

After looking to get our first vacuum robot last year and going over reviews, nothing seemed just right, but the D7 feature set was mentioned in a few reviews. So I signed up to be notified when it would be released, and I ordered it the day I got notified. After a week with it, I am now ordering my second one for our second floor. We have concrete floors and rugs, and the D7 does a great job cleaning. We have 5 birds and 2 dogs, so plenty of cleaning needed. When I first got it I vacuumed first with my regular vacuum and then let the D7 loose. I was amazed at how much dust and dirt and hair it managed to pick up even after I "cleaned". Now, I have it going once a night and my floors always are clean (and feel clean on bare feet). I just ordered my second one for our second floor (all carpet) where the birds live, after trying it out and seeing how well it picked dirt and debris there, too. The mapping feature is amazing, and I had read that other robot vacuums seem to have problems with black or dark floors or carpets. We have both dark concrete and black carpet, and it has no problems with it. It also properly recognized the stairs and didn't fall down. Haven't even had a need to use the no-go line feature yet. I would definitely recommend it.

Roomba is junk compared to Neato

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

We have a Neato but upgraded and bought a Roomba i7. I ran the i7 one time and returned it the next day. There was hardly any suction and it seemed to only collect surface debris and nothing embedded in the carpet. Bought the D7 neato set it up and ran it. Keep in mind it wasn’t even 24 hours since the roomba ran the whole house. The Neato’s bin was completely FULL of dust and debris you would expect a vacuum of this caliber to pick up. Once again Neato did not disappoint. I think Roomba has good reviews only because of their name and no one is the wiser because it’s the only robot vac they have ever had. Don’t buy Roomba, or any other, go with the Neato.

This truly feels like a "smart" vacuum loaded with features. I believe this Neato D7 is the next evolution of robot vacuums. Pros: - Unique design - low profile with wide brush, perfect for getting in corners and along walls. - Intelligent navigation - maps out your floor plan, you can mark "no-go zones" on the app, you can also use your phone app to steer the vacuum - Versatile cleaning ability - works well on tile, wood, carpet, and laminate - Solid battery life - I can get about 2 hours of cleaning on a single charge - Multi band WiFi connection - works on 2.4 Ghz and 5.0 GHz - Works with Amazon Alexa, IFTTT, Google Home, Neato Chatbot for Facebook Cons: - Using the app is a crucial part of the user experience, without it you wont be able to realize its full potential - Dirt bin is kind of smaller compared to other robot vacuums. - Premium price tag - Louder than other robot vacuums

Great for big houses with shedding pets

We bought this after moving into a 2800 sq ft house with 3 shedding pets and realizing that we can not keep it clean every day. This thing runs for about 2 hours with no problem. We were able to map it for the first floor and second floor. It has freaking lasers so that's cool. We schedule it to run at night and it has had no problem. The only issue we find is that we have to empty the bin once it finishes. But that's because of all the hair. Compared to the rumba I feel it is way more efficient and cheaper.

Excellent replacement for a Roomba 980

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I would actually rate the bot 4.5 if Best Buy allowed 1/2 stars. I've had a Roomba 980 for about 7 months. It had to be replaced twice for hardware issues. II'll save the details of my Roomba 980 wows another review. Anyway, this little guy is not the sexiest bot in the world, but it's a lot sturdier than the Roomba. Here are my top 5 pros/cons: PROS: 1. Botvac D7 is well built. Not prone to scratches and nics like other vacs. 2. Since it has a brush roller like a traditional vacuum it picks up more dirt and debris from rugs. 3. WIth the laser sight navigation it bumps into things a lot less. 4. Beccause it moves slower when it does bump into things the impact is not quite as harsh. 5. The bot is smart enough to turn off the brush and vacuum if it is trying to get out of an area it has already cleaned or if it is returning back to the base for recharge. Bonus: WIth the brush being in the front versus the middle of the bot it doesn't have to scrape against my baseboards to edge cleaning. SO no more black marks along my baseboards! CONS 1. It is a bit louder than I hoped for, but not unbearable. It is quieter than Roomba 980 2. You have to get a first cleaning run to map the house before you can setup no-go lines in the app. That can be a challenge, so you may have to put down the mag strips or move things out of the way. 3. The D shape is great for corners, but it is little more prone to getting stuck in tight places. 4. The navigation is not quite as intelligent as a Roomba 980. 5. I'm sure this is a con since ALL of the robot vacs I've had suffer from this issue, but it will tackle furniture with very dark or black base. BONUS: Did I mention this not the best looking bot? Thank god it's smart and a hrd worker.

This is my second robotic vacuum. The first one did well, but missed some simple tasks when it made it's way around the house. It kept bumping into our cats water and food dish which made for a mess. The Neato features no-go zones and has repeatedly avoided our cat's dishes on every cleaning. You have to run the vacuum to map your rooms before you can optimize the pattern via the app. The Neato app made creating the no-go zones easy so you should take the time to download it and use it. It was very intuitive to use. The last robot vacuum we owned was very loud. The Neato is much quieter and doesn't have such a piercing sound when it is running. I also like the "D" shape to the device. It can get in corners where our last unit couldn't. Robot vacuums are here to stay. Neato has created a superior cleaning device.

Robot runs an average of over once a day, 365. He works by app or through google home, which is nice to use for pausing and resuming due to important phone calls or conversations if his work brings him in your vicinity at such times. His cleaning area is @2k square feet of house, each day, plus additional spot cleaning here and there. We have two indoor dogs and a cat, but you wouldn't know it if you did a white glove inspection of our floors - all thanks to our Neato Robot. Get the extended warranty if you will be using him as much as we do and Best Buy will 'no questions asked' swap him out at anytime if he gets sick. One last thing, you will need to adapt to his needs. He is prone to choking hazards such as stray socks and lose phone cords; and you may be able to provide subtle lifts to certain furniture to give him smoother access under couches and such. I suggest stacking a few of those felt pads under the legs of any furniture that might be a tight squeeze.

This is our 2nd Neato Botvac. They have both worked better than I had expected but it seems like every 2ish years they have an update and the botvac craps out so you'll have to replace it. I'm not only saying this due to my experiences alone. Many other friends of our that have them had the same issues. We may try another brand this time around and see how long they last.

Overall ran fine, however does get stuck on/under stuff sometimes. Doesn’t go over area rugs very well. However my low rating in mostly due to the longevity. RIGHT before the warranty expired, I started having an issue where the vacuum would move about a foot off of the charging base, attempt to start up about three times, say “I’m having issues,” and be unable to run. I sent it in to the manufacturer, who I received zero communication from but did fix the issue and send it back. Now, a year later, I’m having the same exact issue and the product is no longer under warranty. They never even told me what was wrong with it the first time or what they did to fix it. At this point I will just be replacing. Works well but not worth the price point since it doesn’t really last.

Never thought I needed or wanted a robot vacuum. But with a new baby and 2 kids, no time to clean the floors. At first, I tried to set up using my iPad. It did not work. I was getting frustrated and about to return it back to Best Buy. Then I tried using my Pixel phone to setup. It was fast and simple. Any troubles setting up WiFi, just try another device. My kids love it. Robot goes around and it hit every spot in the house. Mapping is straight forward. App is easy to use. I bring the robot upstairs and just push the start switch. Best thing and my main reason I bought D7 is 5 GHz WiFi.

Recently I purchase the Neato D7 connect vacuum cleaner from Best Buy‘s. This device is better than sliced bread or the invention of the wheel. I like the ability of giving verbal commands to start cleaning, stop cleaning, return to dock just to mention a few. I also like the new feature that allows me to use the same vacuum cleaner on multiple floors by simply adding one additional charging station. Getting the job done for a lot less money than purchasing a new unit. Great product that hasn’t let me down yet. I encourage everyone to rush out and buy this unit unit.
