Need for speed series have has went downhill since rivals, I could stand undercover, but criterion brought it back to speed, only problem was crterion didnt have customization which is the only thing black box developers are good at. Gameplay wise, the story sucks, racing is average. They tried to capture the magic with a need for speed rivals spiritual successor but failed with an average product with no life. Driving is ok, this a late review, by now you should been playing nts heat by now which is the best project black box has made but not excellent. By now you should have heard that criterion is taking back over the franchise. All they need is a return to story mode, car customization like black box and gameplay like underground, most wanted, Hot pursuit and rivals and bam you have a good product like the glory days. This game not gonna cut it.

Its not the worst entry, however its obvious that the game was built to please the publisher and satisfy their vision of the series instead of the players. When you first see the open world it appears to be filled with a lot of activities to do. However, the deceptive nature of this becomes apparent as you progress. Pretty much all the story sections are quite dull due to bad writing and the game has too much grinding. The free roaming areas lack random diversion like police roaming around to avoid or a running into a random pack of cars to take out. In the end, the remaining side activities like challenge races while a little enjoyable are not sufficient to keep you coming back. Having to go through unfun bits in hopes for some fun is simply not acceptable. Also, a lot of the cool customization options which used be given as rewards can now simply be purchased by anyone through microtransactions which makes you feel less like you're unique or skilled and that's also not a good thing.

I bought this game for my sons birthday. He loves racing games and this became one of his favorites.

Fun game. Nothing ground breaking but enjoyable. This game was a good purchase for the price.

Need For Speed: Payback is far from the Burnout style crashes we were shown at E3, leaving the game with only a nice looking open world, and a truckload of flaws like the go-buy-loot crates grinding system, an appalling storyline, and heavily scripted races. Go ahead on a sale.

Overall good game. Limited on the things you can do online though which is why I bought it

I thought this game was going to be like Hot Pursuit version. I was wrong. Gráficos are great tho.

It has your normal missions you're used to in Need For Speed games but also has kind of like a treasure hunt aspect for hidden cars.

Bought this for my teenage daughter because she wanted a racing game. This game turned into one of her favorites.

Good sounds and customization, but no multiplayer free roam at launch and no free roam cops

It has good graphics, Its a little bit arcade and I guess it needed a best story mode.

This is a great product, I will recommend it to all my associates and friends.

The game itself is good but never like the original Need For Speed
