Disappointing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This N4S like most of the recent titles is not worth the investment of $59.99. I enjoyed many of the N4s games for years, be recent the plots and driving dynamics as well as graphics have just been lacking to keep up with other games of its type.

Not the best nfs
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is definitely not my favorite NFS edition. The characters in the game, the female in particular, are very off-putting and annoying. It can be a bit glitchy.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you love the games in the series, you'll probably like this one. I've tried a few of them now, and just can't seem to find a reason to want to keep playing.

Driving games aren't really my thing.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I guess when I bought this game I was hoping that it would be more like a Burnout game. But sadly it is not. If you like driving games then I think this will be right up your alley.

Beautiful racing game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Went ahead and picked up the new Need for Speed game along with the PS4 with the launch last night and so far it's been the only game I've played on the system. I haven't played any games in the series in years but I'm glad that I decided to nab it. Here's a quick break down of the pros and cons to me (subjective and may be seen differently by others): Pros: The visuals in the game are beautiful. Crisp, clear, and incredibly realistic visuals make it so easy to sit and play for hours. The ability to choose between the Cops and the Racers. Cops have to unlock cars by completing missions and the Racers have to purchase them by using points earned for doing practically everything. Fun mulitplayer features. Not sure what the first reviewer was talking about, but you can certainly race with or against your friends as well as others. Last I was on, I was one of 2 Cops with 4 Racers on the map. You can choose to keep doing missions or go after other players. Weapons: Haven't unlocked many so far, but the ability to use spike strips, EMPs, Sonic Pulse fields, and other tools adds a pretty cool element to the game. Have to be wary of what might be set up in the road by other players at any time. Cons: The game can get repetitive. A lot of the missions stay the same and just have you trying for faster completion times. You get rewards, but a bit more diversity could be good. The maps. The entire racing area is pretty massive which can make trying to find other players, or at least catching up to them, pretty time-consuming. Luckily, the environments are pretty diversive and great to look at. There are also lots of Command Centers and Repair Shops around. The story: I wouldn't really call it a story here. There's definitely a bit of narration, that you can't skip through, which could pretty much be ignored. Really wish that more thought had gone into trying to make a decent plot. Overall, Need for Speed: Rivals is a pretty decent game. Not the best that I've played, but I'll definitely keep on playing it.

Hard to get into
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not much of a gamer so I figured a racing game would be good for me. I don't like having to free drive to find races. I miss the old video game style of starting a race from a menu, then going on to the next one. I couldn't get into this one and wish I could return it.

I used to love Need for Speed...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Some games do not improve with the addition of multi player, this game encapsulates everything that makes multi player games stink. I wouldn't recommend this game to enemy, much less a friend.

Worst game ever
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game was really bad. There are not a lot of things to do. You can't race with friends without require an ea account and PlayStation plus membership.

Not a real "racing" game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Played for less than 5 min. Traded it in. No option to change controls or view. I may have been more inclined to play it with these options.

Great racing game with exceptional graphics
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Things that I like about it: This is a great game with many hours of fun to be had. I haven't played any other game as I'm trying to finish the missions. The game play is very smooth, and extremely detailed. I was expecting this out of the ps4, but I'm still happy to actually see it. Don't be afraid of my things I don't like section. I love the game, but had to explain things in detail, so I could save others the headache I went through on it. The selection of cars is nice, and the details on them are fantastic. Things I don't care for: Cops are a bit OP in the game in that they have a swarm of them after you get more heat on you. There are too many of them in general, so you can't roam as freely in the game. I haven't looked it up, but it would be nice if you could disable cops. The last mission on the game is incredibly difficult which is nice, but I believe there will be a fair number of players that can't do it. I've had a few instances of choppiness while playing multiplayer on a public game. I don't know if it is the player with a slow connection or the server. It is fairly infrequent, so we'll see how that goes. They should open up all of the mission options from the beginning. Just to help those that haven't played....You get to go down 3 different paths while playing missions, and you can do any path at any level. You can do a race, pursuit, or driver oriented objective. Race objectives are just like they sound. You have to complete race events, head to head, and other objectives. Pursuit is related to racing with cops, and running into them in various ways. Driving ones is about drifting, jumping, and winning races as well. You can only do one objective per level until you complete the very last one. Grinding for speed points in the game is fairly long and tedious when you're not doing a mission. Missions are a much more effective way of getting speed points, but you're locked out of that option when you are doing the last race. I wish I would've known this before getting to the end. You can get around this by flipping between objectives BEFORE completing all of them. You reset them when doing this. The last objective requires that you race against 5 other racers, and cops pursue you. That by itself is okay....the hard part is you must drive 28.1 miles without wrecking out. As the race progresses, the cops are more aggressive, so you take much more damage. Of course the other racers can do damage as well. There is a gap of ~6.2 miles with 7.2 miles to go in the race where there are NO repair shops on the race path. The cops at that point are completely out of their mind, and there are usually 3-4 of them ganging up on you at that point. Luckily there is a repair shop at the 1 mile marker before the end or I would've been dead. Either way, I think there will be a few broken controllers because of that span of the race. Can you tell I was a bit annoyed? :) I did finish the race, but it was a major pain.
