The effect of racing at a high rate of speed and the cars are definitely a plus in this game. Although more effort could have been put into this game.

I'll try not to drag this out BUT.... Alot of hype about this game recently. HYPE, they spent more time on thier in game movies then they did on the game play. I was waiting for this title for at least 8 months and I bought it within mins. of Best Buy getting it. However I am actually dissapointed with it. EA took a little vacation when they came out with NFS ProStreet and decided to put the underground street racing on hold. I think in the time off they also forgot what it meant to make an action racing game. For those of you that know and love the NFS franchise like I do, they still have liscensed cars and they have decent cop chases still. However this review is for PS3 so the standard has been set so much higher since need for speed's last GOOD title (Most Wanted). Along with the bar being raised comes the fact that almost every PS3 is hooked up to the internet. With that said lets touch up on the cons. Notably first off is the Load Screens. Load screens are so PS2. I forgot what one looked like until I realized I was staring at the words "please wait" for about 2 mins. The next thing that is unacceptable for a Next Gen $500 console is games sticking and jumping. The game plays choppy for no appearent reason. You know, everything pauses for a second of two and the sound gets all screwey. Next is the difficulty, Previous reviews werent lying when they said you can use the first car you get (unmodified mind you) and beat cars like the Aston Martin and the Camaro Concept with ease. Next issue is the HUGE OPEN WORLD. Yeah well for such a big world, why are you confined to such a small area. It can be better used. Remember customizied mirrors, doors, hoods, WINDOW TINTS, Rim colors, NEON, nitrous purge, hydrolics, and lowering kits? Well hang on to those memories cause you can only customize rims, full body kits a couple wings and exhausts. And if you put vinyl on your car it comes off when you go online.... to "improve gameplay". And last but recently more important to me is a good online mode. Circuits, Sprints and "cops and robbers" is all the game has to offer online and they can do soooo much more with that (see Midnight club and Burnout Paradise). The things that I mentioned are the types of things that an experienced Need for speeder would be looking for. If your new to the franchise then yeah give it a try. You wont have to worry about being dissapointed. Then go and buy Need for speed Most wanted, you'll be amazed. Look, get the game BUT not for $60. Let the price drop to $40 or $30. You'll hate yourself less for it then. Maybe next time EA.

    Good game

this game has great graphics and cars but they did leave out a lot of cars like Honda and Ferrari. The police chases are good but the police cars are to fast I was going 230 MPH and a Chevy Tahoe and a Porsche caught up to me. When you hit a jump they show a good angle but go back to the normal view right before you land so you don't get to see the landing.

    Great Racing Game

This Game, is really going to be a legend on all the Need For Speed series. Overall, this game is beautiful, graphics, sounds, really really detailed., the game is almost like Most Wanted, but way better, everything you wanted to see NFSMW, you have it on UNDERCOVER, from more cars (around 60 or even more) to customize your perfect car. Graphics: This is the most you will see on the game, EA really made a great job while doing this, graphic are just amazing, very realistic, the MAP is HUGE the open world this game gives you is amazing, you feel like you are been racing and racing during a long period and when you see your Map the distance is little, while having cops chasing you and racing on the freeway on highspeed, that's fun. Controls: other than using L2 and R2 instead of O & X, is way better, the car moves very realistic to the feel you are really controlling the car not a game, the break and time breakers are awesome. Sound: if you are using HDMI cable, you'll know what i mean, the sound is perfect, but almost not all the music on the game is, sometimes the music makes you feel and think you are playing a game for 2 Fast 2 Furious, like Miami, but other than that while the police is chasing you, the music is fun and the sound is perfect. Cars: The game has many many cars, from an old and powerful muscle car like the Mustang, to luxurious, exotic and smooth car control with a Bugatti Veyron, without forgetting the drift cars from Japan, Mit. EVO. the game have a lots of options to customize your ride, but what's not good is that the Vinyls are not compatibles to use online, we dont need them anyways, vinyls are not good, but still. The Cons: Ok, my cons will be the music, they needed to put more music or something like NFSMW music with Avenged Sevenfold or stuff almost like that, dont get me wrong tracks are good, but on MW you have the option to choose what tracks you like and what tracks you dont. GPS, you cant control this, i don't know so far but from what i tried, you cant control the GPS, i'm the type of player who choose a point and then get there instead of just push a bottom and you'll be there already, that's wasting time, but some people like to go under the world more deeply to see how everything was made (Graphics) and another thing, i barely start the game and played for 2 hours and complete like 39% of the game, i'm not sure is it's short and i'm just too good, because if you have NSFMW experience, this game will be almost easy (in some way), but it's pretty cool. I will really recommend this game, worth every penny, cant wait to hear from EA for the 2nd one, even though i still need to finish this one, but this game is fun. go to nearest Best Buy and BUY IT!!

Bottom line, this game is worth every penny. The graphics and sound are insane. The cars handle more realistically then ever before. Tons of awesome rides to chose from and to top it off, a great story line.

This would be for all the NFS Undercover h8trs. The game is amazing. I just bought a PS3 and this is my first game, the cut scenes are sick. The driving physics alone put it light years ahead of Most Wanted, Carbon, and Prostreet. I look forward to playing this game through several times. I thouroughly enjoy what BlackBox did with the game and hope they do some more NFS in the furture like this one. BTW 370Z opening scene made me mess my pants. 370Z rulz.

the game is really fun at first like how you lose cops and race, but that's all you do. it get old and boring after a while. i lean more toward not to buy and not to rent unless there's not a better game to play

I have been a huge fan of the NFS series for a long time. ProStreet was terrible in my opinion since it confines you to tracks all of the time. It is nice to get back on the open road, and be able to drive where you want to. I think they could have used the capabilities of the PS3 a little better, as the graphics are a little lacking. There is a lot of variety in the types of cars to choose from. I'll be waiting for the next installment. Hopefully they will keep improving and start heading back towards Underground 2 and Most Wanted.

Undercover is alright, but at least for me it gets boring really fast. It has a great selection of cars to pick from and the graphics are great as well. It also stars Maggie Q and Christina Milian.

Is this NFS or is this Test Drive Unlimited??....

I'm not sure if anyone has noticed this or not, but I would bet $100 bucks this game is built on the same game engine as Test Drive unlimited.. if you've played that game and then play this one.. the only difference is cops chase you.... uhhh yeah.... so they obviously didnt put too much effort into this one, filled it full of cutscenes with cheesy acting and stamped NFS title on it... I hope EA goes bankrupt and someone else makes games the way they should be made. This game makes my cat fluffles make a sad face :(

Two reviewer rated this horrorous thing a 5. Take a look at the date. The game did not release tell the 18th. This game has no difficulty to speak of. Is like a chess master playing someone that has never played chess. For a next gen game NFS Underground looked so much better. A cheap nissan not the 350z but the cheaper one is passing a Lambo with ease. There is absolute no need what so ever to upgrade your car because the game is so easy.If you think not upgrade could make it harder think again its still easy. Customizing is a joke. What's the point if you can't show it off online? BestBuy need to take this horrible game for the shelf and send this junk back to EA. I don't know how they are still in business with games like this. I have not seen a good NFS game in years. Don't waste your time by buying this. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME
