Posted .Hey there, NoelleL. We hear your concerns regarding Nest Hub (2nd Gen) not picking up your voice as often as you’d like. You can control how sensitive Google Assistant is to voice commands — here’s how:
1. Open the Google Home app.
2. At the bottom, tap Home.
3. Touch and hold your speaker or Smart Display.
4. At the top right, tap Device settings, Audio, and then “Hey Google” sensitivity.
5. Choose how sensitive you want Google Assistant to be when it responds to you.

Posted .Hi Jpnst315, thanks for reaching out. We're sorry to hear that you are having some difficulty with getting responses when giving voice commands on Nest Hub (2nd Gen).
Adjusting your Nest Hub's mic sensitivity and retraining it to better recognize your voice can be helpful with the issue. Check out the steps below:
Retrain Voice Match:
- On your phone or tablet, open the Google Home app.
- At the top right, tap your Profile picture or initial and then Assistant settings and then Voice Match.
- Tap Teach your Assistant your voice again and then Retrain.
We also recommend changing Nest Hub's hotword sensitivity:
- Open your Google Home app.
- Select your Nest Hub.
- At the top right, tap the Settings (Gear) icon.
- Then tap Audio.
- Then tap "Hey Google" sensitivity and adjust the slider to make your NestHub more responsive to the hotword.

After some initial configuration hassles, it works very well. Furthermore, I love that it has a function to display pictures while not in use.

Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great at first but noticed after a year or so, Google would randomly listen in on my family conversations and try to search what we were talking about (it still does, plus durning these listen in's, we never once said its name like "Google" or "Hey Google"). I swear am not a conspiracies but it does freak me out and maybe its just a glitch in its system. I dont know. So now, when we do need it; we have to unmute it with the manual mute button on its back. Since we use the button often, I feel like it defeats the purpose of having the Google Hub because if I need something I have to walk across a room or rooms to unmute it and then remute it, so it doesn't keep trying to search random parts of our conversations. So I hope its just my system and not all of the Google Hubs because I have always favor Google items till this incident...

Soft lights and soothing sounds

Rain sounds for white noise is surprisingly nice. The soft light to show the time is great. It does not Bother my eyes at all early in the morning.
