Posted .Hey there, AMcC. We appreciate the feedback you shared. We’re sorry to hear that your experience with the performance of your Nest Hub (2nd gen) is below your expectations. Restarting your Nest display can improve its performance. Also, a range issue or wireless interference can affect the performance of your display. Sometimes it can pass the connection test during setup, but will struggle to stay connected if it’s just a bit too far away from your router. If you're experiencing a spotty connection or weak signal, we recommend checking your Wi-Fi network to see if your bandwidth is congested, which happens if you have too many devices connected on the same bandwidth or if your network package is not enough to handle the data traffic on the network. Removing other connected devices to your Wi-Fi may relieve network congestion. If your display is located too far from your Wi-Fi router, you may need to extend your Wi-Fi network’s range using boosters or additional Wi-Fi access points.

Same but with sleep tracking

I never tried the Show 8 but my issues with that product wouldn’t be fixed with that model. The Nest Hub handles showcasing pictures much better, mainly with portrait pictures. It splits the screen and uses two portrait pictures instead of filling with a blurred background with one picture. It also was way better for playing Spotify. Not only did it have a better interface to select playlists, the Echo Show kept crashing Spotify mid-song.

Some video apps require you to link the app account (streaming apps) to your Google Account, and these simple steps may help:
- Make sure the mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi or linked to the same account as the speaker or display.
- Open the Google Home app .
- At the top right, tap the account (the icon with your initial or profile picture).
- Verify that the Google Account on screen is the one linked to the speaker or display. To switch accounts, tap the dropdown arrow and then choose another account or Add another account .
- Go back to the home screen. At the top left, tap Add and then Video.
- Choose a video streaming service and tap Link and then Link Account.
