The only thing i don't like is there's not much explanation on how to use it. There's the setup process but then that's it. I have to go to YouTube to find out how to do something. The only other thing is the screen is a bit slow. People have gotten used to the quickness of cell phones and stuff. This has a small delay after you swipe. But it's still a great product and works exactly how i need it to. I use it to show me who's at the door when someone rings the doorbell and that's nice. Now i don't have to run downstairs with a bat every time.

You can play music at a great quality and it can integrate with any other Nest cameras or other devices in the home. It can also function as a digital photo frame using your own uploaded photos for your enjoyment. Highly recommend!

Sounds like a software bug that makes your device completely unusable. I contacted them and they are aware of the problem and are “unable” to do anything about it, however , they continue to sell them knowing they have this issue. Sounds like the issue affects the google home nest hub first and second gen . For now second gen is covered, you just have to hope its not past the one year warranty.

It gets two stars because it meets the bare basic minimum requirements that I had. As a twitch streamer (md278x) it’s important I get my rest and wake up for my streams. My requirements were: 1. Show me the time 2. Show me the weather It does that. However, hardly any useful customization. It HAS to be in a particular setting to show me the time and weather. If I add a picture, the information is too small to read. What is the point of that? You essentially have to do all of the settings on the device. WHY?! It is just out of arms reach for my use case and it takes a great deal of effort to set the alarms and so on. Yes you can use voice commands (I haven’t tried to be honest but I shouldn’t have to) but what about if you’re away and you want to set an alarm for something that just came up? Don’t even bother trying to change the tones. This is what actually prompted this review by the way. Twice now, as I was scrolling through the different alarms looking for a heavy hitter, the thing just times out (while trying to play sample sound) and goes back to the home screen. What the heck! Just simple stuff like that is very frustrating.

For changing the alarm sounds, we suggest resetting Nest Hub (2nd Gen). This may be helpful to refresh the system and will improve the overall performance of your device. Doing a factory reset will erase all data and you may need to set it up again. To reset Nest Hub (2nd Gen), press and hold both volume buttons together at the back for about 10 seconds. Your Nest Hub will let you know that it's resetting.

Really prefer having most of my smart home devices synced with Google and this hub makes it so much more easier (especially visually) to manage all my devices.

I had thought it to be a sort of Google assistant, like my previous assistant speakers I guess, no, much to my surprise, it doesn't understand anything I say to it or ask it, it just wants to look everything up on the web and give me random and what seems to be deliberately irrelevant search results.
