However, It can be a cool digital photo frame and music speaker. Also, it is perfect if you have a smart home or making yours a smart one. The display will dim low enough or turn off if you wanted in your bedroom, and there's no camera, so that's a plus if you worry about privacy.

Works amazing and with moving into a bigger house we needed a new Google home anyway. So this makes a big difference because we have it in the kitchen so we can watch recipes or videos helping out with that.

Upgraded to this from a Google Home mini, and I don't regret it. Having the screen is really useful for quickly seeing the time/temp outside, and also being able to have it show photos from Google Photos. My one complaint is that even the gray-colored model does not have a gray front bezel to match.

Nest hub 7-second gen

The advanced commands like morning or night routines is surprisingly convenient and makes starting the day on those rough to wake up mornings a little easier. The hand gestures though almost never work and the response time to everything is a little slow. Since my nightstand isn’t perfectly sized and located it probably needs a separately sold stand since it isn’t adjustable at all. If your nightstand isn’t below your bed (since it only can angle up), I would consider the stand they sell.

Nest Hub, 2nd Gen. - An Easy Expansion

The new 2nd generation Nest Hub installed & linked-up very easy to the existing Google network. I have not been able to identify what improvements exists from the 1st to the 2nd generation, but it may exist on features I am not using!

Instead of learning multiple voices you link your google account and it syncs with your account. And when setting reminders it knows who is setting what without having to do the whole “Alexa learn my voice” routine.

We had been using a Google mini that we got for free from Google but it was glitchy. But then I saw this in the store and it was only $10 more than the Echo Dot (on sale). The display picture with Spotify, weather and timer was what sold me. Unfortunately I haven't been able to duplicate that display yet. Nevertheless, I like that it has a slim profile, the clock display and that I can watch YouTube from it. I also like that I can heart songs that I like on Spotify to add them to my 'liked' songs playlist. For the sale price, I think it's definitely worth it. I'd probably be less likely to buy it if it were the regular price.

Your Google Nest display screen shows a wealth of information like notifications, weather forecast, activities, and alarms. For most actions, you can control the screen with your hands or your voice. The available pages (Your morning, your afternoon, or your evening) can show you your schedule, the weather and more. The title and content of the page changes depending on the time of day. To open the page's Navigation menu, tap the display screen when it shows photos or when it’s in Ambient mode.

Absolutely Perfect

It sits on my desk upstairs where I can easily use it to get a live view of all three of our Google Nest Cameras. I use it to see the weather forecast. I use it to turn on my smart-plug appliances (e.g. television, lamp). Be aware, it does not have a camera, which is my preference, but it may not be that of others.
