The Hub to get you started
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this Hub for my parents to set up all their smart home tech. This thing is amazing and is literally the hub. Once you get other devices, controlling them via the hub is so easy and futuristic. I then got one for myself. This is the first thing you need to get your smart home started. Also, you can listen to music on it, watch YouTube, etc.

A Must-Have Smart Home Companion
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Nest Hub 7” Smart Display (2nd Gen) is an absolute game-changer for anyone looking to enhance their smart home experience. The compact design fits perfectly in any room, and the clear, vibrant display is perfect for checking the weather, viewing photos, or controlling other smart devices. The 7-inch screen is just the right size for both functionality and convenience, without being too large or too small. The integration with Google Assistant is seamless and super responsive. Whether you’re asking for the latest news, controlling lights, or playing music, the Nest Hub responds quickly and accurately. The voice recognition is on point, and it works perfectly from across the room—even with background noise. The built-in speaker offers surprisingly good sound for such a small device, perfect for music, podcasts, or video calls. I also love the Ambient EQ feature, which adjusts the screen brightness to match the lighting in the room, making it perfect for use as a bedside clock or as an extra screen for smart home control. Setting up the Nest Hub is incredibly easy, and it syncs perfectly with other Google devices, making it an essential addition to any Google-powered smart home. Overall, the Nest Hub 7” is an outstanding smart display that offers great value for its price. It’s a must-have for anyone looking to make their home smarter, more efficient, and more enjoyable. Highly recommended!

Great smart home
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have three of these now, they're awesome. The sound is good (what i would expect for the price), very easy to set up and helps keep tabs on everything we need to. My only complaint would be that it disconnects from internet from time to time, but all three do that and it could very well just be my internet provider which is why im not taking off a star. The only other thing to be aware of is the motion sensing is very sensitive on default- one is behind the couch and if music is playing and someone tosses something onto the couch it will pause the music- took a bit to figure out what was happening lol so just something to keep in mind if you sort your laundry in your living room etc

Very responsive. Surprisingly nice to have around.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I never thought I would want one of these but I like tech so I checked it out. This is honestly more useful than I originally gave it credit for. If you have Google powered smart devices and a Google ecosystem you will probably like this. The screen is large and easy to see. Very responsive to touch. It makes it super easy to control my house lights through the dedicated remote page that shows all my home devices for control. I have one in my kitchen and I love being able to cast my youtube videos and watch it them I wash dishes. The speakers are pretty loud so I can easy hear through the loud water when I'm dishwashing or cooking. It's nice to read recipes off that as well while cooking VS your tiny phone screen. She's also on the ready to create multiple timers that display on the screen for you while cooking. This is surprisingly more useful than I originally thought. You'd be surprised. And of course there's always the impressive speakers on this so you can simply listen to music.

Compact, Smart, and Intuitively Useful
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Nest Hub 7" Smart Display impresses with its compact design and smart features. The 7-inch screen is the perfect size for any room, offering clear and vibrant visuals. Its voice recognition is top-notch, thanks to Google Assistant, making daily tasks easier through voice commands. The device seamlessly integrates with various smart home devices, providing excellent control and monitoring capabilities. The sound quality is decent for its size, and the ambient EQ light sensor is a thoughtful addition, adjusting the display brightness according to the environment. It's a great choice for those looking for a smart display that's both functional and unobtrusive in a home setting.

One of my favorite Google devices
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These things are so easy to set up and so convenient to have. The touchscreen display is high quality and very easy to use, but you can also perform the bast majority of things by voice as well. I keep mine in my kitchen and it can hear commands from two rooms away. It is great as a stand alone device to get basic things (like getting recipes, setting timers/alarms, answering questions, playing music), but is also the best home automation hub on the market (controlling lights, adjusting thermostat, etc.). You DO have to purchase additional devices if you want to run smart home automations and your current devices are not Google compatible, but MOST smart devices are.

Another smart hub, but is it necessary?!
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love smart devices. Especially, smart hubs that will allow a user to integrate items in their home/ lifestyle to be used and connected. I had an opportunity to get this Google hub during a special sales promotion and because Google is such a reputable company, with strong smart devices. I decided to give it a chance. The display is a nice size. Clear, and with a bright visible screen. This will allow the user to connect to a few devices like a sound bar, a TV, and even smart bulbs and lights within their home. However, the connectivity is not universally present, like it is with the Amazon Alexa devices. Even little things like the display of the date and time are so minuscule when compared to the size of the actual screen, that it’s even hard to see it unless you’re up close. The speaker sounds good when & if you’re using it for podcast or audiobooks. But if you’re listening to music, it could be so much better! and lacks a lot of the characteristic and stereo quality needed for today’s genres. Value wise, I think it’s a good value but Google definitely needs to upgrade the functionality and even some of the smart component connectivity through the Google app. This can allow things to be even more seamless and easier to use. Especially for first time users. Ultimately, I think this item is good! not great! but there’s plenty of potential and opportunity for the future.

Near Hub is a GREAT home addition
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very pleased with all of our Nest products, especially this one. It provides all the functionality of a Nest Hub Max without a camera. The lack of a camera is a necessity for our purchase as this Nest Hub is on a desk that happens to be in a sleeping area. Very happy with this product, would highly recommend it and have purchased others as Christmas for family members.

Excellent Hub for Google Assistant
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a long-time Google Pixel user, i've gone all in on Google products. I got the Nest Hub display on sale for $43 which was a great value for this hub. I use it in my bedroom and it's great for displaying pictures, streaming media, and of course, accessing Google Assistant. It's also one of 2 products that Google put their Soli chip which allows you to use some hand gestures to stop and snooze alarms or play and pause music. I wish they had done more with the chip, but it's nice to be able to just wave at the hub for those quick gestures. The device is small, but the speaker sounds great and is enough to fill the average room with good audio. The device doesn't come with a camera though, which you may consider to be a good thing, but of course that means that you can't use any kind of video calling features or apps.

Great Alarm clock!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this to replace an ailing Lenovo smart clock, and was surprised how many sleep related features it has. It can track a bunch of sleep parameters in Google Fit, the screen goes super dark so you can see the time without being disturbed, and the screen turns off when you're fully asleep. Paired with some smart lights, it's a great way to wake up.

Versatile little guy
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought two of these to be used as clocks on our nightstands. Overall, I really like them! The dimming is perfect. Like, could not be better perfect. It's nearly instantaneous, and is perfectly visible in bright morning light coming in the window, and has such a low setting in pitch black, it's hard to imagine and LCD getting that dim. In fact, I'll go as far as to say it's the best clock I've ever had in my bedroom! Speaking of which, the sleep tracking, which as of now is free, is really cool. Being able to see how I slept vs how I feel in the morning is fascinating, and has led to me making some changes in my nighttime routine. It's a shame that it'll be a paid feature in the future. It gets four stars because the interface is just ever so slightly lagging. In an era of buttery-smooth Android and iOS interfaces, this feels like an interface from circa 2016. Not bad per se, but just not perfect either. Also, when having two in the same room, like on nightstands, when you say OK Google, they both respond, even with Voice ID on. They should be able to communicate and have only one respond. That said it integrates tightly with my smarthome setup, and being able to reach over and turn off my TV from it somehow feels like something from the future. I really like these little guys!

Posted .Hi Cody, thanks for sharing your experience. We’re glad to hear that you like your Nest Hub (2nd Gen), and we do apologize if you’re experiencing some lags and issues with voice commands.
We could be looking at a possible connectivity issue that affects the overall performance of your Nest Hub, and it’s important to make sure that this is not caused by a spotty or weak Wi-Fi signal. We suggest checking your Wi-Fi network for a strong and reliable connection. If you have too many devices connected on the same bandwidth or if your network package is not enough to handle the data traffic on the network, removing other connected devices to your Wi-Fi may relieve network congestion. You can also try doing a factory reset to improve its performance.
Your feedback is important to us, and your satisfaction is what drives us in improving our products and services. We’ll also make sure to pass along the details of your feedback to the right team. This saved my marriage!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In the tumultuous landscape of modern life, where time and technology often seem to pull us apart, a beacon of hope emerged in the form of the Nest Hub 7” Smart Display with Google Assistant (2nd Gen) in Charcoal. Little did I know that this unassuming device would become the unexpected savior of my struggling marriage. From the moment it took its place in our home, the Nest Hub transformed not only our living space but also our relationship. The sleek Charcoal finish seamlessly blended with our decor, exuding a calming presence that set the tone for a new chapter in our lives. The magic began with the Google Assistant, an unintrusive yet ever-helpful presence that gradually became an integral part of our daily routine. From setting shared reminders to managing shopping lists, the Nest Hub effortlessly became the silent mediator, easing the burden of mundane tasks that once led to tension. Our evenings, once marred by the distractions of individual screens and the ceaseless buzz of notifications, found a harmonious rhythm thanks to the Nest Hub's smart display. It became the central hub for our shared interests, displaying our favorite photos, streaming relaxing music, and even suggesting recipes for our newfound joint cooking adventures. The Nest Hub's ability to control smart home devices added an unexpected layer of convenience and connection. With a simple voice command, we could adjust the lighting, control the thermostat, or even play our favorite shows, fostering an environment where compromise and collaboration became second nature. The morning routine, once a hurried and chaotic affair, transformed into a shared experience of planning and positivity. The Nest Hub's visual aids, from displaying the day's weather to providing a personalized agenda, helped us start our days on a coordinated and uplifting note. The device's unobtrusive nature became a metaphor for the newfound balance in our relationship. The Nest Hub brought forth a sense of unity, reminding us that technology, when harnessed thoughtfully, has the power to facilitate connection rather than create distance. In essence, the Nest Hub 7” Smart Display in Charcoal became the unexpected hero of our love story, mending the rifts and fostering an environment of understanding and togetherness. Its unassuming presence, backed by the power of Google Assistant, transformed our home into a sanctuary of love and shared moments. To say it saved our struggling marriage is an understatement—it redefined and revitalized our connection. In the soft glow of its display, our love found a new, harmonious rhythm, and for that, we are forever grateful.

Awesome!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was going to get a mini Google Nest as I already have two of them, but the display is SO nice. I've completely replaced my outdated alarm clock with this. It does everything any Google Home product does, just with an additional screen to show you more information. For example, if you ask about the weather for the day, it will vocally tell you, but the display will also show the weather for the next week with highs and lows. It also has a cool feature that dims and brightens the screen based on light it senses already in the room, so it isn't too bright at night. It was quite easy to set up, just like the others. It's a little bit of a pain to move one to a different room as you have to reset it and reconnect it, but it could definitely be harder.
