Slow responses may be related to a weak or congested network. Try these simple steps that may improve the performance of your Nest Hub:
- Move your Nest Hub near your router.
- Restart your Wi-Fi router and your Nest Hub to refresh connection.
- If you have a dual-band router, try setting up your Nest Hub on either the 2.4GHz or 5GHz bands and see which band is more reliable.
- Check for possible congestion in your network. Removing some of your connected devices may free up some bandwidth space.
- Also make sure that the phone or tablet and Google Home app are all up to date.
You can also try adjusting how sensitive Google Assistant responds to the hotword “Hey Google” may help:
- Open your Google Home app
- Select your Nest Hub
- At the top right, tap the Settings (Gear) icon
- Then tap Audio.
- Then tap "Hey Google" sensitivity and adjust the slider to make your Nest Hub more responsive to the hotword.

Posted .Thanks for reaching out, MarvinR. We’re glad you’re enjoying the Nest Hub (2nd Gen). That said, we hear concern regarding those audio issues — that seems out of the ordinary. A factory reset can help solve that problem and here’s how to do that:
On the back of Nest Hub, press and hold both volume buttons together for about 10 seconds. Your Nest Hub will let you know that it's resetting.
