I still really haven't figured it out. Also, I have mixed feelings regarding how well the sleep monitoring function works.

Sleep Sensing uses Motion Sense to track the sleep of the person closest to the display. Motion Sense uses a low-energy radar to detect movement and breathing. Other sensors in Nest Hub detect sounds like snoring and coughing, and environmental factors like light and temperature in the room. Sleep Sensing features are subject to your permissions and settings. They use motion, sound, and other device and sensor data to work, and require placing the device close to the bed and calibrating the device for your sleeping position.
You can turn Motion Sense on to start detecting movement. Please Note that Motion Sense needs to be on to perform Quick Gestures and Sleep Sensing. Here’s how:
- From the bottom of your Nest Hub (2nd gen) display, swipe up.
- Tap Settings > Motion Sense.

It has really made my home smart and easy to use. It is very good and sensitive. And here’s me from across the room and carries out of commands with minimal issues. I highly recommend this product over Amazon. Why? Google has better business practice andTreats their employees better than Amazon. I personally prefer google home and I recommend this over the competitor. I have had no issues so far. If you want a good product I highly recommend choosing this device.
