The display is excellent at displaying photos and is a great digital photo frame. Keeping it in the kitchen it is convenient for following YouTube how-to s, easy to check how cold (!) outside, ask questions, and have it play podcasts when I am cooking. Love it.

The sleep tracking was not a selling feature, but it’s been giving me great insight. Highly recommend.

Will respond to simple commands. We cannot get the screen to stay on Home Control. It is not intuitive. We had a Nest thermostat installed, so we bought this. Again. Ugh. We do not like it.

I use it in the kitchen to watch some of my TV shows while I am fixing dinner. I was recommended this by my daughter-in-law who has one and really enjoys using it and she talked her father into getting one also.

Sounds quality is good. I wish size is a bit more for photos slide show. Also, trying to figure out a way slide show from Amazon photos..

Posted .Hey Srik, thanks for the feedback you shared on the Nest Hub (2nd gen). We appreciate that you love its features and functionality, and we hear your concerns with the screen size for the photos slideshow, and with incorporating your Amazon photos to the hub.
You can add your favorite photos to Google Photos and display them in your Google Nest Photo frame. Alternatively, you can choose an existing art gallery or select from a variety of traditional and abstract clocks to show while your device is idle. Live Albums automatically add photos from your Google Photos library so you don’t have to manually update the photos on your Nest display. Each Live Album you create has a limit of 20,000 photos. To expand beyond that, create a new Live Album and enable it in the Photo frame settings. Your Nest display should show photos from all enabled albums.

One weird flaw

The one issue I have had with it, that I had with the first gen one as well, is weird connectivity problems. It will randomly just pause itself in the middle of music or news. There have been a couple of times where it was buffering. But most of the time, it will pause when I’m in the shower. The first gen one did the same thing. I don’t know if it is a particular sound or frequency that causes it, but it is extremely annoying.

Make sure your Nest Hub is located where the touch surface is not in contact with anything. A simple reboot can sometimes resolve minor glitches too.

Controls multiple smart home items (lights, plugs, wireless cameras) Display is nice as you can customize different features such as weather. it has replaced the alarm clock in our bedroom. Bought 6 more of them for xmas gifts.

The audio is very clear for music and it is a nice size screen to watch short videos. It also serves as my alarm clock.
