Does what it needs to do most of the time

Its pretty reaponsive and the screen is dim enough at night for a good alarm clock. It occasionally wont pick up ok our voices or have a moment where its thinking and doesnt respond, but otherwise its good.

Posted .Hi Jh99, thank you for sharing your review on your Nest Hub (2nd gen). We can see that you're experiencing some difficulties with voice commands. We suggest that you retrain your Nest Hub to better recognize your voice as this may help with voice control. We also suggest adjusting the Hotword sensitivity as it may also be helpful with the issue. You may follow the steps below to help improve your experience:
Retrain Voice Match:
- On your phone or tablet, open the Google Home app.
- At the top right, tap your Profile picture or initial and then Assistant settings and then Voice Match.
- Tap Teach your Assistant your voice again and then Retrain.
Change Nest Hub's Hotword sensitivity:
- Open your Google Home app.
- Select your Nest Hub.
- At the top right, tap the Settings (Gear) icon.
- Then tap Audio.
- Then tap "Hey Google" sensitivity and adjust the slider to make your Nest Hub more responsive to the Hotword.

a great starter device to welcome a new convert

The expense of rewiring the fixture to a wall switch wasn't in her budget, so I suggested a Philips Hue starter set with bulbs, Hub, and a smart switch. But the addition of voice control was the icing on the cake, and the Nest Hub in the kitchen was the perfect family centric device for her and the kids. They are all amazed with the voice control of the light in the kitchen, and turning off the downstairs lights and the bedroom light from the iPhone. A weather report, and morning news update during breakfast, before the kids off to school rounds it out.

Music lovers dream

It also has the other platforms for music. Still learning to programs. I love that I can play jazz for my pup in the day and come home to soothing music. It has other good features but this is my favorite.

Posted .Thanks for reaching out, MarvinR. We’re glad you’re enjoying the Nest Hub (2nd Gen). That said, we hear concern regarding those audio issues — that seems out of the ordinary. A factory reset can help solve that problem and here’s how to do that:
On the back of Nest Hub, press and hold both volume buttons together for about 10 seconds. Your Nest Hub will let you know that it's resetting.

Sound still isn’t very good and the sleep function is broken and will move to subscription service next year. Sorry but I’m not paying for another subscription service to monitor my sleep.

Changing your sound settings on Nest Hub may help improve your audio experience. To adjust bass and treble levels, follow the steps below:
- Make sure your mobile device or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi or linked to the same account as your Nest Hub.
- Open the Google Home app.
- Tap the device you want to adjust > the Settings > and then Audio > and then Equalizer.
- Adjust Bass and Treble level.

Sleep tracking doesn't work

However, we tried 2 weeks but no sleep data were recorded. It detected when someone was in bed, but didn't seem to track the sleep. Maybe it was a defective unit. But we didn't want to invest more time on it so we returned it.
