Stopped working in less than a month

We played music for about an hour then it stopped playing. The next day the same thing. Today I walked past the google and it made a loud noise and the screen went blank. Of course Best Buy can’t do a refund because it’s past 15 days. Obviously, the issues arise after the return date is met.

Over-priced picture frame

But it's a worthless piece of garbage. If I have a question I have to say Is it 3 or 4 or more times before I get a response. And a lot of the time the answer is I don't know. That's not why I purchased this. I asked what's the current temperature was and it gave me the Wikipedia definition of temperature. It's not a smart home, it's a very very dumb home. Very disappointed and wish I hadn't wasted my money. If I wanted to ask half a dozen times to turn the lights on I will get a boyfriend instead of a smart home. I wanted something that would listen. Smart home does not.

Google Assistant might not activate properly when you say “Hey Google” or “Ok Google,” particularly in a noisy environment. Also, being specific with your query will help you get better responses. Make sure Nest Hub Max recognizes your question correctly. Ask the same question to see if you will get the same answer. Retraining your Nest Hub Max, to better recognize your voice, and adjusting the Hotword sensitivity may be helpful with the issue. You may follow the step by step guide on these help articles:

Have to say "Hey Google" 3-4 times to wake it up

Have had nothing but amazon smart devices up to this point, but bought this for the huge clock for my bad eyes at night. Amazon is MILES ahead in voice recognition. I have to constantly say "HEY GOOGLE" at least 3-4 times to wake this worthless thing up. There is an option to turn up the voice recognition which is utterly useless. If you want something that hears you the first time every time, go Amazon. Get this if you want to wake up at 2:00 am after falling asleep with your lights on and yell "HEY GOOGLE" at the top of your lungs 4 times in a row to have it turn off your smart lights.

Google Assistant might not respond properly when you say “Hey Google” or “Ok Google,” particularly in a noisy environment. Also, being specific with your query will help you get better responses. Make sure Nest Hub Max recognizes your question correctly. If you haven’t tried yet, Adjusting how sensitive Google Assistant responds to the hotword “Hey Google” may also be helpful. Please see the steps below:
- Open the Google Home app.
- At the bottom, tap Home.
- Select your Nest Hub Max.
- At the top right, tap Device settings Settings and then “Hey Google” sensitivity.
- If you don’t find “Hey Google sensitivity,” first tap Audio.
- Choose how sensitive you want Google Assistant to be when it responds to you.
- To change this setting on another device, tap Adjust more devices.

Great for NEST house, not for Social Distant Vids

But somehow Google did not get the memo that conferencing is the new hotness. You are limited to only video calling one person. I ended up returning it. Everything else was great about it.

Stops connecting to WiFi making it useless!!

Having an elderly parent living in our home it was a relief to be able to view the camera during the day while we were at work to make sure all was ok. Well, that only lasted a short time before this device bricked itself and stopped connecting to WiFi. After searching this topic it is apparent that this is a problem with this device and there isn't a fix. Come on Google give it a firmware update...

A range issue or wireless interference can affect the performance of your display. Sometimes it may pass the connection test during setup, but will struggle to stay connected if it’s just a bit too far away. If you're experiencing a spotty connection or weak signal, we recommend checking your Wi-Fi network to see if your bandwidth is congested. This may happen if you have too many devices connected on the same bandwidth or if your network package is not enough to handle the data traffic on the network. Removing other connected devices to your Wi-Fi may relieve network congestion. If your display is mounted too far from your Wi-Fi router, you may need to extend your Wi-Fi network’s range using an extender, boosters or additional Wi-Fi access points.

No camera only privacy

You dont even think about keeping a camera privacy shutter? They have a digital buttom that turns off BOTH camera and mic. I’m out of words. I want to use mic to speak to the assistant but i dont want camera to be on - no body in your trillion dollar company woth 100,000 emplotees thiught about this? Jesus Christ.

- Ask the Google Assistant to turn the camera on/off via voice command.
- Turn the camera on or off from the Device settings of the Google Home app.
- Turn the camera off from Live View.

Don’t buy this unless you are totally google

I have a google account using my yahoo mail. Everything was fine until I got verify your account from google so I did. All of a sudden I notice my calendar wasn’t sinking. It got worse. Was on the phone with google home for 5 HOURS yes that long. They not only can they not fix because they don’t know how now I lost all third party apps access, like Pokémon so that’s now gone. The unit doesn’t even work now since tgg BF en suggested I delete the google account. I got it back but it won’t wirk with the nest. You have to be full google, email fro Gmail etc. and it doesn’t wirk well with an iphone

Setup and system overall disappointing

After over an hour trying to set up everything from connecting to Google Duo, Assistant, Home, rebooting the system three times, and majority of apps we use not compatible with this, we’re returning it. You have to download so many Google apps and give access to your life plus your blood type in order for it to work. We’ve linked our Google Duo correctly, and it still was not working. We thought it’d be simpler than others, but turned out to be a terrible experience. Video quality not as good as other hubs.
