I was perfectly satisfied with my Google home mini for years and the nest mini was a familiar but welcome upgrade. I knew I'd been missing out on bass and what not, but the fullness of this sound is amazing! If you enjoy crisp full music with bass you can feel but you're not ready to commit to a proper surround sound system, this is the perfect purchase once you get over the sticker shock.

i like how the camera works. And i like the video calling.

I love this product. Reason why I didn’t give it a 5 star is because of its not that easy to set up which means it can’t be used to the fullest until I have to time to figure it out such as adding pictures or the use to face time

Love my google home max. I have 3 of them. They are awesome. I especially live when I see a photo that I like on the screen. The picture quality is awesome

If you own legacy Nest products from Nest.com, you will want to read this before buying Nest.com used to be it's own a smart home company. It was great, so naturally Google bought them. When Google started making their own smart home products, they all played well together with Nest - linking your cameras, thermostats, smoke detectors, etc. Until now... Google is now aggressively migrating all Nest and Google accounts. The Nest Hub Max is great, but exposes an INHERENT PROBLEM with this process: because the camera, speaker, display and smart assistant are all-in-one device here, you can't set one up separately from the other. You see where this is going. Before now, you set up all of your Nest cameras through the Nest app, not the Google Home app. So, essentially, this particular product will force you into migration, and if you have old Nest products in your home they will disappear from your Google Home app. This is a known issue, and you will see it discussed elsewhere online. There is no way to un-migrate. The only workaround currently is to remove all of your Nest products from your Nest.com account then re-add them to your new migrated account, one-by-one, like you did when you first bought them. If you are an early adopter of IoT then you'll likely already be weathered for this sort of thing. TBH, I wouldn't have expected this from Nest

My everyday use product really good quality and affordable prize. Amazing sound compared to smaller version of it. I even get another one for my wife.

What you'd expect from Google home pieces. We have the original hub and this is a much welcomed upgrade. Love the camera (with tracking!) and sound quality.

Found the 7 inch at a pawn shop, purchased it and loved it. I saw the features of the Max and had to have one. Thought I would wait until Black Friday but what do you know found one at another pawn shop, got it for $85!!! So happy, got both of them for less than $150!!

We bought one of these as we have several other items that work with it, like bulbs and cameras. However about a month after buying it, it quit working. We tried getting it back to factory settings and re-installing it but nothing worked. We took it back to BestBuy and exchanged it for another. The representatives were very helpful and getting this changed out.

I own 3 of these becauce I am enjoy them so much, I highly recommend them

This google hub with the nest camera is simply the best device as it serves as a hub and also a nest camera which is very cool.

Despite being shiny and offering the google nest services, I'm reviewing this piece of hardware specifically not the entire google nest ecosystem. Sound quality is pretty bad, it has that typical "trying to make a tiny speaker produce too much bass" try-hard sound and I just wish they would stop. There is no line out on this or any other google nest product that I know of so connecting to a better speaker necessitates bluetooth. Disappointing considering how bad this device really sounds. I'm trying not to be an audiophile dork here but I just switched from using an Alexa device through a Marshall Stanmore speaker and even at low volumes this Google Nest Hub Max is a major downgrade let's not even talk about loud jamming. Setup is a little weird because it requires use of an extra device (a phone or tablet) when this thing already is basically a tablet, why can't I do setup directly on it? The setup process didn't take long but it felt like a clown show for the entire duration. Look here, now look there, now look back... Small nitpick maybe but this is supposed to be a premium product from a globally dominating company. Swiping from the bottom or side to access menus is not very responsive, and also some primary controls really should have physical buttons like volume and menu. First order accessibility is good ergonomics and this does not have good ergonomics. The screen itself is bright and highly legible, and responsiveness of voice control is fast and seems to work well. So yeah I know I'm being harsh here. That's the point. This thing already frustrated me not half an hour into owning it and since it's impossible to connect it to a better speaker my options are return it or accept a downgrade in the principal reason I bought it. Lame!

Setup is a little vague with no paper instructions for anything so you're at the mercy of the internet.

Great hub with good functionality. I am sure I am not using all of its capabilities, but the ones I need it has, and they work well.

So great to have it set up in my kitchen where I can tell it to play music, tell me news updates, and video talk to my grandkids. I love it!

What I thought I was getting: A hub that allows me to view all the activity from my cameras; The Ring and Nest cameras and I was hopeful that it would show “Blink” but not shocked if it didn’t. It didn’t. What I got: A locked iPad knock-off with a built in speaker that requires a secret service clearance and ONLY uses a google email to allow you to use the unit. I do NOT have a google email but the unit forces you out of all of your nest products if you do not have one. I had to use my sons google account which I feel was a breach. It accessed all his photos and music YouTube playlists and neither he or I was happy about that. I HATE how google tries to force you into their platform! You are very limited on what cooking websites it allows you to access and you can only access them via voice command. I was very frustrated with it. The “Nest” camera that comes built into the unit records live activity and keeps the history, but for my exterior Nest camera it only showed live activity so I was unable to review the activity. Also while live streaming my front porch camera activity, it would constantly glitch. #Fail. The clarity and sound was good but it must be plugged in at all times making it useless if you want to view activity from - say, your front porch, while you’re in the backyard. It does not charge or allow use of any kind without being plugged up. I’m not sure what people are using this item for, but I think it’s better to get a lower model iPad and a stand and download an app that allows split screens to view camera activity. This item was absolute trash to me. I returned it and was happy to be rid of it. I am not sure it deleted all of our personal information when we returned it and the Best Buy clerk didn’t know either. Stay away from this item. Google/Nest, do better and stop trying to control everything!
