    Embarrassing for Google

    I wanted so badly for this product to work well. Our family has the google/nest cameras and speakers and decided to get this product. Kids can play games on the screen, but those are glitchy 50% of the time. Connecting to your video subscriptions and accessing them is difficult. I wouldn’t buy the product again, unfortunately. And it has lost my faith in other google screen products. If you only use the Hub Max for music it works well enough. If you want to utilize it for its more involved features, I think you will be frustrated by how slow or glitchy it can be.

    We had this device for about 2.5 years. A few months ago it just stopped working and no reboot, factory reset or troubleshooting can help. The touchscreen is gone and the device has a very weird behavioir, can’t be used anymore. So, be aware….

    Built in Camera no longer works.

    After 4 months of use, the built in Nest camera no longer works, hence the main reason for the purchase. The camera works to make or receive video calls, but not to monitor the home when you are away. Geek Squad did the inital set-up however, they do not offer in home service to come fix this issue. I googled it and there are hundreds of unhappy people going thru the same frustrating issue. The camera does not show up on the Google Home app, and if you try to access it on the display itself. it says "not available" what a bummer.

    Absolute garbage

    I love all my other Nest products, but this thing is absolutely useless! I bought this months ago and finally set it up. Unfortunately, I'm past the return window or I would return it. It can't do anything effectively. The interface is awful, the search search system crashes all the time, the screen times out and doesn't save where you left off, you can't jump between apps or 'background' anything and come back to it, hardly any apps are available for it. I don't understand what Google's goal for this product is if it can't at least do what a phone or tablet can. I can't think of a single good reason to buy this product. I would have been way better off just buying a tablet and a stand for it.

    No Power Cord Replacement

    Once your power cord breaks, there is ABSOLUTELY NO REPLACEMENT Nest hub max was very nice and fun. Enjoyed the camera and my child enjoyed the games/youtube feature. Then our cat chewed the power cord... My wife called repeatedly to google customer service. Because it was the cat's fault, it wasn't covered by warranty. THAT'S NOT THE PROBLEM. The problem is they have no replacement cords for sale. None at stores, none on amazon, none at GOOGLE. We now own a dead $200 machine.

    Glorified picture display

    Used to love this, but its been pretty much useless since the latest OS update that came out a while ago. Even my old 1st generation Nest Hubs perform better. Constantly has issues with connection, playing music on Spotify, and fulfilling the most basic commands.....the only thing it can still manage to do consistently is cycle through pictures like its just a picture frame. Really wish there was a way to revert back to the old OS.

    No bang for its buck. $80, maybe. $230, comedy

    After nearly 3 years of ownership, I can say that I would not recommend this product to anyone. We spent nearly $280 after tax on this electronic that is one step away from being garbage. Its responsive when it does not need to be, and not responsive when you need it. This problem was worsened with the latest big update where they redid the entire OS from scratch. The home app is also riddled with bugs, especially if you are removing or adding new items over time. One of the big selling points to us was the built in security camera. Sadly, this camera has been plagued with blank spots where it recorded nothing for 30+ minute stretches since ownership. It has progressively gotten worse, and now will go days without recording if we don't keep an eye on it. We have the Nest Hub premium subscription, and its just nice to know that even though we pay monthly, this isn't recording anything half the time. For the price you are paying, something should be expected to last, and not have issues with constant problems. Google, you really blotched this one.

For improving on your device's response, we recommend that you retrain your Nest Hub Max to better recognize your voice as this may help with voice control.       Retrain Voice Match:
      - On your phone or tablet, open the Google Home app.
      - At the top right, tap your Profile picture or initial and then Assistant settings and then Voice Match.
      - Tap Teach your Assistant your voice again and then Retrain.

    BEWARE!!! Good Product Awful Support

    Google does not sell replacement power supplies for this product. So if you damage the cord in any way. Your cat bites through it, you trip over it etc. you end up with a $200 dollar brick. They say you can get a 3rd party one online however, they give you one Spec. 30w which doesn't tell you anything. in fact it has to be 24v 1.25Amp with a custom 4.5 MM connector. the stander universal ones will NOT fit the hub max. Oh and if you do find one and use it you void any further warrantee on the hub!!!

      Connectivity issues for Nest Hub Max may be caused by several reasons such as Wi-Fi network congestion, wireless interference with other Wi-Fi hotspots or devices nearby and other Wi-FI settings.

      You cam try doing the following:
      - Restart your Wi-Fi router. Unplug the router from the power outlet, wait at least 60 seconds before plugging it back in.
      - Make sure that the firmware and app is updated.
      - Reset your Nest Hub Max to factory defaults.

    No multiple nest cameras???

    I bought this thinking I could see all my google nest cameras at once. Just like the Nest app has for years and years. You cannot, so this entire device is useless for me. Going to return, and now not buy several more nest cameras because of this ridiculous feature

    Watch out!

    I bought a Google Nest Hub max 3 weeks ago. I foster cats in my house and unfortunately one of my foster cats chewed the cord. My nest doesn’t work. I ordered replacement cords on amazon and none of them worked. After several phone calls and texts to Best Buy and the Google store, come to find out, they don’t sell replacement cords separately for the nest hub, ANYWHERE. I then wanted to return the Google Nest Hub to Best Buy but they won’t accept my return because my cord is not in working condition. This is a HUGE flaw with Google. I can’t believe Google, as big as they are, this has actually transpired. So watch out! Don’t lose the cord and make sure it stays in perfect condition. If it wasn’t for this, the hub was great and I really enjoyed using it. I

    Doesn't support step-by-step cooking instructions

    My son asked for this for Christmas. He was moving out and wanted the step-by-step cooking instructions. I use mine all the time for that. Unfortunately a recent update with Google Assistant the recipes, cookbook and step-by-step cooking directions are no longer a feature. The Alexa display has better features if you are looking for interactions and music.

    Don't Buy Google Products

    Every Google device I've ever bought has one if not multiple problems with basic functionality. The Nest Hub Max drops connection all the time when every other device in the house runs smoothly. Half the Meet calls have black screens. The Zoom calling they just rolled out doesn't even start and never has. When you go to the trouble shooting forums, Google is "Aware of the problem and are working on it." for years on end. They are coasting on their name. As soon as they have your money they don't care if your product actually works.

    Horrible, Avoid

    Google should be ashamed for shipping something this bad. I ran into 4 bugs in the few tries of using it. It gave wrong directions for itself. When clicking buttons it present it says "sorry, I don't understand". I bought it to show recipes but the stupid youtube app times out so if you mix or knead for a few minutes your paused video is removed from the screen. And finally, because you can't customize the home screen it's basically a propaganda machine for Google. Someone/committee at Google gets to decide what you'll be shown. I have no interest in the things they are showing. I don't need someone else choosing that messages, life types, topics of the day, etc. I certainly don't want that from Google
